I always laugh when folks complain about the Provari price.
As it stands today:
Provari 2.5 = $159
Reo Grand = $156
Zna = $279
Hanna = $279 (OK $199 now) :lol:
Chi You = $225
Nau Mod by Pedro = about 200 Euros
Should I go on?????

Lets not forget Semovar- $300 for a full kit...

My biggest problem with "Provari" is their price.

It is a "power distributor" for a battery with a threaded contact.

What does a Provari offer over something like a sub 100$ device? Besides the made in USA and a few gimmicky features like error indicator's? If it had touch screen control and they were selling some kind of revolutionary atomizer/clearomizer technology along with it then maybe I could justify spending 250+$.

Maybe i'm cheap or just don't see the "quality" in a Provari. To me it looks like a tube with a battery and circuit board in it, and a basic LED type screen that I can buy from Radio Shack for 50 cents. I can send my hobbyist circuit board schematics to a circuit board manufacturer and have it built for less then 10$ with all the standard quality assurance that Provari has (which is pretty much standard nowadays anyways).

Maybe i'm being Harsh. I can just see this industry price gouging because of the nature of addictive substances and the huge market. Riding the golden goose so to speak.

I don't own a Provari but I've been around long enough to know that it's a very solid device. I will probably try to save a few bucks by purchasing the new Innokin SVD2.0/DNA20....It will retail for $99.00 USD in September and I know the Dna20 board from Evolv is rock solid. But, Having said all that...I was more than Impressed by PBusardo's visit to the Pro-vape facility. Real Top notch place with extra-extra emphasis on Q.C. Check it out if you haven't already- Dave

One of my complaints about the Provari is that they are so much more expensive in Europe. Also, the warranty and repair service is not very useful as the shipping back and forth to the US will cost and arm and a leg. Perhaps Provape should arrange for authorized repairers in Europe.

My biggest complaint has always been, and will always be, the rabid, hostile fundamentalist fan boys. Heinz, try to at least get your facts straight. I may not have used a provari (I actually haven't even seen one in person) but I seem to know more about it than you, fact wise.

I hear reliable more than revolutionary. Its not provapes goal to fire the lowest ohm coil or run at the highest power. Its to be a sturdy, stable, reliable platform that's suitable for 90% of the vapers out there. Why try to bash it when it does what it does perfectly, Nathaniel? It doesn't go where I want to go anymore but I certainly wish my sx350 device and my DNA devices where HALF as reliable as my provari.

No don't get me wrong I am far from bashing it, and your absolutely right in saying it is suitable for 90% of vapers out there, as are ego pens. All I'm doing is responding to the naive saying this device is the pinnacle of technology when there are devices much more capable and just as reliable. It is good, and some may feel the price is worth paying, I think it's overpriced based on my own needs and i'm pretty sure many others feel the same, and over here in the UK it would be sold much more expensive anyway, i'd imagine at least £250, which is over $400.

What SX350 do you own which is unreliable? A DIY job or custom build i'm guessing, making it the device thats unreliable and not the chip, as my experience with this chip found it to be accurate, reliable, with fully functioning safety features - I'm not talking about device to device, i'm speaking about chip to chip. APV's will all last long depending on how they are looked after anyway, my gf's itaste vv3 has been going strong since january, and i've got an old vamo thats been alive for nearly a year and still does it's job, and the build quality on those is far from perfect. And lets not forget provaris aren't without there issues either anyway, just google provari issues lol. All i'm saying is the SX350 chip is more advanced and capable with all the necessary safety features included as well, whereas the P3 chip has the same capabilities as chips that have already been on the market for ages, with some added bells and whistles. It's built well no doubt, the looks are subjective though.

The 'minority' of users asking for more power is still estimated to be 5-10% of this $1.5bn industry - and growing - thats $75m-$150m market right there, and a higher percentage of the high power users are prepared to part with a load of cash for a good mod then the 90-95% the provari is supposed to cater to, the vaaaast majority of that 90-95% don't even know what variable voltage is, and would laugh at the idea of spending a fortune on any luxury PV device.

I don't understand why provari can't be criticized without a bunch of sensitive and agitated fanboys jumping to its defense like they own stocks in provape. I swear if I posted a thread right now saying i've got an issue with my old v2.5 provari there would be a huge list of frantic fanboys commenting how reliable and great there device is, the mountains of mods they've outlasted, etc etc etc. before i'd even get an answer on how to sort my issue.

All i'm saying is the provari is good, but its far from revolutionary and i personally found the P3 kinda disappointing, like a fancy SVD V2. Each to their own, i'm sure all the fans will buy it and love it, but there's no need to get bent out of shape because not everyone is impressed with this mod

Anyways this thread is supposed to be for opinions on the new P3, whatever that opinion may be, everyone is entitled to share right? If your too sensitive and cannot stand to see the criticism of a mod you like/own/want, maybe you should start your own thread 'Gushing provari fanboys ONLY', or better yet log out the forum, slap yourself in the face, have a glass of water and get some composure, and remember its just a device to keep you off the fags, not a cult/religion/lifestyle lol

Provape has repeatedly stated they are not going after or have any interest in the sub ohm market, simply put if you prefer sub ohm vaping the P3 was not designed for your vaping style.

The .7ohm - 5amp - 20 watt limits are just that, the maximum designed limits. Again if your vaping style is outside those designed limits the P3 was not designed for your vaping style.
4v ~ .8 ohms = 20 watts & 5 amps, oh no the world is gonna end because I have to go up a whole .1 of an ohm to get 20w.

Why is it so hard for some folks to understand and accept that there is a large market share that have no need or interest in low/sub ohm, high watt, high amp vaping...
And no, they are not missing anything, vaping is all about personal preferences, it is not a competition.

Why complain, whine and start or participate in an E bashfest about a product that was not designed for and was never intended for your style of vaping.
There are literally dozens of other devices to chose from, if the Provari or P3 doesn't suite your needs/wants, pick something else and be happy there are multiple choices for everyone's personal vaping preferences.

Last time I checked no one had to buy a full kit. $215 is the price I paid from VapeRev.

That's still 50 bucks more than a Provari

There are lots of us that have found that we can produce one hell of a cloud with a 2+ ohm coil.
So maybe if the design limits of the P3 doesn't produce what you want, you should be looking for a different atomizer so that it will.

seems like the new p3 would fit my needs just fine. i like the boot feature as i tend to primer puff alot. and i already find a .7-.9 coil is a range i like as well.
i do own a mech and use it sometimes i tend to like a regulated mod.too bad they wont start selling online BUT im only 45 minutes away from provape and alot of provape retailers..i dont care what the cost is it will be a sturdy mod..

Nathaniel, my phone doesn't allow me to include your quote but this is in response...
My sx350 is the Tatroe Atlas. So far, I've had 0 issues and it does exactly what I need it too. As far as reliability, its too new to say. I love it and I hope it lasts.
My point was that its silly to compare the two. Where are all of these "most technologically advanced" and "pinnacle of ....." comments you're talking about?
You can bash me and call me a fanboy or whatever other nonsense you felt the need to hurl...but I simply stated that its the most reliable device out there and it has the best follow up service. I hope the sx350 will prove to be as reliable but it hasn't been around long enough to know. I have a sneaky suspition that if I spill a glass of water on it, its gonna die. Who knows?
Point is, attack away, but "most advanced" never came from me.

Arrr come on i'm not having a personal dig at you or anyone else, and i got nothing against you or anyone else.

If you spilled water on your mod and it broke that would be down to the mods build quality and not the chips quality or efficiency which is what i was talking about. Provari's build quality is not in question here, they are tried and proven, and are one of the most solid and durable mods you can buy no doubt.

The fanboy remark wasn't directed at you either, it was a general comment directed at those who cannot stand to see someone post they aren't impressed with the P3 without having a rant about it or going off on one about their own past experience of how much better the provari is then anything else, or giving it the "have you ever even held a provari? No!? Then go away and don't share an opinion on this device"

If it came across otherwise i'm sorry mate, i'm not here to be a keyboard warrior, only learn, help where possible, share opinions, views and experiences, and maybe a little banter as well :)

Nathaniel, I gotcha. The same people piss me off too. I think I pointed that out to whoever that was saying non provari owners shouldn't participate in this thread. The p3 has nothing I need. I really hoped it would be a "game changer". I'm confident it will be an excellent 20w device but I was hoping for more.

Same here. If it was 30 W I wouldn't be here on ECF right now, I'd be on provape.com hammering away on the F5 key.

As it stands, maybe I'll buy the P3 as soon as it is added to their web shop, maybe I'll wait and see if the P3.5 will have more power. I'm simply not sure if the improvements of the P3 make enough of a difference to me. My Provari 2.5 already fills all my low and medium wattage needs very well.

My sentiment exactly mate. As battery technology develops and demand for high powered devices increases, Provape may end up creating a device for the high power vapers - it was only a few months ago people were saying "provari wouldn't make a VW device, it's not necessary" so who knows. They are a business at the end of the day, and even 10% of a multi-billion dollar industry is nothing to sweep under the rug. Could you imagine the hysterics in the industry if provape made a 50-100W mod? Provape wouldn't be able to make them quick enough i reckon.
