Since this pertains to the OSDIY flavors I recently received, hope it is OK to post/ask this here:

With my recent acquisition mentioned above, I set up to do some mixing today. Mixed 3, multi-flavor recipes. First time doing compound recipes using a total of 9 flavors. I quickly came to the realization that the 30ml bottles the flavorings came in are simply capped, no drop means. Luckily I had a couple twist caps and glass droppers I could use, but not enough to get through the session without needing to stop and do some cleaning. So that all started the gears turning in my atrophied brain....what is the best way to avoid this "problem?"

Let me first say, due to essential tremors, syringes and pipettes are NOT my friends. So those are completely out of my equation. I checked OSDIY and saw no options when purchasing, except a twist top if buying the 120ml size, and that ain't happening anytime soon. So the options I have come up with are:

1. I've got several empty store bought glass bottles with glass droppers. I can wash out the droppers and use those. I would just use, wash, then store. Unless there is a problem of not keeping the same dropper with a certain flavor, probably my best/cheapest option.

2. Wash the used bottles and droppers, then transfer my flavors into those bottles. I'm not sure if flavors are better stored long term in glass, but if so, that kills two birds with one stone (actually more considering what I included in #4 below). Downside is, I lose the labeling on the original bottles.

3. buy some glass droppers. I can't see as I gain anything more then the elimination of the first cleaning of my used droppers. Not to mention, the cost of the droppers is not that much less then buying new bottles with glass droppers. Which leads to:

4. Just bite the bullet and buy some tinted glass bottles with droppers and refill as needed. That would eliminate having to clean droppers after each session, easily keep the same dropper with its specified flavor, and where/how to store individual droppers. But one again, I lose the precise labeling.

I chose mixing by weight, not only because of the difficulty using syringes and pipettes, but minimizing or eliminating altogether the clean-up. A little added expense now for an everlasting benefit is acceptable to me.

So whadayathink? What is my best option or have I missed the boat entirely and you have a better way/solution (going back to only store bought not considered )?

I second what @Kenna said

Just mixed up the following today:
Chocolate cream 10%
Mint chocolate 10%
Pink lemonade 10%
Strawberry milk 15%
I'm going to drip them now to see how they are as a shake and vape!

Update: only the pink lemonade was good as a shake and vape. Hopefully the others will get better with time as I wasn't too impressed. But those ones must just need time

I don't have a "better" solution but I do have one thought for you to ponder. I was turned off of eye droppers early on; especially for flavor concentrates. The rubber that is used for the squeeze bulb (and therefore also the cap seal; as they are usually all one piece) is one of the most porous materials we encounter as DIYers. This may substantially shorten the actual shelf life of certain concentrates. Concentrates that have more volatile compounds (those providing the aroma components of the concentrate) are going to be more greatly affected than those with fewer compounds as these can quickly dissipate through a porous membrane. Of course it all depends on ease-of-delivery vs. longevity and which is more important to you. I will also freely declare that I have no hard data as to how much this will affect a concentrate compared to say an HDPE or LDPE type plastic bottle so this is all anecdotal at best. You may find a completely different experience. If you do opt for the eye dropper route; you will have to report back if/when you detect a noticeable flavor fade.

The strawberry milk got creamier with time for me but the strawberry never really popped.
Never got past a shake & vape sample on the Chocolate Mint. It was good enuf but tasted milk chocolate instead of dark didn't think steep would change that so moved on to others and haven't gotten back to it yet.

Are the flavor bottles you talk about 30ml with a wide opening? if so, these caps will fit onto them. the 1 oz size. This link is for illustration only. These are the ones with the luer tops and come in different sizes. For bulk purchases I buy elsewhere unless I just need a couple, then I pick these up.

Try using the droppers you have on the bottles you just got. They won't reach to the bottom. Or #2 above.

The bottles of flavorings I just got have no droppers, just a plain screw on cap. Which is part of the reason I posted it here. OSIDY is the second vendor I've gotten flavorings from and neither bottles in anything but a plain cap with no other option. Probably not an issue to most, but a problem for me.

Thanks, Joel! Sounds like a vote for option #1, use droppers for ease of dispensing and clean, but not for storage.

Do they include the small cap that that covers the Luer Lock hole, when a needle is not attached?

Thanks, Sugar! Matter of fact, I included two 60ml you linked and those were the two twist caps I used on the 30ml bottles of flavorings for this session. I just haven't mixed enough yet to have any idea if the twist caps from another vendor will fit the OSDIY bottles. I might e-mail OSDIY and ask if they would sell me just some of those caps.

EDIT: Checked my invoice and the ones that fit the 30ml flavor bottles were the 60ml size of these: Natural LDPE Boston Round Bottle with Twist Top Cap
I see they sell some twist top caps for 1 and 2 oz bottles, but I don't know enough to tell if they will fit the flavor bottles. I gotta get that e-mail going!

BTW, my session included my first batch of you PB Fluffy. Now I gotta wait 3 weeks to give it a try.

The luer caps they sell fits on 1oz, 2oz and 4oz bottles and fits on bottles that have a neck size of 20-410. You can find them also on amazon from Jensen Global.
It is quite the education when trying to match caps that will fit on bottles. Back when I first started vaping, I found the bottles I still use from a place called Howards Electronics. LOL Got the blunt needles there also.

I was editing my post while you were quoting it.

I get confused when bottles are described as 30ml, then caps as 1oz or 2 oz. Just don't want to pay $6 for shipping $2 worth of product and find out it don't fit. Would these fit the same as those on Amazon?

Yes these will fit. I am with you about the way vendors refer to the products they sell. The only thing I can figure is that the 30ml refers to the ejuice itself and the oz reference to the bottle. Wish they would clarify also but who knows. LOL
Get a few of those caps so shipping doesn't eat you alive.
    And use discount code jfk.

In my experience with chocolate.....no matter where it is from...is that it requires at least a 3 week steep. sorry.

    ...

    Just an FYI...

When I first got into DIY I got this Great Idea to put Eye Dropper Tops on all my Glass Flavoring Bottles. That way I wouldn't have to wash out Eye Droppers or Syringes. Each Flavoring Bottle would have it Own Dropper!

    Great Idea... Right?

No. No it wasn't. Because one day I noticed that an Eye Dropper Bulb on one of my Flavors was kinda Mushy. And when I went to see what was going on, it pretty much Fell Apart in my Fingers.

Long Story Short, some Flavorings can Break Down some "Rubber" eye dropper Bulbs. And throwing out a Whole Drawer full of Flavorings is a Drag. And kinda Costly also.

OSDIY does offer shipping by USPS 1st Class Mail (much less $) for orders that weigh up to about 13ozs including the packaging they'll be sent in. It should show as a choice when you click at the bottom of the shopping cart...to show shipping options for what's in your cart. :)

Thanks! Will have to check that out. Not in a big hurry since I don't mix often and could hold on until I want/need more flavors.

    I wish I didn't want more flavors!

Well, you haven't been DIYing for very long yet. Just wait...because even when you've gotten about 70-80, you'll still be saying that. Your wish won't come true then either. I've come to the conclusion that "flavoritis" is just plain incurable. :D

Of course, it would help if people would quit posting such really tempting, mouth-watering recipes on here. Never fails that I usually need just "that one more" flavoring I don't have, to make them, too. :)
