Hi all. First post but I first started reading this forum a few years ago. First foray into vaping was a crappy ecig that looked like a real cigarette. Within a few minutes I realised it was no good. Then got the eGo which was enough to help me quit smoking for about 6 months but, and let's be honest, was still pretty crap. So, a couple of years down the track and I wander back and see the changes that have been happening while I've been away - and I have to say,
I was immediately impressed.

I was all set to order an iStick but at the last moment I came across the eGrip. And I gotta say, it was a 'wow' moment. It was seemingly everything I'd been looking for. Tonnes of vapour, a battery that lasts all day and, possibly best of all, it's tiny. Truly portable. So I ordered one and picked it up this arvo, and so far it still seems to be everything I'd hoped it would. And it's a classy piece of kit - very solid.

So I got it home a few hours ago and had to fill it with the only juice I could find, e-....... Yep, you read that right, lol (Hey, I was curious!). Anyway, the stuff tastes pretty nasty, and I'm sure that any active ingredients had died long ago, but it was all that I had. And I was desperate to give this thing a go. And the egrip vaped it like a champ! Never had I had an experience with an ecig like this.

On the way home after picking up the egrip I stopped at the supermarket and grabbed some vg and a few natural flavourings. I'm glad I did because even though the remaining juice I had seemed to fill the tank to halfway, it was gone pretty soon. So now I'm vaping a mix of rum and vanilla, which I have to say is pretty good, but I immediately noticed the lack of nicotine and am feeling far less satisfied. More juice is on the way though, and I may have some smokes in the meantime, but I couldn't be happier. Also, I ordered the RBA and other supplies, after seeing its great reviews.

Anyway, really glad to be a part of this great place - finally - and over the moon about the egrip. As I've read before, this thing is truly a game-changer. I can't wait to see how it goes with the RBA. And IMHO, this style is the future of vaping. No tinkering, no modding, no adjusting - just pick it up and suck.

Welcome to the forum, TryTryAgain! Glad to have you here and glad you found a good vape for you. Be careful vaping grocery store food flavorings as many of them have oils in them, which you don't want to be vaping. Stick with e-juice and later on you might want to try your hand at mixing your own. There's an entire sub-forum for that with lots of very experienced mixers. Again, welcome.

Thanks LarryJ, it's good to be here. The supermarket stuff is only for a night or two as I was excited to get the new piece and didn't want to run out of juice. And I figured that even if I somehow went a little wrong, it's probably still less harmful than tobacco. That said, I can't wait to get the juices I've ordered and I doubt I will be mixing my own in future. It's simplicity I'm after. Which is why I love this egrip. I think we're living in the wrong age. It's good now, but just imagine how much they will have perfected this stuff in 20 years time!

Also, was surprised to use so much juice in this thing in just a few hours as the tank seemed about half full. Maybe I was going a little bit heavy. Doesn't matter tho, it's still way cheaper and far less harmful, so unless some dramatic changes occur I'm very happy.

Thanks for posting. I've been thinking about the grip for a little while, so it's nice to near about another noob that has found it to be a good bit of gear. In addition to the RBA base that you have (or have on its way), there are two (maybe three) other things I've read about that complete the kit:

Pre-made coils for the RBA. According to reviews, that RBA base has improved airflow, and flavor. These little coils will save you the hassle of winding coils. Of course, you don't get to play around with different resistances, wire gauges, shapes and such, but you will get something that works. Get a bit of cotton, clean it up and rewick and the coils can be reused.

510 adapter for the base. This makes it possible to attach that RBA base to a battery, which allows to check your coil (confirm your targeted resistance, lack of shorts, good connections). It also allows you to dry burn the coil for cleaning and re-wicking.

Something to attach that 510 adapter to. Could be an ohm reader, could be a cheap 30w box mod that you keep at home as part of a second kit. Could be something that a buddy or a shop owner lets you use for a minute just to burn gunk off your coil or check out your newly built coil.

Those pre made coils would eliminate the need for the last two bits, IMHO.

Okay, my birthday is close enough… I'm getting one of these things for myself.

And I ordered a rechargeable ecigar and a disposable one just in case I missed the feeling of a "real" tobacco thing. Both from fast tech. I didn't bother searching for any reviews for either on those, but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's tried them.

Unless you enjoy super long waits id stay away from FT. I rather spend an extra couple dollars and get it in a couple days then save a little bit of cash and wait a month.

Thanks for the welcome guys, and the advice. Will leave the supermarket stuff alone. Anyway, I got some juice in the mail today, so all's good. Oh, except the egrip doesn't work anymore, lol! It stopped working last night and hasn't come back yet, despite it sitting in warm air for a couple of hours. So that's a pain. I rushed to the local tobacconist just before they shut this arvo and bought an ego T, just to use until the egrip is back on deck. I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. Much better than my old ego.

Thanks. I've already ordered a bunch of pre-coiled wires (1.3, 1.5 and 1.8 ohm), 50 of each. You still have to bend the ends of the wires and snip them off but I think I can manage that. And I got enough cotton to make 1000 wicks, so I should be good for a while. And all delivered for under $20. The stock coils will do until they arrive.

I don't mind waiting, as long as I have stuff to vape in the meantime. For us in Oz it's more than a little bit of cash, it's more like 1/3rd or even 1/4 the price, so I'll just make sure to stock up in advance. What I was curious about tho was if anyone had tried those cigars?

So, minor update. After another couple of hours of practically cooking in front of the heater, I thought I'd give the eGrip another go - and it came back to life! So relieved. Touch wood it stays this way. Also, the ego T was a surprisingly decent bit of kit. Tiny and light, and as I said, light-years better than the old ego. But on the old ego, I used a battery from it that hadn't been charged in at least two years, and it provided several hours of vaping, and also fits onto the ego T, making an even tinier ecig. The other ego battery I have also works, but just needs a charge.

It wasn't completely satisfying but it was good enough to keep me for five hours without a cig after work, and that's as well as having a few drinks, which is usually the time I would smoke several cigs. So, for $35 I don't regret it at all, and now it can be a reliable emergency backup. It would suit a light smoker well tho.

The bottom cover on the egrip is not completely sealed, i would try to avoid filling/draining the tank from the atomizer hole. [emoji4]
