Hey Guys,
I just got my orion V2.1 and have popped 4 coils already. Any tips to avoid this, as I am ready to vape the hell out of it. lol... I am wrapping just like any other Genesis atty 3/4 wrap and it pops as soon as I hit the button on the top at the possitive screw. I have no problems with any of my ZEN's, ihybrid, Did ect.
Thanks,
Chris
Using a weak battery usually does the trick until things bed in and what not.
Oxidation is also key for the wick and where it goes down into the wick hole. Also, make sure there are no machining burrs at the base of the wick hole that may be digging into your wick. I had one like this and had to de-burr it. Keeping the wick straight in the wick hole can help also.
And then there is cheating (but if you are not cheating, you aren't trying)... Take a little cotton to the wick where it just goes through the hole to act as an insulator. Not much at all. Can use a 100% cotton ball, and just where it goes into the wick hole use the wick to grab & wrap a little cotton around it. It works to help isolate the wick from the body, but isn't necessary for a properly oxidized wick. I have done this if doing a new wick and in a hurry for whatever reason. I don't care for it under the coil though, as it tends to over wet the coil, and you also have to worry about burning it if it gets dry.
