"Packing" the e-cig? I swear this works.....

I use the spring out of an ink pen and it keeps the filler from shrinking down to begin with, and holds liquid better. I just stretched out the spring, cut it to size and twisted it counter-clockwise into the poly filling and press it into the cart, it also works if you just split the filler down the middle and then wrap it around the spring, (You can get 3 of them, out of one spring, once it's stretched out)

Hmmmm... I might try that. Doesn't the spring heat up though? I am wondering if it can melt the plastic of the cart on the bottom. I've had a couple of carts start melting on me already - baaaaad smell.

No, the spring doesn't heat up. Never has, and I've been doing it for over 2 weeks now. Never had a problem. Works great

Wow, that sounds like what the inside of a VK/KR808D-1 Cartomizer looks like when "looking down the barrel' without the caps on. A spring/coil shaped wire surrounded by batting.

Have the straw mod on my 801 but it doesn't help with the filler packing to the bottom of the cart.

To the OP you may want to tap it with the battery off (unless you have a sealed battery) to prevent juice from getting in the battery.
You probably have a high bridge atomizer. Look at the low bridge atomizer for better wicking.
joye302 wicks great, so does the bestecigs be112

I tried a variation on the straw mod in my 801....I used 2 straws, positioned in opposing corners and MAN OH MAN it upped my vapor output like crazy and I use all the juice without having to tap it to force the juice into the atty. I was worried that it would be kinda overkill but I dont have any bad taste and I use less polyfill than I would without the straw. I still top off cause I wanna make my attys last as long as possible and my 801 attys are the high bridge which tends to mash down the fiber. So far I havent had any negative effects using this method. If your not sure what the straw mod is just search the term "straw modification" and just add another straw in the opposite corner. I think the 901 carts are too small to accomodate 2 straws....Im thinking of using a smaller diameter straw and try 2 in my 901. Anyone else try this dual straw mod??

Direct drip only... no carts needed... take that darn filler material out of the cart. Drip two or three drops directly on the atty and puff until you get a dry taste. Put it down for a while... Pick it up Drop two drops on the atty, puff until you taste dry again. Put it down for a while pick it up drop two drops on the atty, puff until you taste dry... repeat....

No juice in the mouth, No burnt filler material, no time wasted with carts...Since I started this method vaping is much better. Trust me... give it a few days and you get the hang of it...

Dripping is a pain the rear end, especially when on the go.
And dipping is better than dripping.

I dip all day at work with my 306 atomizer on my 510 manual battery.
It works out really well when you want to take smoke breaks.

But when on the go I use my 510 atomizer with cartridges.

Your mom said not to say...
I have 2 different types of E-Cigs at the moment and with any luck that's all I will ever need, each has it's own operational quirks.

The Dragon that I have is great for dipping rather than dripping, with dripping you are letting the liquid run down into the battery destroying the battery over time. What i do is put about 10-15 drops of liquid into a contact lens carry case, one of those plastic jobs that you can get for $3 just about any CVS or something. It's much easier and cleaner than dripping and it is even possible to dip while driving, something I don't recommend but if you must I would rather people dip than drip while driving.

The 510 design makes dipping impossible but you can drip with that and be done with carts. I still haven't made up my mind about dripping with the 510 maybe I drip too much on it because it seems to me I am just making it gurgle rather than smoke better. The carts hold a lot more juice and are so much easier to fill than the m401 style like the Dragon that I just buy some Fluval from a pet store and that stuff is perfect for the 510 carts. You can cut it just the right size to slide right in the hole perfectly.

So in short, m401 and other types that present the atomizer on the outside you can easily dip rather than drip, and for the 510 and other hidden style atomizers dripping and filling with Fluval as replacement filler works great. I would almost say that the Fluval is actually a better filler than the polyfil that is used to start with. Fluval is also a great replacement filler for m401 style E-cigs as well. It is cheap and easily available.

I'm not sure I'm understanding this problem or this solution, but if I am, this is what I do:

If I know there is liquid in the cart but I am not getting the flavor, I blow into the cart instead of inhaling. It seems to move the liquid that is trapped down by the mouth end, up to the contact/atty end.

If this is not the same problem/solution, sorry to interrupt.

I've used a combination of light packing, flicking the cart, blowing, and the rubber-spoon methods people have talked about here.

I Washed filler before hand and juiced it up. I had great taste and smoke all day. When i pulled the filler out when cart started to get "funky" and smoke was down the filler was almost all white. Definately an improvement over just gravity from it being upside down. Still kinda wanna try the straw method though...

I have used this method as well. Now when I need to do this I replace the packing in the cart and make sure it completely fills the cart.

So i just got my first bottle of juice today....E-smokey treats menthol and I just refilled a bunch of cartridges. Having looked inside and taken apart the carts, rinsed out the filler ect.....I kinda got a good understanding of exactly how the relationship of the filler, liquid and atty work together.

After vaping on a cart for a while and then getting that funky taste of a dying cartdrige I peeked inside and noticed the filler was pushed way back into the cart. I "packed" it against my hand to bring it out a little more, thus bringing more wetness to the atty...and it tasted better with more vape.. Ive been packing the whole thing from time to time (LED side down on my palm) and I swear this seems to draw some liquid towards the atty and push the filler closer making better vape.

Does anyone else do this or am I just smoking something??

Get it?? SMOKING SOMETHING??
