Mike: As a smoker, I would go through a full pack of cigarettes between getting home from work and going to bed. That's pretty close to chain smoking ... and, I figure I probably vape about as much. Possibly less though, since with a cigarette I'd probably be actively smoking until it was done ... while with a PV I can take a hit or two and then set it down for a while.

I dunno. But, I DO understand you point. I'd be happy to trade that dorky looking LED tip for your beep any day, assuming it was very, very quiet.

Well, if you don't have a headache, stomach ache or hiccups, then you have not gotten close to too much nicotine.

Is the count important to you? You could get one of those things that fit in your palm that increment 1 count for each time it is pressed and then you would have something to count.

I may come off as flippant as I do not really understand why the number is important.

We get a lot of questions around here about how many puffs of an ecig equal a real cig, etc. In time, you'll realize that it doesn't really matter. If you use your ecig enough to keep you away from smoking those nasty cancer sticks, does it really matter?

Personally, I wouldn't want my ecig beeping at me. As it is, I prefer not to even have an LED.

Here and back
I totally understand the question. There is no longer a start/stop. I don't go outside for 5 minutes to smoke, now I "smoke" all the time. I think I'm getting more nicotine than with regular cigs. I have never been over weight and now find myself losing weight. I think maybe too much "smoking" e cigs. I laugh because there isn't a reason to stop!

Im only ingesting nicotine now - not 4 thousand other chemicals as well - its going to feel different than smoking a cancer stick was. i dont really care how much nic i get as long as its not making me ill tbh.
If you think that a 'real cig' is better then its your choice as an adult to go back and smoke them; I know which one *I* think is better, and thats really all I can tell ya :)

I am feeling much the same way, again not that i care I just am now waiting for an order from TV of juice and doubler so I can cut my strength down and kind of thinking of keeping one maybe even loaded with zero nicotine. I see no reason to worry about how much I am vaping but I actually was getting a headache for excessive nicotine last night

Your know yourself after years of smoking analogs how long it used to take you to smoke an analog. If your that concerned. Set a timer for that amount of time or a few extra minutes since you have to give it a few minutes between to cool off and then, when the timer goes off set it down. Seem simple enough in my opinion. However I'm not concerned at all, after smoking cancer sticks for 23+ years I am enjoying the he** out of my e-cig and the different flavors. I can't seem to set mine down and honestly don't really care if I do or not as long as its not making me sick.

Just my .02 worth

Just thought i would share. Before I totally gave up the cigs, I did a little test, I count that i smoked a cig with 10-14 puffs and then i remember how i felt relaxed full of nicotin and content. With my Ecig it is about 5 slow 5 second drags on it and i get the same feeling content and happy , maybe it isnt the same, but my head seems to think so, yeah play games with myself.....LOL

Dunno i read somewhere here that 3 drops we're more or less the same as 1 cig. So now i drip 3 drops at a time and voila!

Now only problem is i chain vape BUT i do wait quite a while between those vapes so im just re dripping 3 drops over when its "dry". Kinda defeat the purpose :p

I put no-nic in my cart so I can vape all day. Drip when I feel the urge to smoke with 24mg. 3 drops. And it's kept things at bay. Maybe try it? ^^ Then you can chain vape all ya want for flavor. When you feel like you want nicotine, drip again.

No beeping for me please!

I see your point and I'm sure most do as well. This is what I did (I'm a noob, so take this with a grain of salt), I started mixing my own juice to cut back on the strength. I mix 2 batches one with 18-24mg nic (depending on the liquid) and another batch that is 8-12 mg nic (had to go 8mg on the TV AC, I can't put that stuff down!). I puff on the lower strength liquid most of the time, but when I crave a throat hit (or more nic, usually signaled by craving an analog) I change carts for the higher nic and give it a few puffs. Once my craving is gone I go back to the lower nic juice. Haven't had a restless night since.

Or, a very small LCD to display the information. That technology is now so cheap it could be included without significantly impacting the price, it would seem to me. Pardon me, just thinking out loud, haha ... and the idea of a digital readout on my PV appeals to the gadget freak in me.

A small LCD would cost at most $3 more per battery. That would be ideal for tracking your vaping habit. It could easily keep daily stats that could be downloaded with the USB onto a website.

or

There's no reason you couldn't set these things to beep at whatever number of puffs you wanted. That would cost pennies per battery.
