Interesting as I have been feeling quite phlegmy lately as well. Never really noticed that with the 70/30 PG/VG mix. Very interesting indeed, I may just have to go back to some of my old juices and see if it keeps happening.

I don't know if a doctor's visit is in order considering the only time I feel this way is when I vape.

Very grateful for the responses so far, it's opening up ideas and suggestions I might not have thought of.

I've had that same problem with certain flavor suppliers vendors use. Mostly caramel and butterscotch. I can use them from some vendors and not others. It's weird.

I find this very interesting. I recently got some juice from a new vendor, and used on my Mini Vivi, which I was new to, also. Two of the flavors I got, and the first two I tried were Carmel Popcorn and Butterscotch. They are very harsh on my throat and have caused me to think that top coil devices are not for me, or that an 80PG/20VG ratio is not for me. Even in my CE3s these flavors are harsh on my throat. The other threes flavors I got from the vendor seem to be okay. I have tried Carmel from another vendor in a CE3, same PG/VG ratio, higher nicotine, without issue. Maybe I'm sensitive to the ingredients this particular vendor is using for those flavors.

What vaping style are you using?

If you are lung vaping - sucking all the way deep like you used to smoke cigarettes - you simply may not be able to tolerate the amount of vape you are getting into your lungs. I vape 100 VG but have never used a full lung inhale technique and have never had a chest pain problem. Since nicotine from vaping isn't absorbed through your lungs a full inhale is not really necessary.

Interestingly, it may not even be related to vaping.

I heartily endorse seeing your doctor. I'll tell you why.

It could be food related and / or the former smoking you did. You need to get an endoscopy.

People often have reflux and GERD symptoms that do not manifest as heartburn. Some people think they have post nasal drip, other people have heartburn, others think it's in their chest but it's actually in their esophagus.

I do NOT agree with the person who said the doctor will tell you to stop vaping. There isn't too much I don't know about GERD/reflux, and my doctor wanted me to stop smoking. He said no matter what, vaping would not be as bad. I also had to go on a very special diet and not eat foods that irritated the tract from my mouth all the way down to stomach. You'd be suprised what foods can do --- and now ejuice, some people do get stomach upsets from it. What I'm saying is that GERD manifests as stomache and chest pains and weird throat things as well. (several times, I had symptoms like I was having a mild heart attack in my chest, so of course I thought it was my chest or heart, and it wasn't. :))

I'm quite sure your doc will want you to have an upper GI and then probably an endoscopy. Neither test is painful in any way, they will put you in a "twilight" sleep for the latter.

Everyone should be scoped if they have ever smoked anyway.

if it turns out you have upper GI problems, they would be exascerbated by just about.......anything. Food or vaping. That's what Nexium, the little purple pill is for. :) Millions of people are on these proton pump inhibitors, which is what they are, and they not only relieve symptoms but also "heal" the tract over time.

As for the list of things in either your juice or your equipment, it could be a number of things. The PG, the VG, the Flavorings in the juice. It could also be the wicks in tanks and clearos. I pretty much can't vape with anything w/a wick, I may have a sensitivity to silica.
This is a problem since I hate cartos, I can sort of taste the filler, but I can do tht better than wicks. I solved the whole problem by just getting bottom feeder with an atty, so no wicks OR filler anymore. :)

PS, you do NOT want to be vaping anything w/malic acid, like fruits, cherries, and for sure, nothing with any cinnamon, etc. right now. Stick to basic juice, lower nic if possible, nothing too exciting if you know what i mean.
