I'm thinking of buying my first mod and have been looking at the VMOD. I've done some research here but some of the threads are hundreds of pages long. It makes it difficult to get and real opinions. It seems to me the biggest con is that it uses proprietary attys and cartos, but if the hybrid attys are as advertised, I don't see that being a huge problem. Has anyone tried it? Can share their opinions and/or experience? Thanks

The VMod is a great little mod. Some would call me a fanboy. The full kit comes with the Silo Carto & Hybrid Atomizer, so you can try both. I like the Hybrid Atty myself. The VMod packs a great punch, all while using a 14500 battery. There are two colors available in the standard kits, black or chrome, but there are accessory shells available in a rainbow of colors. I've recommended the VMod to other ECF Vets, & many now use it as their go-to mod. It fits in a pocket & is all mechanical. Vapage stands behind it too, so if you need any help, they are there.

I just got mine in the mail - so far I love it, although I think I don't quite have the hang of it yet. It seems too hard to pull using the 2.0 atty it came with compared to the 2.2 silo cartomizer. Maybe it's because I'm using Malty Toffee from BWB with the atty, and I used a 100% PG juice with the carto? Either way, I'm really impressed with it so far - I can't wait to order some lower resistance atty's - I have a couple 1.5's I use with my ego passthrough, and I don't feel like I'm getting the same heat or flavor out of the vmod yet.

The Vmod is a great little feeder mod. And, the hybrid atty's are part of the charm. The 1.8 and 2.2 carto's aren't bad either!

It's a pretty sophisticated little vape machine. I love it's pocket friendlyness and the fact that it's all mechanical. I like it enough that I have been one of the people asking Vapage to make a bigger one!

What is also nice is that Vapage now has a complete kit -- with batteries & charger. Makes shopping easier.

i'm lovin mine, it hits perfect, very pocket friendly, and excellent flavor with the carto's! But got one lil issue, if I put the cone on to hold the sleeve down, it leaks. If I use it without the sleeve or the cone no leaks, so I don't know what's goin on:confused: The gaskets are in place!! Any insight???

Go to this thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-video-reviews/195396-vmod.html and you will get help to get it figured out. The VModians are an awesome bunch and so eager to help out anybody needing it

The Vmod is a great lil bottom feeder! It was my first mod and it would be my only one if they came out with vv.. It does have a slight learning curve as all bf's do, but it is slight. I like the silo's better than the atty's as I like a somewhat cooler vape. The nice thing about these is there are options. Yes there is the small proprietary thing w/atty's and carto's but just about any 510 can be modded to work here. No more than you would, say for a tank :).. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the ego had some proprietary stuff also? Thought I'd read it somewhere in this forum a while back. Could be wrong tho. The customer service rocks and they stand behind their product 110%. They go above and beyond to make their vmodians happy campers :) JMHO !

I waited to buy because of the proprietary issue- but I have to say
this mod has replaced all my others (which have been sold, except for my fistpak).
You can use std 501 gear: as is- but you can't bottom feed- OR mod the cartos with holes to allow for bottom feeding.
HOWEVER- I find the silos work much better than even DC coils.
Best 14500 mod I have ever used...!

Yes and no. The eGo T atty uses a sort of proprietary connection, but you can also use anything 510 on those same batteries. I've never tried a smaller 510 battery screwed in to the bottom of an eGo personally, but I have seen it done for demonstration purposes. Looked goofy as hell, but it worked.

Putting an eGo T atty on a ProVari requires an adapter, apparently a spacing issue with the larger body of the atty.

So in a way it's proprietary for the atty, but certainly not for the battery. I'm using a dual coil 510 carto topped with a Drip on Demand right now. If it had been all-up proprietary, and I could only get the atty/carto from one or two places, I'd have never bought it. The fact that it's possible to mod a standard 510 carto to fit wouldn't cut it for me - too many others out there that can use it without the hassle. But that's just me... You may not see it the same.

ETA I hadn't seen Proax's comment. OK, i'ts not necessary to mod to be able to use a 510 at all - so that's not as bad as I thought it was.

I'm not voting positive on it at this time. There are a number of reasons, but in all fairness I'm still evaluating, let's just say that so far the negatives dominate. Battery life is one factor, and that ties in to others. I have two new units sitting here, meaning two bodies, two 2.0 attys, two 2.2 cartos, with a couple of 1.5 atomizers and a red add-on shell - a pretty fair sampling. I'm puzzled by the enthusiastic endorsements. To be specific I'm chain vaping much of the time, and have recently been happily using mostly eGo batteries and EchoE, Boge 2.0, CE2 and EMDCC cartos, and my juice is 85% VG, 10% H2O and 5% flavoring.
