Well, you haven't been DIYing for very long yet. Just wait...because even when you've gotten about 70-80, you'll still be saying that. Your wish won't come true then either. I've come to the conclusion that "flavoritis" is just plain incurable. :D

Of course, it would help if people would quit posting such really tempting, mouth-watering recipes on here. Never fails that I usually need just "that one more" flavoring I don't have, to make them, too. :)
Haha,i couldn't agree more.I haven't counted, but i would say i have close to 200 different flavors, and i still add 10-12 new ones a month, because like you mention, there is always that recipe that calls for 1 flavor you don't have.Although,i have it pretty bad, because i will think i don't have a certain flavor,so i'll order it,then i find a brand new bottle of that flavor that was forgotten about haha.

Sounds like it's time to start using a calculator that tracks your inventory! ;) I use @HotRod19579's juice Calculator and every new purchase that crosses my door gets entered/updated as I unpack it. When I see a new tempting recipe, I can refer to the calculator to see what I do/don't have on hand, and add it to the integrated shopping list if needed. :D

When I first started DIY, I knew I wouldn't remember off the top of my head what I had, as I went along buying more & more flavorings and other supplies. So I made a folder on my laptop, with spreadsheets for nic base, flavorings, bottles, blunt needle tips, etc. bought for DIY. I enter everything into the right spreadsheet when it's delivered. It's saved me from buying multiples of things more than once so far.

In the beginning,i had a notebook i would write each flavor down in,and had all the different categories listed so i could do an easy search to see what i had.I forgot about it until about 100 flavors later haha, now it's just too much work to get it back on track.Same with organization,i started out with a plastic shoe box,and had them all where i could look at the label and see what was what. That all went the window pretty quick. Now,i still have that shoe box it is pretty well full with small bottles just tossed in there, plus a good sized tool box that is overflowing,so organization isn't much of an option anymore, which is bad because it sucks digging for 15 minutes trying to find a certain flavor haha.

I'm usually good about remembering which ones i have,it's usually those spur of the moment add ons that i see while making a cart, that i usually forget i have.Although, last week,i ran out of Ry4 double, which i use in my adv,so i had to make a smaller batch, and went to starting a cart.I went to my cabinet to get something, and found a whole brand new 120ml bottle of ry4d that i still don't remember ordering haha.

I'm prolly sitting on close to 200 flavors not counting the 4 oz sizes. I have them on a spreadsheet. Color coded.

None of my bottles other than the samples have expiration dates on them. Does anyone know how long flavors usually last for?

I have flavors over 4 years old that are fine. My OSD flavors are under a year so time will tell on those.

Never got past a shake & vape sample on the Chocolate Mint. It was good enuf but tasted milk chocolate instead of dark didn't think steep would change that so moved on to others and haven't gotten back to it yet.

To give it that semi sweet dark chocolate taste try this:

America's favorite peppermint patty

10% OSD chocolate mint
One Stop Flavors - Chocolate Mint - 30mL
2% inawera chocolate
Chocolate-INW
1% or less TFA peppermint (Strong, strong stuff)
Peppermint-TFA

Don't substitute any of these ingredients (I've supplied a link to them). Can be vaped right away but best after a 2-3 week steep.

I know it says not to substitute but I have inw milk chocolate as I don't like dark chocolate. I'll try it that way and report back!

TIP: INW Milk Chocolate is a wonderful flavor, especially for blending, but it's comparatively weak next to other INW flavors. You might want to push it up to 4-5% in this recipe or you won't notice it at all. And I'm sure @dannyv45 will tell you it's not going to taste like his recipe, because it won't. But I'll bet it'll be tasty anyway.

That's exactly what I got. They must not be very good sellers or they wouldn't have given it to us for free. Or maybe it is wonderful and that's why they gave us a sample...?

OSDIY sent me Sassafras and Mint Chocolate Chip samples. Expiration was "Best By March 2017".

That's actually what the canned food industry says, too. The "Best By" date is only a suggested date to have the contents be "the best they'll be", (ie. freshest tasting, at their peak of flavor), etc.. It doesn't mean that after that date..."they're bad", as in they're spoiled and will make you sick if you eat them. Not at all! They said specifically that the only canned food to absolutely discard at any time (before or after any date of any kind on the can)...are cans that have tops or bottoms that have a bulge to them, or cans that have visible rust on them.

There was a whole show on TV once, and the info. is online, too, about the "Best By", "Use By", "Sell By" designations...and what each really means...healthwise to consumers. :)

I buy Yogurt and it always has a sell by date on it at the grocery store. Being curious about what that actually meant, I Googled it. What I found was that the sell buy date is always at least 30 days before it starts to change so that the consumer has time to use the product within safe limits. It's designed to that stores can put it on sale before the date and move it out safely for the consumer.

I have Lorann's flavors that are a couple of years old. They smell fine, but I haven't used them lately.

Just an FYI...

When I first got into DIY I got this Great Idea to put Eye Dropper Tops on all my Glass Flavoring Bottles. That way I wouldn't have to wash out Eye Droppers or Syringes. Each Flavoring Bottle would have it Own Dropper!

Great Idea... Right?

No. No it wasn't. Because one day I noticed that an Eye Dropper Bulb on one of my Flavors was kinda Mushy. And when I went to see what was going on, it pretty much Fell Apart in my Fingers.

Long Story Short, some Flavorings can Break Down some "Rubber" eye dropper Bulbs. And throwing out a Whole Drawer full of Flavorings is a Drag. And kinda Costly also.

I bought the Boston Rounds about 6 months ago to mix and steep my juices in. 60ml for flavored juices and 120ml for my unflavored juice batches. So far the droppers are fine for dispensing. I'll use one for nic and get that out of the way first, then wash it out with all the others and put them all back on the bottles after mixing. The rest of my liquids, the PG, VG, and Flavors are in squeeze bottles.

I never became comfortable with pipettes for Nicotine. The length of a pipette and my slightly shaky hands makes it hard to ring the bottle neck! Droppers are my friend.

Yeah I'm not a big Fan of Pipettes either.

I have some High Precision pipettes. As well as a Selectable Pipette Pump laying around somewhere. Besides looking Cool, about the only thing I got out of them was why using something like this...

OSDIY sent me Sassafras and Mint Chocolate Chip. Expiration was "Best By March 2017".

It would seem a "born on" date would be far more informative then a "best by" date. According to their website:

"If stored properly, most flavors should last several years. Citrus oils degrade more quickly, but can be refrigerated to extend shelf life. If your essential oils or flavors look cloudy, have an off smell or lose their intense aroma, it’s time to buy new."

Without knowing the length of time up to the "best by" date leaves it pretty open ended as to when to start having any concerns. Guess I better rely on the "look and sniff" method before mixing. Or just mix and taste and if it sucks, time to order.

I probably need a big pan to put on the kitchen counter top. I usually just lay out a spread of paper towels. There's usually a drop or two evident on the towels after a session. It's in the drip path of my 100mg/ml nic.

The upside is that anything left after I clean the counter top counts as pest control. PG and VG sweetness, and NIC attracts and kills bugs!

I remember reading a lawn care book written by a golf course pro grounds keeper who listed his personal recipe for an all in one liquid fertilizer and bug killer spray. He made it in 55 gallon drums. He'd buy a pound of cheap tobacco, boil it and pour the water into the drum. Put the tobacco into a nylon stocking and drop it into the drum for further steeping, along with a list of other ingredients that provide nitrogen and other fertilizers. He swore by its bug killing ability as well as the fertilizer properties of his other ingredients. He used it mainly on the greens.

How is a high precision pipette different from a regular one?

...

I've had Two Major spills while doing DIY. Both involved a 250ml Bottle of 100mg/ml Nicotine Base deciding to go Horizontal.

The First one I did a Mad Grab for the Bottle as it went Glug, Glug, Glug onto my Desk. Then the Richard Pryor your Hair is on Fire dash for a Towel or a T-Shirt or anything to contain the ever spreading pool trying to reach the Edge of my Desk.

It was One Big Sticky Mess.

The Second one I calmly said "Oh Bother", cleared the Implements that were on my SS Oven Pan, then Carefully poured the spilled Nicotine Base back into the Bottle from the corner of the Oven Pan.

After a Quick Rinse of the Oven Pan I was back in Business.

Your comment is making me re-think where I do my DIY! Currently if I have a spill, it will go all over the carpet
