You can buy a regular multimeter to test your coils. Check internal resistance of multimeter by touching probes to each other then hold one lead to each end of your assembled wire. Subtract the internal resistance number and you have your coil ohms. I find that my Ody gets changed about 1x per week, a bit more often if I use 100%VG.

1 a day ? Thats just paranoid people

Trust me I am not paranoid. I absolutely hate changing my Ody coil because I hate handling sticky things but 2 days is it for stock wick even with a dry burn every night for me. Although I go through about 10-12 ml a day with my Ody. Although it could be the juice I use that is gunking up coils.

I'm Not saying I won't try my best just that I hope it becomes second nature

It will ;-) It may take several times doing it before you can do it on auto-pilot, but once you get the hang of twisting the wires (honestly, this is the hardest part, but not that bad) you're golden.

Besides, if you really needed some hands-on help I could meet up with you somewhere to walk you through it

Dear god 10ml !!!! :) what nic level you use?

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

15 mg I actually vape about 9-10 ml Ody dumps about 2 ml through the center post unless I remember to tighten the mouthpiece whenever I leave it alone for a while.

Thanks Kill,

I guess I need a better close up video of wire length and twisting procedure.

Appreciate the offer!!

Is this typical Fright? after every draw?

Chris

I don't think I am a typical example at all. If so I think you would see more complaint on it. And honestly I am not complaining myself. Also after every draw is misleading and I will edit it now. Basically if I am going to leave the GGTS alone for a while (more then 10 minutes) I may get some leakage down the center post. I don't think this is exactly a design flaw or an ody problem it is just a matter of gravity. I did a test once that I did the following

I took a sheet of tissue paper and put it on a clean dry surface. Then I took 2 vials of e-juice and put them about 2 inch apart. I strung a length of wick 1 end in each bottle with the middle section kinda suspended over the tissue paper and left it over night. The wick wicked up juice but also dropped some on the tissue paper. Again just a matter of gravity.

I also suspect some of the issue may be due to lower pressure at higher altitude but I am no expert. To remedy the leak down the center post issue I put a small bit of paper towel in the collector tank. The tank will hold the juice but as I tend to lay my ggts on it's side to prevent tumbles without anything to soak it up it can come out the air holes sometimes. With the paper towell unless I forget to change it out that never happens.

Also I get no leaks at all when the mouthpiece is closed so I am realitavly sure it isn't an assembly issue.

Finally I hope my statement doesn't prevent you from getting an Ody or the likes. I love my Ody and would not get rid of it for any reasonable price (ok if someone offered me a million bucks I couldn't say no but I wouldn't even take tripple what I paid for it) I sold my backup UFS because with Ody full mode and Ody Drip mode I am completely happy. Also Ody Drip mode doesn't have this issue unless I over drip in it.

I am starting to think that something is going on with your Ody fright. Mine doesnt leak at all even if I put the big cap with the small cap attached on it so big air pressure inside Ody. Maybe you still grab the negative wire between base and big ring?

Imeo,

I am currently using the neg wire around the wick method. I tried just setting it in the chanel on top of the wick but it doesn't make contact sometimes. Most of my trials were with Nextel though I just got more Ody wick so I will probably mess with that over the next few days to test.

blackwater,to twist my wires I just hold them between my fingers in a 1/8" V and use tweezers...perfect tight twist e-v-e-r-y time.

Thanks Martin. As soon as my supplies arrive I will start practicing but with no Ody or P&P it seems like a waste of time.

and it leaks even if you put the wire around the ceramic housing? I hope you dont make a full circle of the wire around the ceramic housing, yes buddy?

I only tried that method once but had some issues with the rest of my build so I will be trying that method again tonight when I rebuild.

I've tried every trick I could find, and mine still leaks. Usually in big mode, every great now and then in short mode too.
But mostly big mode. I've given up and just use the short mode.

(and no one take that as a reason to NOT get an Ody! I still love mine!)

Fright, my leaking problem was solved when I only modded the top portion of the channel and started using Mr. Krinkles method with the super shorty piece of nextel. Leaving the side channels as is. Now mine doesn't leak in any mode, even over night there isn't a drop in the collection tank. I think you may be experiencing the same thing I was, the nextel is wicking too good, which equals leaking via capillary action.
