No don't get me wrong I am far from bashing it, and your absolutely right in saying it is suitable for 90% of vapers out there, as are ego pens. All I'm doing is responding to the naive saying this device is the pinnacle of technology when there are devices much more capable and just as reliable. It is good, and some may feel the price is worth paying, I think it's overpriced based on my own needs and i'm pretty sure many others feel the same, and over here in the UK it would be sold much more expensive anyway, i'd imagine at least £250, which is over $400.

What SX350 do you own which is unreliable? A DIY job or custom build i'm guessing, making it the device thats unreliable and not the chip, as my experience with this chip found it to be accurate, reliable, with fully functioning safety features - I'm not talking about device to device, i'm speaking about chip to chip. APV's will all last long depending on how they are looked after anyway, my gf's itaste vv3 has been going strong since january, and i've got an old vamo thats been alive for nearly a year and still does it's job, and the build quality on those is far from perfect. And lets not forget provaris aren't without there issues either anyway, just google provari issues lol. All i'm saying is the SX350 chip is more advanced and capable with all the necessary safety features included as well, whereas the P3 chip has the same capabilities as chips that have already been on the market for ages, with some added bells and whistles. It's built well no doubt, the looks are subjective though.

The 'minority' of users asking for more power is still estimated to be 5-10% of this $1.5bn industry - and growing - thats $75m-$150m market right there, and a higher percentage of the high power users are prepared to part with a load of cash for a good mod then the 90-95% the provari is supposed to cater to, the vaaaast majority of that 90-95% don't even know what variable voltage is, and would laugh at the idea of spending a fortune on any luxury PV device.

I don't understand why provari can't be criticized without a bunch of sensitive and agitated fanboys jumping to its defense like they own stocks in provape. I swear if I posted a thread right now saying i've got an issue with my old v2.5 provari there would be a huge list of frantic fanboys commenting how reliable and great there device is, the mountains of mods they've outlasted, etc etc etc. before i'd even get an answer on how to sort my issue.

All i'm saying is the provari is good, but its far from revolutionary and i personally found the P3 kinda disappointing, like a fancy SVD V2. Each to their own, i'm sure all the fans will buy it and love it, but there's no need to get bent out of shape because not everyone is impressed with this mod

Well said.

It’s been mentioned in a few of these threads, and I can’t help but think the 20w limit, when clearly not a technical hurdle for provape (or Innokin for that matter) was decided on with an eye toward future pending government regulation. These are, after all- mass produced consumer mods. Not hobby mods.
The FDA needs to ban some stuff but it can’t ban all our stuff without creating too many criminals. Maybe Provape and Innokin know something we don’t.

If I wanted a revolution; I'd join a militia. Just give me VW, a durable construction and a look that lasts. Twenty watts will exceed my usual wattage by near three times. My old 2.5 using an18650 looks and functions as it did when I got it, quite a while and many button cycles ago. Quality endures, is even enhanced by, both time and use.

I've had the sigelei 20W since the end of April. It has been absolutely amazing for me. I usually vape between 12-14W using a 1.6-1.8 coil. That being said if this P3 is anything like the things I've heard about the 2.5 I'll be buying one.. Why might you ask?

1) If my sigelei breaks right now I basically have to throw it away. I have no support what so ever for it. (The Sigelei does include a 1 year warranty, as stated on the website)
2) If a Zen is a cadalac, the Sigelei is a Civic. The Provari is an M1 Abrams tank. I need a tank in my lineup. I don't need a cadalac (yet) and I have my civic. What I don't have is a tank to storm beaches with.

I know that's only a couple reasons but its reason enough for me to pick one up. Honestly this is the perfect device for me. It may not be perfect for everyone but I really think Provape has went in the right direction. Personally we need companies like Provape that make high quality devices for beginners and intermediate vapors. Just my opinion, I'm happy.

To each their own.

B&Ms will be receiving 2 units for beta testing from Provape. They won't be selling these. Each shop will receive 2 units once the official sale date is released. They are expecting to start selling units within 30-45 days.
If you want check one out your local provari dealer should have one to check out within days.
This is what I was told at my local B&M yesterday. They carry the full line from Provape

The Sigelei 20w is covered by a 1yr manufacturers warranty

You are absolutely correct and I shouldn't have posted disinformation in my post. I'm so used to my China goods not having warranties that I never bother to look and that's my fault. I will say looking at the materials I have I do not see the warranty information but I do not have one of the two pieces of paper that were included in the package. I checked their website for the product, which I've never done and I see a warranty section. I will correct my post.

Thanks!

No probs mate :) Btw i wasn't trying to be a smartass, just would want you throwing that fantastic device away unnecessarily should anything go wrong! :toast:

Most of the china stuff comes either without cover, DOA cover only, or just a 30-90 cover, but some of the Chinese Manufacturers like pioneer4you/green leaf, innokin, Sigelei, etc. seem like they're tryna separate themselves from the lower end stuff and stepping up their game when it comes to quality and offering 1 year warranties. I suspect my addiction to buying new vape stuff would kick in long before the warranty is up on any of my stuff haha

So, has anyone ever been successful in turning in one of these for warranty work? I ask because I had an issue with an Innokin product and their vender only offered a 30 day warranty, even though there was a longer warranty stated on the Innokin website. I tried to contact Innokin, but never had any luck getting an answer. I know that some people have been able to get through to Innokin and I know this is Segelei we are taking about, but I was just curious to hear if anyone had good luck with Segelei in terms of CS..

I am very impressed with this new version, but I agree it should go up to 30 watts.... It's not like no one else has 30 watt devices and it's not like they blow up all the time, plus I bet they don't have all the redundant safety features you get in a Provari.

Also, I have a suggestion for a feature on the button color (PROVAPE, PLEASE READ THIS ONE):

I would seriously like to see an option where the button color changes to reflect the battery charge state. There are quite a few flashlights out there that feature this and in this case all that's needed is a little bit of programming as everything that's needed to achieve this is already there. My 2.5 already knows when it's time to change the battery, so why not take it to the next level?
