I've been cig-free long enough. My sense of taste is back. But for the last couple of days, I've had trouble tasting my favorite vapes. I brushed my teeth a bunch of times, I've eaten a normal variety of foods, and nothing seems to help. I've read other threads where people talk about losing their taste senses for a few days, then it comes back.

My question is: have any of you found a sure-fire method for cleaning your palette so you taste your vapes again?

If you're vaping the same flavor all the time, then try switch to something else for a little bit. You can try eating a small piece of crusty bread, too.

If you have a stuffy/runny nose you probably won't be able to taste anything, and sometimes you just go through "flavor cycling" where you can't taste anything from your juice.

Try exhaling through your nose. Taste is as much about how something smells.

Taste buds replace themselves every few weeks. There really isn't much you can do when you go through a dead spell except keep your mouth clean and maybe gargle salt water to promote healing.

When it happens to me I pull out juices I'm not crazy about (to use them up) and/or mint flavors (to get some sensation). It will pass. The longest I've gone with little or no flavor is two days, but the good news is I wake up and flavors are better than ever.

Hang in there.

+2 on the Peach, It seems to clear up my taste enough to taste a different flavor I'd rather vape. I find it hard to go from things like German Choc Cake to somthing like a maple tobacco from BWB. As stated the flavors for me, have to be COMPLETLEY different to taste ones i switch to. I also sometime get some sort of "film" feeling in my mouth after I vape all day. I am a chain vaper too lol I'm sure that's got somthing to do with it!

I'll try saltines if this continues tomorrow, but the salty water failure doesn't give me a lot of hope. I'll have to check my Armageddon stash, but I doubt I have any peach.
As for brushing, I brush everything, including roof of mouth. I even tried mouthwash, which I hate. That just made everything taste like a really bad menthol, lol.

Behind you
My mom used to make us have a chilled wedge of citrus and a sprig of mint between taste testing sessions for her restaurant cooking experiments. Then a bit of water. I've heard the same about sorbet, just let it melt on your tongue. In both cases I was told to breath through your nose deeply at the same time. Good luck, -Magnus

What is wrong with me? If I exhale through my nose I don't taste a thing!
