Anyone seen Star Trek?

Well, Well, WELL worth the price of admission - and an excellent way for Paramount to continue to market the ST franchise....I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a new series or a surge in ST fandom again.

Go see the movie - it was awesome!

Movie Review: X-Men Origins:Wolverine!

If You are NOT a follower of the previous three X-Men movies...You don't have to become one to enjoy this film. This film takes place "before" the X-Men was released(It's amazing how good Hugh Jackman looks after 10 years),and covers the history of Wolverine, from early childhood to his adult years! I wont spoil the plot at all..but will say there are some new chacactors from the X-Men mythos inroduced in this film. If you like action films..this one will satisfy you completly. On a scale of 1-5 stars(5 being the best)I would have to give this movie 4 stars...and I am an X-Men fan!:):):):)The Wiz!

This was a good show, as well, but I liked ST better....and yes, it is a biased review on my part - I'm a Trekkie to the core, but only a closet X-men fan...

Vicks......I am an original series Trekkie...I am just afraid JJ Abrams might have strayed from trekkie lore....I heard he tried to say on track for the most part!....Going to see it in IMAX!:)The Wiz!

Gotta tell you, Wiz -

No, never mind...I don't want to spoil the movie. Just go see it - you're going to love it...

Except the parts with Spock & Uhura. I'm still having trouble with that one........in that regard, they toasted the Trekkie Bible.

Last night we watched Taken. Mom and I need sub-titles/closed captioning, but it gives everyone else a headache. So, we watched it without sub-titles. It was a great action/suspense film. Here's the link at Netflix: Netflix Online Movie Rentals - Rent DVDs, Classic Films to DVD New Releases

I thought that the "suspension of disbelief" was really pretty good up until the end when it became more like a "Steven Seagal can do anything film". (Liam Neeson is the main character; Segal is not in the movie) I wish the director had just done a little more work relative to the ending. But, all-in-all it was a really good film... and mind you that is with mom and me not being able to actually follow all the dialogue.

Vicks.....Thanks for the No spoiler...Spock and Uhura???..I hope it wasn't the old seven year cycle kicking in...lol..that would blemish TV's first Interacial kiss!....Thanks for the thumbs up...My excitement to see it now continues to grow!:)The Wiz!

MM......I have heard that Taken was a very good film..I will have to judge for myself now! Speaking of "suspension of disbelief"..I would recommend you see Doubt...very entertaining with great acting as well....The ending was suspect..but an enjoyable film altogether! Unfortunatly that would be a closed caption/sub-title one for mom..Lots of dialog!(hope no one gets a headache..lol):)The Wiz!

Well, Wiz, that is a good point. I guess I left it out because in comparison to movies like Saving Private Ryan, which covers similar ground, it's just not nearly as realistic. But you couldn't ask for a better cast than The Longest Day.

I added it, Wiz, but I'm not a Meryl Streep fan. She always turns me off... especially since, in my opinion, she was totally mis-casted for the movie The Bridges of Madison County. (I loved that book and it was a total mis-cast that I never got over.) Not, too sure about mom either... She was a Catholic School teacher for 30yrs... We've never even discussed stuff like this... Should prove interesting, moved it to #6 in my queue at Netflix.

The Great Escape and Stalag 17. I just edited and added them to hopefully avoid great embarrasment, lol.
I am gong to have a hard time with this list!....depending how far back in warfare time I go(which unfortunatly is quite a span of time):)The Wiz!
