Ok, so I have been all over the forum and got so much education (not just on e-cigs, matter of fact I’m taking the bar on Monday…haha j/k) and information that I feel as though I have been vaping for a long time (only 2 weeks). I have seen all of the different PVs and the absolutely incredible mods out there. I would love to own a Higher end PV, but I asked myself this question this morning… What was the real point of me switching to vaping instead of smoking? My answer was to live a longer, happier and healthier life (style). Which brought to my next question? If I treat myself to one of those wonderful toys (prodigy, gg, SD etc…) will I be over doing it? I would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this. I have no doubt that once I would try these HEPVs (higher end personal vaporizers), I would most likely not want to vape from much anything else! Shed some light on this for me all you awesome people out there!

Thanks,
Chief

At 2 packs a day, I was looking at close to 3300 dollars a year on smoking. I've spent roughly 1300, blown lots of money on high end mods, and a lot of juice, and I'm set for roughly three years right now. You tell me if it's worth it.

Well, the way you put it, its a no brainer. However, My post was about being Overindulgent with devices on the higher end scale...

i guess this all depends on your intent.
did you start vaping to quit smoking? did you start vaping because you enjoyed the act of smoking but hated the repercussions? money probs?
for me, i enjoy smoking...but its gonna kill me...so now i can reduce my nic levels until im "unhooked" then just vape for the flavor and fun.

Indeed, I vape becuase I truly loved the art of smoking, however, I did not pack tobacco in an ultra deluxe fire-in-the-hole-mega-supercharged smoking device. I can honestly say even if they had something like that for tobacco (yes, yes I know they do and what there called) I would not use them...

It's a perspective thing. By all means, have yours. Just don't limit yourself needlessly. Instead of the daily buying the same brand, because you identify with that brand, and the same lighter, because you identify with that brand of lighter, because almost all cigarettes taste essentially the same with minor differences, you have an entire world of flavors to choose from, and the freedom to easily swap between them. You have multiple draws, juice capacities, nicotine strengths, throat hits, vapor amounts, etc. You don't have to limit yourself because of how much cheaper this is than traditional smoking. And honestly? That freedom to pick what flavor I feel like having this day, and whether I want to rock a 510 on a mod, or a Prodigy, or a dual atomizer 801 mod, etc, is whats makes this habit an order of magnitude more enjoyable than the nicotine addiction maintenance that cigarette smoking had become. There's no need to try to make it as much like cigarette smoking was as possible. That's just the marketing that gets you started on e-cigs. : )

The premiere PV's just do what you want them to do BETTER. So if you are going to vape any way, you might as well enjoy it more. It took the better PV's that feel most like the real thing, to keep us off analoges. No hassle, no inconsistency, no frustration. That is what you will be leaving behind.

I'm not by any stretch of the imagination suggesting that the way I'm doing things is the cheapest, but with certain mods you can save money over time just because of how much cheaper the batteries are. My AdapteveR 510 was 100 bucks, 6 bucks shipped, another 15 with shipping on some batteries and a charger. So about 120 bucks. That would have bought about 11 510 batteries shipped. But the batteries in the AdapteveR last about four times longer than the regular 510 batteries, and cost less than 1/3 as much. Eventually it will pay off, and as a side benefit, I don't have to replace my 510 battery every two hours. I'm going on seven hours right now.

You guys are awesome! I do plan on getting a MOD of some sort. I friggin love vapping. I used to smoke at the very least a pack and a half a day for quite some time. I just dont want to escalate my addiction to Vaping so to speak. I dont know, just wanted to hear your guys thoughts!

There are a lot of reasons to get mods, if you can afford them.
--much longer battery life
--much cheaper batteries
--better throat hit
--better vapor

And there are reasons, and these are mine, to never get a mod...
--don't care about battery life
--don't want something that looks like a mod
--already have more throat hit than I want
--don't need a huge cloud of vapor

If I missed anything on either side, please don't hesitate to add on.

It's simple to me. This is cheaper, so I might as well suck the most fun out of not dying from lung cancer. I'll get lots of good tasting stuff, and lots of shiny cool looking stuff. Hell, I'll get a PV that matches every suit I own as long as I'm still saving money. I'm worth it.

That my friend is the logic that Im using in deciding if I wanna take the plunge into the world of th higher end PVs. I could not agree with you more. Im just wondering if I should delve(sp) into the PV abyss where a reg 510 wont "do it" for me anymore. Im so friggin on the fence...

Honestly, if the 510 is already doing you great, I'd suggest getting something that's NOT high volt yet. Just get something that has insane battery live and looks cool. I love the AdaptevR, but there's the SD, The Protege is coming soon, The Super-T, the Silver Bullet, and probably some I've missed. High Volts do spoil you to some degree. Ideally, get a mod that can be expanded to high volts later like the GG or the Super-T. The Prodigy has a huge battery option at 3.7 volts where you can go for literally days before needing to replace the battery. So does the GGT. I was really enjoying the standard e-cigs, but mods have made this habit a lot more livable and enjoyable for me.

Thats more of an answer I was looking for brother thank you. I have spent a nice chuck of cheese in the past week, building my stash up. I REALLY wanna get a device that for 1 uses 501 attys and 2 I wont have to ever worry about waiting for or even finding batterys to run my PV... Again, dont wanna loose sight of the reason I stopped smoking, with a "Vape Screen" by again overindulging...

I am kinda in the same boat, i loved smoking (and hated it) and i love vaping so much better. The fact that cigarettes, cigars, and pipe smoking packed so much with such simple devices, it really makes you think when you try to convert it to vaping. There is also the point that a lot of us are always going to feel like somethings missing while we are vaping, but hopefully that will wear off. I am just trying to find a mod to justify getting over all the other mods. I took the jump to getting a personal vaporizer, and now i think i am ready to take the jump to a better personal vaporizer ;-)

I think the Prodigy has a 510 adapter, or will have one available soon.
I'm not sure about any of the other mods out there.

Also, tinear is working on an incredible Mahmba device that could possibly revolutionize the entire world. It will simultaneously bring world peace in mere seconds, and end global warming instantaneously.

And I am pretty sure he uses a 510 atomizer for that.

Dude, is he going to sell it? I have to have one if he does.

HAHA, I sat and stared at that thing for a while, and honestly, it was one of the things that got me thinking about this thread. Heres another question to pose. Would I have done this (started Vaping) if that device was the norm? My answer... yes...yes I would...

If you're talking about the Mahmba, it is the only mod I would absolutely and without question buy in a heartbeat. And I would probably pay as much as $300 for it without blinking an eye.
