    Somewhere between here and there
It's funny you mentioned the 510 batts. I just got out two I had left last night to charge so I can sell them. I had someone ask me to sell them so I will. I kinda forgot that I have a pcc too that I need to get rid of. I have not used standard 510 batts for a few months. Like you said, there is no going back now.

I need some advice. I just got my Xhaler. I'm running 5v. Everyone seems to like the 510 at 5v but I keep getting a burnt taste. Lots of vapor but no flavor. Any techniques I need to be aware of? I've tried short draws and that helps. But little vapor.

How long do the batteries tend to last?

    Thanks :thumb:

Are you dripping or using a cart? Either way, keep your drags short and top off VERY often. Once you get a bad burnt taste in a 510 atty it usually requires some cleaning to get rid of.

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm thinking that the cart isn't delivering enough juice. A new cart works ... awsome. After about the forth buff it starts tasting like crud.:p
I tested the same cart/atty on a 510 batt and worked fine.

The filler in the pre-filled carts are no good.. Also dont even think about using them for 5 volts! High voltage has a higher demand on juice then normal 3.7v. Drip or try my cart mod.

What kind of cart filling and juice are you using? Vaping at higher voltage does suck up the juice (only downside) so you have to make sure that atty is staying wet. If I take my time between vapes my PTB filled carts do pretty good at keeping the juice flowing into the atty and I can go longer before topping off. If I'm really hitting it hard it's gonna dry up the atty faster than the cart can fill it back up. I can usually tell by vapor drop off and hotter vapor when the cart is needing a top off. Still, I will occasionally miss that yellow light and go directly to the STOP sign...the burnt nasty hot as hell hit. When that happens, it's definitely time to top off. Each time I refill my carts I also put 2 drops of liquid directly on the atty bridge. When you say a new cart are you talking about pre-filled carts? If so, that's the problem right there. Pre-filled carts always give me a nasty burning taste in the first place, but they are not so effective at keeping the atty wet, especially at higher voltage. I would not recommend using pre-filled carts at anything over std. 3.7 voltage if at all. Get yourself some Nhaler High Voltage juice and switch to PTB filled carts. There's a lot of how-to videos that show you how to make your own (Pyramid Tea Bag). You can also buy carts from Cignot that are already filled with PTB for you 3 for $5.00. At the very least, using pre-filled carts at 5 volts, you must add a few drops here and there to the atty and top off frequently. You may flood the atty now and then, but you can just blow some juice out, instead of frying the atty. Wow, this was really rambly, I need to get to bed, LOL

*EDIT* Or you can try eclypse's cart mod, LOL...I haven't got around to that one yet ;)

    Hi All,

It runs through the juice in a big way. I think I figured it out. I'm using the Buff Puff filler mod (works sweet). I just wasn't use to the 5v operation. I did some operational testing and found out what you already noted. It can heat the atty up 100x faster than the stock battery. That's what was throwing me off. If I back off just as the vapor is getting warm BOO YAAA! Also leting the atty cool down between hits helped too. I was over zealous with my trigger finger.

This thing is a monster on juice that was another issue. I was running through carts like mad. I'm vaping HV 555. Tried Xhale Marboro too. 4 buffs of that my head was spinning.

Vape on......cough cough.......oooooh that was a good.

Yeah, it takes a little getting used to...but then it's all good. Glad to hear you are getting it figured out.

once you vape on any higher voltage mod you never go back. I see these mods that can only accommodate 3.7v bats and wonder what the point of buying a mod that only vapes at 3.7 (mainly the lil chuck, protege, those VP1 or 2 and others) For a little bit more money you can vape at HV- which is alot better IMO. I mean its nice to have the option of 3.7v but I don't want to be limited to 3.7v. I have a Silver Bullet and I bought the 18650 3.7v bats for it and I NEVER use them- I got 2 of them about 3 weeks ago and I haven't had to charge them once (they are 3000mAh tho). Once you vape at 5v or 6v nothing compares. One thing nice about these 18650 bats I have tho are they are 3000mAh- I can vape for days with these bats the bat life is amazing- but I find 3.7v is not very satisfying.

I really like the versatility that the Xhaler offers. For the price it is very economical. A couple things that make me hesitant- the switch looks sub-par compared to my Silver Bullet (but the SB probably has the best switch on any mod) so I'm not sure if this is a fair comparison- and I haven't tried the Xhalers switch so I can't say for sure, but I know I don't really care for the switch location. Also- Im not sure about this half turn for 5v full turn for 6v. But then again it is really cool to be able to have all those different voltage available.

I think I will have to add the Xhaler to my collection for sure. How does the Xhaler achieve 5v? Does it have a voltage regulator?
