I ordered my Stick from JantyUSA. Had it in my hands in three business days. (ordered like, on a wednesday, had it Monday)
Once again, I'm going to try to cover things not covered in the 10,000 other reviews on the Janty Stick
And I tell you what. I love the 510, and God bless the people out there in the forums defending their favorite thing in the world, but the Stick beats up and kicks sand all over the 510. I'm sorry. There is no comparison whatsoever. You can maybe try to get clouds of vapor almost as big as Janty Stick hits from a 510 if you mash your manual button and inhale as hard as you can, but I'm doing those clouds of vapor in short 3 second draws with zero effort. You are not going to get vapor production from a 510 atty on a e-cig battery that compares with a pen-style atomizer hooked up to a friggin e-cigar battery.
I can say in all honesty, when you sum up all of the things going for the Stick right now, there isn't a better PV you can get AS LONG AS size IS a consideration. And by that I mean, there are larger, heavier, more metalshop looking devices that will outperform it. But even then, the Janty Stick performance appears to be very close to the 100+ dollar boutique/mod PV's that bake atomizers to death. The design is brilliant. Take a huge atomizer, enclose it in a small case next to an e-cigar battery.
*huge vapor production
*cheap replacement parts
*long battery life
*compact size
*honest to goodness USB tethering out of the box
*looks like a nicotine inhaler rather than a cigarette or crackpipe. (that may or may not be a positive for you)
Plus, there are a variety of atomizers to choose from that ALL perform well. You got the Janty Classic which is fantastic, cheap dse801's from ruyandirect, or (what's becoming my favorite) be112's from bestecig, and a few others I haven't tried.
As for the "problems" people have been having I've seen two main gripes:
1) button on bottom comes loose.
2) Leaks liquid
The button thing appears to happen because the adhesive holding the very thin switch plate in place gets loose over time. I'm not terribly worried about this because I'd probably just reglue it. That is a consideration. I will say this though. If regluing it was NOT an option, my fix action would be to have two Janty Sticks. Dead serious. I may do that anyway. It's really that much better.
As for the leaky liquid thing, I swear it all has to do with overfilling. I had the issue myself briefly, and I changed how I topped off my carts. I don't drip because I don't see the point with an atomizer this big. The draw is ridiculously easy with the cart in place.
1) push tip of dropper onto top of cart material
2) squeeze juice into cart just until the top of the filler changes color
3) shake out access
I have had no problems with a leaky stick since. Granted, I'm doing something strange with my carts. I shred teabag material into long skinny strips, then pack it in slightly tight next to my version of a straw mod. I fill with the top of the straw. Liquid goes down the straw and fills up the cart from the bottom. That's why step 3 up there is part of my routine.
The only other gripe some people have is price, but I have some startling information. The Janty Stick *for me* would have been cheaper than anything else as an end-to-end solution. Let me throw some real world numbers at you based upon what I've actually bought to cover my vaping habit:
Dura-C kit: 60 bucks
Two Spare 510 batteries: 20 bucks
Five spare 510 Atomizers: 35 bucks
USB Pass-through that doesn't suck: 30 bucks
Total: 145
Janty Stick: 80
Two Spare e-cigar batteries: 6 bucks
Five Spare 801 Atomizers: 27 bucks
USB Pass-through that doesn't suck: 0 (included)
Total: 113
That's significantly cheaper for a vastly superior vaping experience.
I used to recommend the j118's to new people. Then I started recommending the 510's. Now I recommend the Janty Stick. At this point in time it has no equal.
PS: This doesn't mean you shouldn't have a good backup, and I can't think of a better one than a 510 tucked in a drawer/glovebox/purse/pocket/etc
