I am seeking the knowledge of the all knowing veterans. Please help with my dilema. I switched from smoking analogs one month ago. I went and bought a V2 (Kr808d-1) e-cig from v2cigs.com, don't laugh, we all had to start somewhere. I loved it at first because I didn't know any better. The flavor and vapor was fine for me. I went and bought some juices on-line and started refilling my used cartos. The juices were not tasting that great or as described so I looked into this. I read that the KR808D isn't the best for great flavor. Let's not forget that the battery life sucks. So here goes.

I think I have outgrown my KR808d and am looking for something a lot better. I don't mind spending the money for quality as long as I get what I pay for. This being said, I do not have a ton of cash to waste on different mods until I find one that I like. I like the look of the tube mods but don't know which one to get. I don't know much about vaping so it would have to be easy to use and versatile. I like the KR808d cartos because I can fill it up with juice and go. I don't want something that I have to keep dripping a few drops at a time into it. So, can you please suggest something for me to get? Something that has a long battery life and is easy to use. Easy maintenance and easy to work with. I have no idea about different volts and so on so keep it simple.
Is there a tube mod out there that I can fill up with juice and vape on it for a long time?

Thanks again.

I strongly recommend a 510-based fat batt. Fat batts have much more mAh than skinny batts like your Kr8 battery. [mAh = milliamp hours that determine how frequently the battery needs to be recharged.] And there are myriad atomizers, cartomizers. tanks, and accessories available for 510 connections.

The best known is the Joye eGo. However, I usually recommend the Riva: it is less expensive (while still being high quality) and has more mAh (750 vs. 650) and higher voltage (3.7 vs. 3.2V). Liberty-Flights has a wonderful deal on Riva-510 kits: $30 for the "Lite Bundle", although there is nothing "lite" about it; it is a full two-battery/two-atomizer kit.* [Click on the "20% Discount" icon in the upper left corner of the screen first, in order to see that price.]

To avoid dripping, you could use tanks, but I much prefer cartomizers, i.e., what you are already used to (but better performing models). Unlike Kr8, most 510 cartos do not come prefilled, but you seem to be comfortable filling cartos ... and any of the ones I would recommend are very easy to fill (and to refill or top off). One of the very best is the Smok Tech Mega Dual Coil cartomizer*, available from many suppliers, including Liberty-Flights ($12/five-pack), LiteCigUSA ($9/five-pack), and Crystal Clear Vaping ($32 for a 15-carto/two-drip-tip bundle). The Boge 2.0 ohm cartos also are quite popular and are available from the same suppliers (and many others). For an even more intense vaping experience (i.e., TH and vapor), you might want to consider my new favorite: the Smok Tech 1.7 ohm Mega Single Coil "Resurrector" cartos, e.g., $7.85/five-pack or $21.50 for a 15-carto/two-drip-tip bundle from Crystal Clear Vaping.

If you want to refill your cartomizers no more often than you recharge your batteries, consider the ones designed for the fat batts. My two favorites are the 4+ ml-capacity eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer (e.g., $2.50 ea from MadVapes) and 3 ml-capacity Echo-e cartomizer (e.g., $4.50 ea from Cool Vapes or $20/five from Cropduster901). [These cartomizers fit the Riva as well as the eGo, although some of us have found that we need to adjust the center post to make a good contact with some of our batteries, regardless of model.]

E-liquid is a subject unto itself ... and there are so many really good suppliers of really good juices out there. I suggest that you post separately on that, either in this forum or in the General E-Liquid Discussion or Requests for Opinions/Reviews forums. Be sure to indicate your flavor preferences. E.g., are you a tobacco, menthol, or sweet-tooth vaper? Intense or mild flavors?

Enjoy the adventure!

You may want to consider a variable voltage mod like the Buzz Pro from Notcigs The Buzz . You are able to get it in an 808 connection and once you have variable voltage there is really no need to buy another PV ever IMO. I have had mine for almost a year and have not had the need to purchase any other PV. I moved up to a Riva type battery after my KR808 but soon found the need for more. Good luck to you!

I agree with Don's Riva Lite Bundle at Liberty Flights. The Ego battery gives you a multitude of options for atomizers, cartomizers, and all for the startup cost of $29.99 for the basic kit.
