Orion v3 is it still a hybrid?

has anyone that owns an orion v3 removed the muffler??? I read somewhere on a post made by nosmoker that it can be removed.....does anyone know where to get spare tanks for it...I was lucky enough to score one of these but both of my tanks got damaged... one shattered and one cracked in transit so I'm ..... out of luck....lol sorry for the off topic but didn't want to start a new thread on the orion v3..

I have removed my "muffler" as it just pulls right out, can be raised higher and/or pushed in to sit pretty low. I have mine pointing at the base of my coils, but vaped with it out for a bit. As far as the tanks, same as the V2 as far as I can tell. I have a few I got from Bedazzled a while back when I needed them for my V2. I checked them against the ones that came with my V3, and they appear to be the same. I can measure them with my micrometer tomorrow to make sure...

Thanks jolly Im waiting for Ibt to return my message....I also contacted spectrum but sez he can't help me with the 20mm because its quartz, what ever that means??? Will try to remove my muffler tommorrow, does it function better with out it??

I don't think it does, but you never know. I found it to be about the same as running wide open. I expect you'll also have some leaking through the airhole. I actually find it runs best with the middle air setting. Though with a 2.1 cap lined up just left of the wick, I get a noticeable amount more of vapor, it seems to reduce the flavor slightly. The coil is getting air from multiple sides with the 2.1 cap, which is increasing vapor. I haven't played with coil I have right now (2Ω 32g), just airflow and muffler positions. Was planning on trying some different coils, but this one is working well @ 11 -12W. Les suggests a lower ohm coil ~1.5Ω @ 8w. I usually run a 1Ω 28g on my 2.1 with a bog rat top cap and 1.2mm, as a comparison. My vape style is 4-5 second lung hits.

I tried to pull on my muffler and can't get it to budge! Don't what to damage it with pliers...does it have to be pulled a certain way to get it out??....lol

I used jewelry pliers (they don't have teeth/serrated edges). I just wiggled/rotated mine back and forth is all, and then it came free. Yours is just pushed down tight. Be careful, it is small and easy to lose. Also easy to get a new one. Les lists the size somewhere, and you can just replace it.

No jolly I haven't got the tanks yet...I'm going to try today, from ibt .also spoke to Bograt to see if I can get a cap..might just trade it off, just don't know what I want

Jolly I got everything working on this lil sucker and its going to be hard to let this go dude...lol I got the muffler at the top of the coil...32 awg 4 to 5 wraps at 1omh on 9 watts, the taste and TH is crazy on this thing....I want to thank you for the tips.

Very nice! Glad you got it all sorted. I need to make a new setup on mine tonight to see what I can come up with. Mine is still working very well with the setup I got, it is just starting to crud up the cop/wick a little more then I like.

This has become one of my daily use mods, its a must have in any collection. It took a lil time to learn it but WoW I'm glad i didnt get rid of it...

Jolly, I'm vaping Deadly sin in diffrent attys and the best of the best taste comes from the Orion V3..not even the Kayfuns 3.1 ES taste can keep up with the Orions....
