Great comments Fili!

For those coming from zenesis, the draw is going to be tight. If flavor is more important than vàpor, I would caution you to vape it for a week (exclusively) before drilling. The air mix is critical IMO for flavor. Get too much and it tastes like a carto. Les has said many times he will not offer replacement caps.

Les really hit the mark with his design for us flavor junkies. Being Orion burst my genni cherry, the bar has been set darned high. Once you are set up right and seasoned, it produces decent plumes too.

I agree, that air hole is critical. Not sure if I want to drill mine out or not. Flavor is great the way it is.

The ZattyG - had to be drilled out to 5/64 for me to enjoy it the most, the DID - I have those at 1/16 and stock. Would like to try a cap at 5/64 though.

Far as setups - I cant see where one is any more difficult than the other - all three are exactly the same with center post and wick placement. Anchor bottom wire, wrap the coil and you are done.

not a review, just my personal opinion so take it for what it's worth. I most likely won't let go of these 2 devices at the moment. It is not a comparison per se, more like independent self opinion. I do like bottom buttons however, a side button is dumb proof so yea.. it's your choice.

Orion 2.1:

-orion is a great apv
-looks BOSS on 18350!
-great flavor.
-easy set up
-lots of vapor (less than the zenesis)
-good quality, though i might tweak the finish a little
-tighter draw. someone coming from another device wouldnt need to adjust to the draw.
-sturdy
-flexible

Zenesis: (open draw cap AYS)

-zenesis is a great apv
-easy to set up
-good flavor
-huge amount of vapor, you'll choke yourself to death lol
-looser draw. Coming from a different device, one needs to get the hang of it. When you figure it out, you'll appreciate it!
-better "raw materials" finish is great
-top cap is flexible, a simple turn to adjust the throat hit though one can accidentally knock it off and ruin your perfect coil LOL.
-not as sturdy as the orion, could need a stand
-quartz tank while "pretty" is a little fragile
-switch is great in my opinion though some people need further adjustment
-wobbly when standing up

These 2 are on top of the chain when it comes to commercially available hybrids in my opinion. The amount of usage varies where i'm at i guess.. if i'm out, i'll probably vape on the zenesis with a poly tank, AYS has a 5ml tank. Though you can tweak the button to add orings, springs or what not to make it sturdy, i dont want to mess with it. Don't sneeze infront of an upright zenesis unless you have back up tanks..

would i buy them both again? fu5k yeah!

I love these 2 devices for different reasons. Some people complain, i don't. if you think the zen's draw is too airy, use a smaller hole drip tip! If you think orion is too tight, bore it out.

If one is having problems with shorts on orion, this is what i do. Before i roll my mesh, i oxidize the hell out of it first. roll, burn vg juice a lot of times. No need for insulators period.

wait, let me put my flame jacket on because these 2 devices might go if i score a hybrid hellfire HA HA HA!

I agree 99.5%. I actually prefer the side button as it allows me to hold it like a cigar. That said, I do prefer the reliability of a bottom, and my out and about is the Orion with 18350. Great write up! BTW, you can accomplish the same adjustability of throat hit by rotation the Orion's cap as well.

yep but i screw my tank super tight to line up the wick. I know there are run arounds like orings and such but i prefer it without the extra oring.. talk about trade offs! id rather have my zenesis with threaded top cap ha! :D

I LOVE the size of the Orion v2.1..especially in small mode...and the finish is great...light too.... tank is a little small but still good...it does run a bit hot for me... and the mouthpiece and top section will be very hot on your lips and cheeks if you run too hot (at least it did me)....i think i am at 5 wraps and it is less but still warm....

im considering a dual coil set up...never doen anything like that though....id be curious to hear from people who have tried...

if i do 2 wicks can i go less wraps on each?

thanks all!

easy for you to say. your good at everything. I mess everything us as you know quite well :)

At least you try, you'll get better at it, it takes time to develop modding skills because you are generally working on really small objects. Kinda like watch making only not nearly as complicated or intricate ;)

Thanks. It appears the tanks I got suck..
3 will just drop on, no chance in ever sealing they're so loose. The forth was so tight it split in half installing.

That's not good news. :(

I dropped about $50 for 3 Orion & 1 Katana tanks over there. Still waiting for them to ship...

Guys, do you have any flavor loss using 100% VG on #400? Was vaping on bobas and had a flavor loss. Like it didn't taste like bobas. But when i drip onto the HH357's i get bobas.

Do i need to get #325? Thanks!

No, #400 should work well with Boba's, you need to adjust the heat, less wraps = more heat to get the flavor out. Also, make sure your connections are very good. You may want to tighten the spring down a bit to make sure the kanthal is good and secure.
