That looks sweet! Is it safe? Has anyone tried it? What size to get?

Chris

From the research I have done, you should order the 1/16" nextel. In other words xc 116 on the omega site. I made a purchase from them last night and will keep peopl updated on how it works. I have read all of the concerns and usage and precautions and "heat treating" involved with using this material. If anyone is curious as to this material, the info is located under the iatty thread.

I've been happily using cotton yarn for awhile, with good success.

Me too, I am using cotton yarn right now in my Odysseus ala MrKrinkle's method, 3 yarns of #8 100% cotton yarn, the trick is to not tight the coil around the yarn, I think it expands a little with the liquid.

I purchased bamboo yarn and 100% cotton yarn and never tried it. Anything special you do to prepare this kind of wick?

I have noticed that cotton yarn very easily absorbs any substance is on hands (body cream for example), so be sure to wash you hands (and make sure there is not soap odor in your hands) before work with the cotton yarn.

Maybe you could boil it before use, just in case.

Do no wrap tight the coil around yarn.

You can try also with 100% cotton gauze, cut it and roll to the proper size.

I use 2 strands of #3 cotton yarn with SS mesh wrapped around it at the coil. My coil is 32 ga nichrome at 1.4 ohms, with an 18650 battery.
It is working as well as any thing I've used, and I've tried a lot of wick materials.
I can't back it up with fact, but I feel its the cleanest, least likely to shed dangerous fibers wick that I have used. Its completely different than the flame resistant silica's or fiberglass and ceramic wicks, if you light it on fire it burns to a fine ash. But if its kept saturated, it wicks wonderfully and efficiently, and its incredibly cheap and readily available any where.

i will send 1m of wick and 1 premade wire so you need more stuff than this PR. Bruce will have more wires but better to ask him about this. As for the width of the resistance wire I suggest 0,15mm:).
Imeo, Are you going to supply wick and nichrome with Penelope?

I ask to go shopping ...

Nichrome What is better? ¿0.16?

Thank's!!!

How to get a UFS V2 cap to work with 510???

V2 cap allows you to use longer 510 attys and your choice of drip tip. You can use regular size 510's with a 510 atty extender. With this you would not use the V2 cap but instead use original Delrin tip. Hope this helps.
