One thing I have learned over time is it takes patience....yes I think I need help with focusing and the candle helps me to do that....and yes it may not work for everyone...everyone is different and so I say to find what works for you...use it and keep it close until you can do what Fuzzy does....
Meditation is a must as it does quiet the mind.....
I don't know if I want to get into all the different ways of scrying or divining.....but they are all forms of meditation..
If anyone has any questions I can try to help...I tried many different forms before I found mine....

(I copied & pasted but I knew what you meant...) I love red dragons....fire is my friend....

I do a daily Tarot card reading and for today my card is the Queen of Cups............that is what is in store for me today....
cups being emotion..I often meditate with this and prepare myself for what maybe in store for me. It could be me or someone I meet today....
a1af7cd5ee80c98564d1aced79e54a6d.jpg

I believe it's myself today....I have it all in hand, but there is a storm brewing on the horizon....Cups is emotions...so it's not always easy to see it coming(for me)......

Knowing ourselves, or learning to know ourselves, is a powerful answer to an even more powerful question. Gaining confidence through small accomplishments is like scientists forming a stronger and stronger hypothesis. One victory or bit of proven result, builds on the previous one until we grow confident of what we once only suspected. The power is always only in us. What we use to manifest that power often become beloved and cherished tools. They are means by which a visual and touchable enactment of what is invisible and unseen takes place. After years of using these visible tools, I also oftentimes find it unnecessary to take the time to reenact in real-time with these touchable, visible symbols and let it take place mentally and spiritually, but oddly enough feel nostalgic for the ritual... :) Either approach produces the same result... Enjoying my visit in this space. Putting words to concepts, descriptions to thoughts is a helpful and cathartic thing. Blessings to all within my reach.

I think he is off in greener dragon pastures at the moment....but I think of him fondly often ...specially during thunderstorms....(Fuzzy is quite the accomplished meteorologist among many many other things....)
I can tell you are a breath of (fresh) air @CronesCauldron ....and again..welcome

Your method of placing your cards in the window to let the Sun and Moon bless them and age them is unique, at least for me. I like it :). Personally, I don't believe in coincidence. Serendipity is simply magick spelled with more letters ;).

My first and main form of divination has been Tarot. Relationships of all kinds evolve over time, and our relationships with our magickal tools/correspondeces/interpreters are no different, I guess. Perhaps, it's time for a conversation ;) - Blessings

Merry meet all, lilblue1, I believe you said that you lay cards each morning. I do the same, most days, as well. I hope it's alright with you if I share a bit about this spread.

Today, I'm using the Pentagram Spread.

A bit of definition about this favorite spread of mine is the pentagram is an ancient symbol of power, protection, healing and wholeness that is at least five thousand years old. Renaissance interpretations of Pythagora's teachings depict it as the supreme symbol to portray the health of body and mind, and to symbolze the idea of soundness or wholeness of the human being. Later, when the symbol entered the Western Magical Tradition, each of its five points came to represent the four elements of Earth, Air, Fire an Water, with the fifth uniting element being, Spirit.

The Pentagram spread works with the functions of human consciousness that Jung related to the elements: thinking with Air, feeling with Water, intuition with Fire, and sensation (using the fie senses) with Earth. Jung also identified a 'transcendent' fifth function that we might refer to as 'Spirit', which guides our development, helps us resolve inner conflicts, and offers symbols to us in dreams or meditations that can help us n our quest for wholeness and healing.

The Pentagram spread helps explore the influences of these five functions in life, and is ideal for gaining insights into deepening the quest. It may also offer guidance if feeling out of balance, or direction toward integrating different aspects of growth into your life.

1. Place of the Inner Flame
2. Place of the Well
3. Place of the Sword
4. Place of the Stone
5. Place of the Spirit

1. The bright fire of your intuition offers you the seeds of inspiration to bring enthusiasm, creativity and new ideas. The card in this position may illuminate the role of intuition in your life, or suggest ways in which this might be developed, or it may relate to a new idea or direction that is about to dawn.

2. The deep well of feeling brings humanity and warmth to our actions and experience. The card in this position may illuminate the role of your emotions in your life, or suggest ways in which your emotional maturity might be developed, or it may relate to influences that are affecting your feelings, or the life of your heart.

3. The sword of the mind brings clarity, discrimination, and the ability to judge between courses of action. The card in this position may illuminate the role of your intellect in your life, or suggest ways n which your mind might be developed, or it may relate to influences that are affecting your thoughts or judgement.

4. The realm of stone and earth is the realm of the body, the five senses, and the physical world. The card in this position may illuminate the role of your body and senses in your life, or suggest ways in which your health might be improved, or it may relate to influences that are affecting your health and your physical circumstances.

5. Here the card represents the gifts or advice of the transcendent fifth function. This might be in the form of an idea or symbol that can help you achieve a sense of wholeness, balance and integration, or it may relate more generally to the needs of the soul.

Got to run... Visit later. Blessed be

My card today, and I keep them in the windowsill as well: Strength.

The title of this card is often misleading because most people tend to think of strength as a property of the physical body. But this is not a card of brute force, because none of the Major Arcana apply directly to the physical body. These are cards of ideas, feeling and beliefs; trying to make a Major Arcanum depicting someone strong of body would be a pointless exercise. But strength is not always measured in terms of how much you can lift or how fast you can run. True Strength is fortitude of character, and the ability to not only control the emotions, but to rise above them, and triumph over all out lower impulses and desires.

This card continues the lesson of the Chariot, showing that once we have learned to control emotion, we must rise above it. Many people attribute the notions of forgiveness, compassion and nurturing to this card, but this is clearly not what is shown by Strength. This is a Fire card, and therefore detrimental to all the emotions. The only qualities that abound in Strength are courage and patience. Neither of these are really emotions, but ways of acting and doing that are not tempered by feeling. Courage is the antithesis of fear; patience, the control of worldly desires. There is no emotion here, just determination and action.
The symbology of the lion is common to Strength, and aptly so. The lion is the "beast within", the raging inner desire inside every one of us that must be controlled or it will be set free to manifest in the world. The image of the woman opening the mouth of the lion shows both courage and patience; she must not fear the lion, and she must wait for it to tire before she can exert her own will upon it. This is not an image of compassion in any sense of the word; how can forcing a creature to obey your will be seen as compassionate? Forgiveness and nurturing are likewise not to be seen anywhere in this image. There is just the purity of the maiden and the power of her inner beast that she is attempting to control.
She needs patience to defeat the lion because her power is not brute physical force, as mentioned. The force she has is very little, but it can be applied infinitely, and she will continue to apply light but constant pressure until the lion submits to her superior will. It does show a certain determination, and the conviction that even small results will have effects if kept up long enough, just as a constant dripping hollows a stone. So Strength is not a card of compassion and love, but a card of quiet yet unstoppable power. Such power radiates from the soul, and for a consciousness aware of this power, there can be no resistance, and no defeat.
The qualities of Strength are already in you, waiting to appear once you have mastered all your base emotions and when you are ready to move on to the spiritual tasks that lie ahead. Its main lesson is that emotions must be transcended if spiritual wisdom and intuition are to be awakened. Whispers from the intuition are often drowned out by the constant roar of emotion and preoccupation and fear. Only once you have eliminated these can the silence you need be created. So conquer your fears, control your impulses, and never lose patience with yourself or what you are doing. Eventually you will see the wisdom of letting go of your lower self.
This is not a card of love over hatred, as most would see it. This is simply mind over matter, superior will over inferior desires. No matter how strong the beast within you seems, you have the power to control it and make it submit to your will. This cannot be done with physical force or with undue haste; it is a slow and difficult process. When Strength is around, however, you can be assured that you have enough endurance to see this task through to its eventual end. If you are pushing too hard, Strength shows the need to withdraw for the moment, and be patient. Enlightenment will come only when the time is right; it cannot be rushed.

And boy did I need it almost all day long.

Good write up! The Strength card is one of my favorites. I agree with what you wrote concerning the basic meaning of this card. For me it's more about suppressing the emotion of fear or uncertainty and letting the fire of courage take the reigns.

I love the Guilded deck and have it, too. It's truly a work of art. I own about 6 decks. Not that many compared to some... The funny thing is I find myself using this small, sort of obscure, little deck about 2" x 3" big by Rosalind Simmons the most, ha! It's small enough to slip into my purse, so I have it with me all the time. It's also small enough that if I want to lay a spread quickly or on the spur of the moment, the cards don't take up that much room.

My other decks are all beloved as well, though ;) <3 I try to use each of them now and then, or at least hold them. It feels good to just move my fingers over the pictures and become familiar again. They each hold something very special.

We all are so individual in our readings and possibly in why we would choose to use one deck over the other for a particular reading. I would love to read your interpretations. It would be great to read others', as well, even briefly or in segments. Anyone who is interested in sharing, learning or discussing. We all have something to share, to teach. I believe there's an innate closeness or bond between those who use oracles to improve our lives, increase our understanding of things that can't be seen and do so for others as well. Reading how other readers interpret what they see is fascinating to me and may be a help to us all.
