My current wick was oxidized using Jackfost method. So quick, compete, and easy it felt like cheating.
I typically dry burn every 2-3 days to freshen up performance & flavor. I am on over a week with zero dry burns. Considering how little heat treating it takes, I think the wick might last much longer. Why it is performing so well without having to dry burn is a mystery, but I like it!
