Hi grruss! We have to stop running into each other like this. I think you'll really enjoy your orion. It's just a great device.

Okay. Now I have read all of June & July's posts. I traded for Lexi's 2.1 and it is winging its way to me as I type. I am looking forward to playing with this new little toy. I'll be around here a bit for the next little while, I suspect. Lots of good info here. Too bad about UK Vapers still though.

I'm hoping it is. (Lexi got a sweet deal.) Vape mail expected today. Pretty excited. 18350's are all charged and ready to go.

Finally picked up my Orion after it had been resting in the PO since early July. Nice build! I have most of my Genisis supplies at my buddies, so I unrolled a Zen wick to fit, re oxidized and then put a square of cig paper on. Wrapped a 3 coil because I crave heat and burnt the paper off. I figured I'd give that method a go to try it.

Seems to be working good, although I need to tweak the air hole placement; may use the extra o-ring until I find time to sand it.

Mine just arrived. WOW!! TINY!!! How stealthy do you wanna be? Thanks for having a coil pre-wrapped, Lexi. Lovin' it so far. How "pocketable" is this thing (2.1). Looks like it should be fine.

If you don't mind plugging the 2nd wick hole, it's highly pocketable, if not, it leaks like pretty much any genesis. The downside is tighter draw (no big deal for me), and tougher wicking with thicker juices. Mine usually sits in the "little front pocket" of my jeans! At least that's my experience...

I want to try this. What do you plug the other hole with? Mesh?

I pocket mine all the time, just have to be careful not to tip it over or you will have a pocket full of juice. The button has yet to fire in my pocket though.

I ended up putting the extra o-ring on (on the bottom thread right?). W/ that I noticed the hole lined up w/ the other wick hole better, so I wrapped another coil. This time a 4 wrap. I didn't like it as much as the 3, but using it this morning I'm digging it so far. It obviously doesn't run quite as hot; more mellow but nice. I may keep it here for a while. And did I say how much I love the 18350 mode?!

Patch, you can use a rare earth magnet ring. Get a disk or ring magnet from Gaussboys Super Magnets - Neodymium Magnets and Rare Earth Magnets

Search UA72riddle's posts on youtube, he shows adding the magnet to the base so the 16340 make contact at the bottom cap. The V1 and V2 bottom caps are different.

If you have trouble, let me know, I have a few magnets that would work. I could mail you a couple.

Here is UA's video: Orion genisis modified by Pailpoe - YouTube

Look @ 3:45

jolly and keegan - thank you so much for the detailed feedback! just got home from a long shift from work. upon waking i will definitely check out the video and the magnet site and pick up what i need! i am enjoying the v2 a bit so i am eager to see what the original can do. it is so helpful that you provided so many links - you are kind for going to such effort.

anyone use his Orion 2.1 with stacked 18350? I tried but the coil pop. I'm wondering how many turn I should do to use it at 7.4 volts...

Any idea?

You will more than likely Zap the PCB in the unit. I would avoid that and wrap for 3.7/4.2v

No, but I've stacke LiFePO's for 6 volts with no problems. Have trouble getting enough wraps around the coil to not blow a hole in the back of my throat that way, though ;)

Patch, if you check Daniel's Blo (http://orionressources.blogspot.com/p/lorion.html), you'll see that there's a spring that's supposed to be in the bottom cap. I personally would take UA72 and Jolly's recommendation of the magnet, but until you get your hands on one, you can try the spring. If you don't have one suitable, you can take a straightened paperclip and wrap it around a pair of pliers to make a coiled spring. Depending on the length of the paperclip, you may need to cut it to fit right, but I've used this method in the past to keep my GGTS running until I could get a replacement battery spring.
