It should be fine. Les recommended his twisted coil, 3 wrap with the orion original which runs 16340 ICR.

Cool thanks for the info. The orion was already my favorite pv of all time and this just stepped it up even more.

questions.

1) what dimensions do most of you cut your mesh to? I am finding that mine almost overwick and too much juice is getting pulled up. This is causing the vapor to not fire as hot. I have been using 4 or 5 wraps.

2) what does the twisted coil do for you? Can I use any of the kanthal wires when doing this?

3) how many wraps do most of you use? I know some do three. Is that too hot? I use five on my others and it seems to be fine.

thanks!

1) 30mm wide. I slightly pinch the top; don't know that it's necessary but I don't overwick..

2) Twisted coils offer lower resistance giving more warmth/vapor by the looks of it. I'd use a thin gauge like the one Les included.

3) I use a 4/3 wrap like 'emonty' of 32g kanthal. If you like the heat from a 5 wrap I'd stick w/ it. Now if you use the twisted coil w/ a 4/3 wrap of 32g kanthal, it'll be roughly 1-1.3ohms. That's why I'm going to use the wire Les gave us. That's a little too low resistance for me. Don't want the batts to overheat.

I twisted some of the wire tonight so it'll be ready when I need to make a new coil ;)

so I am used to taking longer pulls. I assume with the three wrap, you would take short ones?

and by 3/4 you mean three are showing on the main side? can you take a pic?

Hi Ob,

picture for you, it looks like the top part of the wick and coil is touching the center-post, but that is the angle of the picture, I have been using this setup for almost a month now and it works like a charm.

Terry's glass tanks are absolutely perfect. I just noticed that the one I got actually lines up perfect with the air hole and the second tank I got lines up perfect with the airhole but then when you have it setup with the other wick hole. So basically two options for the two wick hole configurations.
I did find though that the top of the glass tank is a tiny bit below the top part of the top o-ring which causes it to leach liquid through, a very small amount but resolved it by using a different oring, a tiny bit thicker one and now it is totally not leaking anymore, the tank is perfectly snug and lined up with the airhole and no leaking at all.

Exactly what size o-ring do you use w/ the glass tanks? I'll be getting some on the the next batch and would like to know.

thanks emonty.

question for the experts. I am getting muted flavor with one of mine and have checked all the usual things. I am not sure how to proceed.

I read that some of you have had problems with the screw above the spring not being tightened enough. How far do you tighten this down?

any other hints would be appreciated.

btw, the switch on that one seems to be firing intermittently as well now.

I had ordered 100 assorted sizes o/rings and found them in the bag. They are a little smaller then the original one´s, but a little fatter, that way they are sealing the tank better
