One more comment then I'll shut up ( OK probably not...but maybe for tonite anyway) I was at an appointment with my son's psychologist a couple weeks ago and was just holding my ecig in my hand. Things got kinda emotional and I took a completely unconscious drag...before I released the vapor from my mouth I looked at her like "OMG did I just do that" And she said it's ok it's not harmful to me. now I do it right there in her office and she has no problem with it (if u want to know why my son has to see a psychologist I could tell u but this isn't the place :) )

Ok fellow vapers ... this is the problem as I see it.
From what I keep reading, many of you don't vape in public, seem embarressed to do so. You weren't embarressed smoking analogs out in public so why be embarressed to vape in public? I vape everywhere and I'll answer people's questions about PV's until I'm hoarse if I have to just to get the word out about them.

We can't make a difference or even hope to change public opinion and possible stop the FDA from banning PV's if we don't educate the public about them. It's up to us to educate smokers and non-smokers about PV's, because if we don't, no one else will. If you don't want to lose the right to vape, then do something about it. Vape out in the open and educate the public about PV's. Don't let BIG BROTHER have another victory at our expense.

Well, its like this..in every circle, there are the trend setters and the trend followers. For all the geeks out there that never got much attention, and i was one of em, you can now be a trend setter. Do I care if I get awkward looks, no. I got the cool new stuff, and you don't ! But I've reached the point, and quickly, that I don't care what others think. I do what I do. If you like it, great, if you don't, I never knew you in the first place, and looks like it will stay that way. You can vape to that kids:)

If it makes anyone feel better, I have yet to have anyone scurge me for vaping in stores, or any remarks short of "how does it work", or "did it work?" in relation to quiting cigs. Once you drop the bug, its a matter of time before they swoop in on a kit. The trend has started, and virtually all others will follow, short of mr. oxygen tank for life. But the time was right for us, and we must be patient for the slow pokes to make their switch. Until then, I set the example, with no pressure. I chose my e cig, took it easy, and the transition was in turn, easy. Never make anyone feel like they have to drop cigs to vape, or even try. It scares them, as it did us. We all do it our way, but eventually DO find OUR WAY. Just set the example and dont stress it :)

In no way was smoking in public cool. But at least i was mixed in with other smokers when i was smoking cigarettes. Therefore i kinda blended in with them. Now when i vape in public i feel like everyone is looking at me. I can't help but wonder what they are thinking. They probably think i am smoking some illegal substance or something. I don't even feel comfortable around other smokers while vaping. I feel as if i am drawing attention to myself. I am a pretty shy guy and do not like any extra attention.

Does anyone else struggle with vaping in public? Hopefully this will all pass and eventually i just won't give a damn what people think.

Hah I enjoy the looks I get from people. especially while driving.

I work in Dr's offices, and I openly vape when I'm not actively with a patient. So far, nobody has said anything negative and several people have said how cool vaping is. I've even had 2 people say they were going to get PVs for friends/relatives. As has been said before, I consider being seen vaping can be an educational opportunity.

For me, vaping has renewed my feeling of "cool". When I was a young teenager I started smoking because all my friends were doing it and I thought it made me look cool. As I got older I realized how much smoking sucks and how stupid I looked. Now, I vape all the time, and I have that sense of being cool again. I don't mind the questions, it gives me an opportunity to help educate others on this great device!

it depends on my mood. sometimes im dont care if people want to ask me. so i dont worries about doing it in public, and some days i just want to be left alone so i stealth vape. depends on how social you feel like being, since its so new you really need to be able to educate people. most people i find think its cool and want to get one of their own.

I've become a walking billboard for vaping at this point. I guess the only downside is that sometimes I just want to go out on break and enjoy some quiet time. It's also kind of sad how many people I meet that tried e-cigs and hated them because it was a mall/store bought brand. I haven't resorted to stealth vaping yet, I feel like I'm helping smokers out by opening their eyes to this.

I have yet to take my PV anywhere but I'm feeling that omg everyone is going to be staring at me look and so I'm a little hesitant. I think I'm afraid I'll take it in the movie theater or something and they kick me out for no reason. And of course I'd start a scene cause there isn't anything wrong with them. it's hard to explain something to someone when they have a one track mind and are mad LOL
