OK hi everyone im new to the thread and have read through allot of it so far but i have a question.. I’ve read all or a lot of the tricks that people have posted to avoid getting shorts on the Orion. And one that I read was drilling the area that the wick travels through and adding an insulator to keep the wick from touching the SS….Now that sounds good and all but I don’t want to drill the deck if this will work… So has anyone tried using the heat shrink tubing around the area of the wick that travels through the orions deck? Because I was waning to try it because I think I could do it with the right size heat shrink, and without having to drill the hole to a larger diameter.
Looks like the mega? The mini has incredible flavor. I can't speak to the mega.
I have tried 3 things that match the Orion for flavor.

could it be the smaller topcap chamber @JollyRogers?
Reports of "punching TH" & "hot vape" scared me off the mini. Neither of which I am after.Looks like the mega? The mini has incredible flavor. I can't speak to the mega.

great flavor tierra, depends on your setup. I run mine at 7 watts with very delicate flavors, not hot at all and a mild THReports of "punching TH" & "hot vape" scared me off the mini. Neither of which I am after.

Did you keep it? Good to know, and I'll see if I can change my order to a mini. ;-)
no need for drilling or adding anything, oxidize your wick correctly, that is all!!
OK that did not help me lol. Thanks though… But i just want the extra backup so that i know every time there will be no hot spots. And thats even if my baby is crying, and im rushing through trying to get it running.. I like tinkering with things and if i can make it easier on myself while at the same time not affecting anything ells.. It would be crazy not to.. Otherwise that would be kind of like saying..??? Ohhh you don’t need to go and get disk brakes for your old car, because the car works just fine with drum brakes on all 4 tires. However it is really nice having the disk brakes because the car stops a lot easier and safer… lol So I just wanted to know if using the heat shrink wrap around the coil (in the area that goes through the deck only) would cut of the wicking abilities or anything like that?

I understand bro, but Les designed the Orion to work perfect without insulator. Yes it can be done but by doing that you will have a difference in the overall experience. the different factors: wick hole, size mesh, coils, airflow all are in line and by adding an insulator you will have to make a different wick (smaller width) and by doing that the hole in the wick and the way the capillary action works changes also. It will work but not 100%. You will be able to vape it, sure and if an easy setup is key, that is one way of doing it. I personally don't like tinkering either, I spend some time and effort making the perfect wick which will last for months and might be for even longer and I am done, have the best flavor and never have to worry. If my coil pops, it takes 20 second to wrap a new one. If yours breaks, you will have to do the same, so no benefit at all IMHO if you look at the whole picture.
maybe I missed it, but did anyone ever list all the parts needed to mod the negative and positive switches. I mean both?
I want to give this a try.
