Recently received my 2.1 and I have to say I love the size options. 18650 for my regular vape and 16340's left over from my 1.1a for out and about. This thing is stellar and my poor GGTS/Ody just sits.

I've tried using 30AWG with a 6/5 wrap like I do on my Ody and it works, but so much harder to wrap with wick installed. Read something about using a larger diameter "tool" to wrap and install the wire first, then "drop" the wick in afterwards. Anyone try this in the orion yet?

Also tried same setup with both a "U-shaped" silica wick (from Ody) and slanted silica wick and once broken in, seems to provide better vapor, but less flavor... (even worse with u-shaped wick)

What's the consensus on plugging the 2nd wick hole? Mine seems to work better with it in terms of vapor/flavor, but doesn't wick as well. (i can lay it on it's side for an extended period of time though!)

Lastly, for those who chain vape (like me), I cut up a used carto condom and put it over the mouthpiece and it helps quite a bit! (no more burned lips!)

Nice,
I use 30 kanthal with 4 wraps, I slowly wrap it tight, but I do it off the orion on the wick.
Yes the battery options are awesome.
The drip tip, I use a tip from a ego mega dual coil carto.

I would say, I have had non-modified Orions (and Lines) produce as much vapor as any "opened" air hole mod. It is a matter of wicking correctly, coil setup, air hole alignment to coil. I have a Zenesis to compare it to, and yes it makes more vapor consistently, but I think it lacks in flavor a little in comparison to a tighter draw atty like the Orion or Line.

I just drill mine with a drill bit. It is pretty easy... for the air hole. If you want to drill the mouthpiece, consider a soft vice and some oil to cool the bit.

But I wouldn't do it without a little experimenting first. Try cutting the bottom out of a 5 or 6ml plastic juice bottle. Drill the hole you want, and screw that down replacing your top cap. Try vaping it. See if you like it. Once you drill your Orion, it is like that for a long time.

What size o rings do I need to order for replacing the stock tank with Pyrex?

Guess that depends on the internal size of the Pyrex?

I use the same size o-rings that are stock for the quartz tanks I have. 12.5mm x 1.5mm They work fine, do not leak, and the glass tank slide on/off easier. Let it sit and it seals right up.

Its a acrylic mouth piece, I turned it on my lathe, I need to get more sand paper to shine it up

You have a lathe :cough: I am jealous :)

That is very cool!

So I opened my V2.1 wick air hole slightly, using a 1mm bit, and I rocked it a little (if that makes sense). It is in fact better, without losing flavor. I do not wish to go any bigger, as there is a fine line. The Zenesis is to open for my liking, it blows plumes, but tends to lack in the flavor intensity of the Orion & Line (IMO).
