Here. I too my last setup apart and got my wire from it. Melted no resistance and resistance wire together so there is 100% sure connection between them. Negative silver wire is under nut, so negative connection is pretty much 100% too.

Resistance in my old setup was 2 ohms before i took it apart. Now my provari says its 2 ohms also. How can that be? That length of 30awg wire resistance should be less than 1 ohm.

I was wondering that do i think about length of wire too much? :D Maybe i just need to cut little shorter wire if last one is too high resistance. That one is about 40mm long and gets me 4 wraps around two 3mm wicks.

Greetings. Sorry to derail the thread. I recently acquired a Penelope. It's my first introduction to GG products, and it's a very dangerous thing because now I feel a powerful urge to get more GG stuff! What's so magical about Penelope is that IT WORKS! Something that everything should do but almost nothing does. I don't have to hold it upside down to make it wick, it wicks and wicks consistently. And it has a juice control that lets me go from totally off to flooding if I so choose. What a simple and awesome feature. Why has nothing from China ever worked even half as well as this? It also happens to look beautiful and has a great name. Penelope is the best atomizer on planet earth period, and I'm going to need a second job just for buying GG stuff.

I do have a few questions though:
First, from watching videos and whatnot, it seems you can screw the positive post out pretty far for air flow. Well I have to screw it as hard as I can, till my hands are nearly bleeding, for it to make any electrical contact at all. The best I can get is pretty much just the positive pin being flush with the negative threads (well maybe just a hair past that.) I did read that you can use a smaller o-ring, but once I get it to connect, the air flow is fine on all my devices so there's no real problem, I'm just wondering if this is normal.

Also, I have heard a lot about people breaking the ceramic, this has me very paranoid. Any advice on what to avoid (besides obvious things like not dropping it)? If I break my ceramic I will probably jump in a lake and drown myself. I haven't followed the GG selling frenzies, but I can tell that it's intense, and ceramics probably won't be available anytime soon, but my question is: Will they ever come back for sale? Or is it pretty much get them when they first come out or you miss out for ever? If anyone has any they would be willing to part with, I would gladly pay $10 or more for one, so that I had a little sense of security.

Anyways, thank you Imeo for making this wonderful device and sharing it with the world.

Not sure about the ceramic-breaking issue (and I have seen them up on sale/available at COV more often than not), but for the positive post issue, make sure to lubricate the tiny o-ring on the bottom assembly with some Vaseline (not much, just a very light coat) and you'll have a much easier time. Also make sure that you're not cross-threading the two pieces. If you're getting too much resistance when initially screwing them together, you're likely threading them wrong - pull back and try again. If you're getting lots of resistance when you're almost done screwing them together and just aren't getting enough of the positive post to make contact with your PV, luring up the o-ring should take care of that.

OK, so there will be more ceramics available. That makes me feel much better. Thank you.

@Dominicanto
Thanks. I'm being very careful not to cross-thread anything, it only becomes hard to screw at the end. I did lube the o-ring and that did help a little, also just rebuilding it a few times it seems to have loosened up a bit. Again it's not really a problem, I guess the positive pin just barely sticks out with the stock o-ring.

I would recommend trying it without the bottom o ring and see if it is loose enough if it is try a smaller o-ring.

As for ceramic breaking I havn't broken a pene creamic yet and honestly only ever broke Ody ceramics when I chanded them out by either over tightening or by modifying them. Although I have never dropped either on hard ground while rebuuilding. However in the unfortunate event that you do break a ceramic this community normally is very generous and we are almost always willing to help each other out.

Glad you got your Penelope.

Yes. Ceramics do come available. Sadly they sell so fast imeo can't seem to keep up. Partly because they come available so rarely, people buy up many at a time.

Yes. That is extremely tight on both my penelope. It'll thread normal and at the end, you'll feel like it just shouldn't go. To make sure you can easily take it apart, lube up that little oring. IF you can't pull them apart, take a small screwdriver to the post end and it'll come apart easily. But know that if you do this, you'll likely have to tighten down the ceramic again. Just be gentle with it and do NOT do this over the sink. :)

cont... Whoops premature post.
So I have a question.
I have been building my wicks like Scott (igethca) did on his video and have gotten pretty quick at it. I can wrap a 2ohm coil in about 5mins, and it vapes freaking awesome...for about the first tank. Then on the second or third tank I start struggling with getting good vapor production from it, I find myself having to take 3 or 4 primer puffs, and take long slow draws that usually end up making me cough cause more air than vapor is going into my lounges, so I start tinkering with the juice control and sometimes I can get it working again for a few minutes then it starts declining again.
I am not a mechanical or electrical minded person so I have no idea what could be causing this.
Any ideas?
Or if this has been addressed somewhere else could you provide a magical link to fix my problems?
Either way I love my penelope and look forward to figuring this out so I can buy and ody for my ggts :D
Thanks!

After every tank or so take the tank off and unscrew mouthpiece/juice control and you should see gunk build up on your wick...rinse wick under hot water, lightly dab dry,dry burn a few times till you see your coils glowing through gunk, blow gunk ashes off, reassemble, refill and enjoy.
edit.. this is if using silica wick, not cotton.
