As 99.9% of you know, NRT, or Nicotine Replacement Therapy doesn't work in a majority of cases. When I smoked I often used the cliche " Quitting smoking is easy, I've done it 1000 times." About 900 of those attempts were with the aid of nicotine patches or gum, or both. Studies have shown that with traditional NRT, between 6 to 15% of people that attempt to quit actually succeed and maintain their new non-smoker status for 1 year. I believe the number is 6%, because everyone I know, including myself, failed using gum and patches every time it was tried. Patches and gum are an abysmal failure, except for the companies that produce and sell them. Just think if aspirin or your prescription medications were successful 6% of the time. The products would never come to market, let alone be used by millions of well intentioned people every year.
Enter vaping. I tried the convenience store ecigs a few times, blech! No help there. Then I stumbled on this sub-reddit on Jan 13. I bought an MVP that same afternoon at my local vape shop and haven't smoked since. Smoking replacement therapy! BAM! DONE!! No more smoking after 35 years, sometimes 2+ packs a day.
NRT is a money making scheme, SRT WORKS! I had 2 1/2 packs of Winston Light 100's on Jan 13, kept them around as a mental crutch till Feb 1 then thoroughly enjoyed trashing them. And it's not just me. I've helped 3 friends quit as well. The best way to help your friends quit is to take them to the local vape shop. Don't make a fuss or even let them know where you're going. Let them try a few juices they might like and they will quit too! SRT IS AWESOME!
So after all this, my question is this: Did NRT work for you? Did SRT work for you?
