I feel a need for this thread:

I have to say I have had alot of trouble trying to quit smoking. The Patch, Nicorette even prescription drugs. Nothing worked. And although e-cigs are "technically" not a stop smoking device I believe it has helped alot more of us out than we recognize.

So if everyone who has completely stopped smoking due to the e-cig make one post, we can get a honest running total on how many of us this has truly helped. Maybe even be able to show someone out there who wants to ban this how truly important it is to keep going.

Just my thoughts. It has made a big difference in my life and it has been less than a month. I thank e-cigs. Lets here who else it has helped.

Only those who have completely quit smoking please.

I "accidentally" quit as well. On the 23rd of March I picked up my NPRO with a medium cartridge. I never had another desire for an "analog" and within the week pretty much went to 0 nicotine. Imagine my surprise that after 2.5-3 packs/day that it wasn't the nicotine but, the oral fixation or psychological addiction. I do love my e-cigs, my family is thrilled all except for one cat (I think she was addicted to the nicotine-LOL). Best thing that ever happened to me.

my wife and i took one NPRO between us and about 20 carts on vacation. We swore with all the activity and an alternative to smoking while we were there, that we would not buy any analogs ever again, not there, or after we got back.

That was a month ago. we both haven't smoked since a day before we got on the plane. After 15 years, we just up and never touched another one thanks to our NPRO... This is the honest truth too. Haven't touched a single one.... Now if i even smell a cigarette, it really turns me off, disgusting and i can't believe i ever smoked.

so, chalk up TWO of us using only ONE super mini type ecig.. We think the things are a godsend.

I did not use an e-cig to quit smoking, I used one to keep from going back to smoking.

My last 'analog' was the morning of January 1, 2009. I quit smoking using Chantix. Towards the end of January, the Chantix pills started making me a bit crazy (crazier than my normal self). I was ready to go back to Marlboro's but instead got an RN4081 from Smoking Everywhere.

I am proud to say I still have not smoked an 'analog' since 1/1/09 and I credit e-cigs 100%. I still get urges to smoke but vaping fills those urges completely.

My first smoke free day was 4/13/09 and still haven't touch an analog to date. I do still have about a pound of tobacco and 2 cartons of cig tubes at hand, left over from MYO days but have not touched it. Maybe I'll find some good use of it through vaping some day. This is a more expensive route for me though. I used to average about $2 a pack of smokes (1 to 1 1/2 pack a day x-smoker) now my running total is over a grand!!! This experimenting with what works is burning a hole in my pocket. Hope to find THE one that will work for the rest of my vaping life. I started out with 901 kit + parts, then 401 kit + parts. So far due to the ban scare, I've stocked up on 901 atm (25 pieces), and more than 100ml of juice. GG and dura-c on order as well as gadgets for my MODs (hope not to burn my fingers, this will be my first time to solder, EVER...). No wonder I'm broke. But hey... I'm breathing sooo much better. THANKS EFC (for my education in vaping) !!!

I first bought a Dura which was OK, but was really surprised that i dropped from 20 a day down to 3-5 a day overnight, but after a couple of weeks one of my batteries died and was told i would have to wait 3-4 weeks for a replacement, so after a week of vaping on one battery my analog intake went back up to about 15 a day, i couldn't stand it any longer and wanted to find something more reliable and consistent, did some research and discovered the Screwdriver, from the first day i received it i haven't touched an analog and its been 11 weeks and 2 days, from when i first got my Dura i enjoyed vaping more than smoking, it seemed to me that vaping is what smoking should be like, a much more pleasurable experience and since i got my SD i have not missed or craved a cigarette whatsoever, the actual thought of smoking sickens me now because of all the chemicals and crap that are in them, i know vaping probably isn't risk free but it has a much cleaner feel to it and has made me feel healthier, i also think when you find the device that suits you the best you have to find your right nic intake, myself i use 24mg as a daily and on the evenings usually 36mg for an extra kick and something to look forward to.
Anyhow i'm just pleased that this is the only time in my life when i have quit smoking and do not have to go through each day constantly thinking about cigarettes, long may we be able to vape.:D

I quite smoke exactly 30 days ago today, the day I got my joye 510. (yay me) I haven't had an analog since that day. The 1st week or 2 I did get a few funny urges for an analog but nothing like I had experienced with other NRT or good lord help me cold turkey.

With my e-cig I know I will never smoke again.

DH also quit when he received his DSE-901, Which was just a few days after me. He has smoked a couple of analogs but only because he was working in the garage and his hands where dirty. We still had an open pack and he didn't want to grease up his new cig.
