My town has a huge St. Patrick's Day parade, which was today - so, after a week of vaping (and no cig's!! :) ) today was the first big public outing for me - including being with friends and family who had no idea that I had quit or was using the e-cig (or pv).

Everyone's reaction was wonderful - they were thrilled that I wasn't smoking (even my husband and son, who saw me using it but didn't realize I wasn't smoking at all, were so happy - but mostly relieved, I think). But, you get so many questions!! I want to be an advocate for it, and of course it was easiest to direct people here, but it was definitely overwhelming. I'm sure it will get easier in time to answer without feeling like I'm all over the place and confusing them more. But, it was a pretty cool experience - I wasn't the social outcast anymore, but someone that could point others in a safer direction. Very nice! I had a clean, spare drip tip on me so my Dad's girlfriend even tried it - she's definitely interested and he was extremely supportive. :2cool: All in all, a good experience and it makes me feel much less awkward about vaping in public!!

when the conversation starts i try to send everyone to this site. . since dog walking is one of my replacement therapies, i love vaping in public. walking down the main road in town is a hoot. i hit my "OMEGA" like it's an oxygen mask. can't wait for the local constabulary to stop me. we have problems with the "bicycle people" I'll call them . can't talk about that stuff but we all know what i mean. hoping i'm getting dirty looks from civilians in their cars.

i always ask every time i'm in a new bar and i'm unsure if they allow ecigs. actually haven't had any tell me that they aren't allowed. you might want to put a few vendor cards (the ones that get sent with your vape mail) in your purse/wallet so you can hand it to people cause people's eyes usually glaze over once i start trying to explain why i use something other than a e-cig that isn't a blue or njoy. plus it's always good karma to send people to whatever place you're getting your gear at.
