Got my Orion today. This thing looks amazing. I love the button.

First order though is drilling out the air hole. Man this is a tight draw.

I have that done on one of mine, and want to do another, but I am afraid. Lots of people say to leave it for a bit and see how you feel about it. It definitely intensifies the flavor a bit.

let me know how you do it.

I finally got one of my 2.1's set up today. I gotta say I'm really impressed with this thing! I some experience with rebuildables. I have only played with my Orion for a couple of hours, but I can tell already that it will retain a solid spot in my vaping rotation. Here's a few thoughts about my new toy, from a newbie perspective:

Flavor is off the charts with this thing. Wow! For a second there I thought juice was leaking out onto my tongue, it was that intense. Nope, just delicious Bounty Hunter Flavor!

Fit and finish is great. Threads are nice and smooth, the button press is great, and fires every time. Short mode is tiny, and awesomely awesome! The whole thing feels nice in the hand. The screw on top gives confidence. Would prefer to have the option to use my own drip tip, but the built in one is nice and comfy.

Draw is really tight. When I was toying with it before loading juice, coil and wick I thought I would hate it. Vaping it was a nice surprise. I don't mind it nearly as much as I thought.

The tank is a little small for my taste. But I can work with it.

Anyway, there's a few thoughts from a couple of hours of vaping. So far I really like it, and I'm glad that I grabbed two of them. I LOVE that you have short and standard mode in one unit. I'm really glad I decided to jump in and see what all of the fuss is about!

If I was to drill anything, it would only be the air hole.

I drilled mine to 1/16" and I do not lung inhale. It makes plenty of vapor in a 2-3 second inhale and the flavor is great. It is definitely more intense with the smaller inlet, but not so much more that I wanted to keep the tight draw. :)

How does it compare to a zenesis?

How does it compare to a zenesis?

I think both are great versions of genesis atties. I have had much more time to play with the Zenesis than I have with the Orion so any serious analysis would be a little premature on my part. My initial impressions are that I love both of them, but I'll need more time with the Orion to have an informed opinion.

Shooting from the hip, I'd say you could not go wrong with either. Both will give you a fantastic Genesis experience. I wanted to try the Orion, basically to see how other offerings stacked up to the Zenesis. So far I am very pleasantly surprised at how well the Orion is stacking up. I'm not sure it would be constructive to post how much I love my Zens in an Orion thread, or vice versa. I will start a stand alone thread comparing and contrasting my experiences with both once I get to know them both equally.

So far I love both of these (A)PV's. Would I recommend a Zenesis to someone interested in Gennie atties? Absolutely. Would I recommend an Orion 2.1 to that same person with the experience I've had? Whole heartedly. Would I recommend either to a vaping newbie? Not on your life. :D

Great comments Fili!

For those coming from zenesis, the draw is going to be tight. If flavor is more important than vàpor, I would caution you to vape it for a week (exclusively) before drilling. The air mix is critical IMO for flavor. Get too much and it tastes like a carto. Les has said many times he will not offer replacement caps.

Les really hit the mark with his design for us flavor junkies. Being Orion burst my genni cherry, the bar has been set darned high. Once you are set up right and seasoned, it produces decent plumes too.
