On further investigation open source hardware doesn't completely exist in a sense that you can protect a design. Looks like for example scubatdan should/could put a patent on his tank design. Or because he has so much of the work done on it can apply for "patent pending" for fairly cheap. Until later guess we have to live with the vultures stealing the ideas and designs of others.

im pretty sure raidy has some sort patent or something on the genisis design. and he had stated its alright to do co-ops and such, but doesent want anyone profiting off his investment and hard work

not saying dan doesnt have a lot of time and effort in his design, but it is a branch off from raidys genisis

gotcha guess that is why we don't see many mass produced tanks floating around for 200+ dollars

I really thought long and hard about whether or not to post in this thread. I have a Domain name that I would have no issues designing a "private" forum that could include a donation page/account to fund patents. The problem is the cost of a patent in the US. A weak patent WITHOUT attorneys fees is around 1500. A strong one WITH an attorney to help can go as high as 10K.

As for suppliers positioning for a buck, sadly it is going to happen. I personally find it DEPLORABLE, but many find it easy to take advantage of another persons sweat to make a quick buck. Thankfully in this community most people in the know can spot a copy fast and most avoid it. Sturm, Dan, Raidy, POC, Gummy, and all the others that have given LARGE portions of their lives to better the vaping community deserve better than this.

I believe that if all of the modders here and in a few other places banded together GREAT things could happen, and my offer will stand till we can. I would only ask that another person took control of the donation account as I do not want to get involved with the cash portion of the deal.

We would have to have a list of sub forums and possible features you would like to see for my wife to set up the forum, and start a list of names and passwords (pm'ed to me) so I could get a list going but it would be doable. It could act as a more private central database and start point for logistics for co-ops. Please let me know what you think. Input from raidy and a few others (Scuba) would be a good thing here. Please remember that some of us suppliers are vapers before ANYTHING else, not all of us are in it for a quick buck at anothers expense.
