After a simple 1/8th turn of the top nut (thanks lorderos), my Orion started pumping out PLUMES of vapor. And the flavor got even better; something I didn't think possible as this was already the best tasting atty ever.

I simply love this PV!

It is a bit finicky but, every rba I've ever owned has had it's own set of quirks to learn. I just chalk it up to that.

Similar here, Orion w/electrodes, but huge real estate compared to a Line. :D

The switch was why I gave up my v2s. I'm electronically ......ed :p
I have heard a GG or prodigy v3 switch work. Can anyone confirm either?

The switch has made it a quicker build for Les. Hearing about switch failures concerned me. Not sure if it's user error (constant accidental firing or extended dry burning) or construction issues. I know on the v2, they could roll and the button would activate. Why the switches are failing in the v2.1 is baffling since the button is recessed.

I really like the original mechanical switch, but Les took such a beating over it. The mods are many and are über simple, but the UK forum raked him over the coals. Pity. I talked to him about a simple fix and I hope he considers & brings back his design. It is elegant & simple.

I'm with you - electronically ......ed. GG base w/switch will fit, but only use that as a safety thing. Both buttons need to be pressed then to activate. So using it as all mechanical doesnt work. Too bad, if it did I would have a GGTS base on it now.

As to why switches are failing - electronics all will fail sooner or later. Not a question of if but when

Ahhh, but if you were to remove the switch and get a allen button head M2 bolt, adjust to needed length ... 18650 + GGTS base switch = step child mech mod. Either way, in a pinch, it would not be hard to make a mech switch for it. However, I really like the sleekness of it with the Pailpoe switch, and will use it like that as long as I can, even if it means purchasing new switches. I actually thought of cannibalizing my ProVari for its switch and seeing what I can do with it... and am watching to see what Pailpoe comes out with and evolve...

I believe my switch failed because liquid leaked into it and got into the micro switch... I didn't take pics, but it wasn't pretty.

Whoa.

Almost went into a nic coma, heart was beating so fast... first attempt at a twisted coil with the supplied .17mm?? Kanthal... had a hard time keeping the coil wet, .......n. With the 1/16" intake, it produces a huge amount of vapor. I thought it was good before, I hate to sound like a broken record, but .......n... Tried to take a vid but the house has such poor lighting... have to do one during the day. Maybe Sunday, got work tomorrow and Saturday.

Probably not going to be able to sleep for a while, LOL.

I do not know why or how, but I am having crazy shorting problems with my 1.1 mechanical. Tierrataz, I am hoping you can interject.

the spring collapsed.
Ob, I have an original. I'm not sure what mods have been done to yours. A pic maybe of the head and inside the tube? These were sold as a mod kit and there have been many different things done to them.

Congrats!!! I hope set up is a breeze. ;-)

Yep got it going and I love it. First coil got bright hot a lot on top and bottom coil. I broke it moving it around. 2nd coil worked great right away. Is that 32 kanthal that came with it? Wasn't sure so I just used it.

I love the screw on top. Just makes the entire unit more solid feeling. Don't have to worry about where I grab it when I pick it up. In 18650 mode it's shorter than my Zenesis ays with a ming tip. In 18350 it's impossibly small.

The top gets hot though and I hope I don't sear my lips after I've had too much to drink.

I was expecting a tight draw but the draw is fine. I won't need to change it.

I'm very happy and already wish I ordered two.

Thanks to tierrataz and yellowman who got me looking into the Orion!

Question:

I received my first Orion today, got it set up and producing vapor on the first attempt (thanks for the tips tierrataz), when the cap is off it is a little chimney, when I screw the cap on (hole lined up with wick), I get very little vapor.

What is the proper way to draw on the Orion, hard and fast or slow and easy?

Thanks.
