Noob question here..

I just bought a Penelope of a friend and I don't have any of the R/Nr wire.. where can I buy ready made ones like you apparently get when you buy them new.

I will eventually start to make my own but for the time being I'm really busy and just want to order some pre-made wires

:::EDIT::::

Just found them on the Greek site..ordered some pre-made and some wick and wires for later building.

Sorry for the intrusion. Please continue.

Yup thats the one, and at last he has paypal.. not sure if it's up on the site yet but it's coming. He's totally revamping the site. This will be the site to get all the GG stuff in the future.

He's a top guy V.

Should be easy set up with the pre made wires.
Let me know how it is.

Yes plus I ordered all the wicks and wires from e-bay so I'll be doing it the DIY way also.. thanks for all the help and tips Kickback. You have helped big time.

If anything this has given me time to really study the Penelope and it's design. Very much looking forward to firing it up. :toast:

Hey nomo, as far as the airy draw, the only thing you can do is try to screw in the ceramic housing less so that it sits lower in the connector, though I don't find a lot of room to play with really, but the draw is just fine for my tastes.

I have only had a Penelope for a little while but I have rebuilt the coil about ten times, mostly just for fun, and there was one coil that did pop like crazy. I have had other things besides Penelope do that before but it doesn't really bother me. But anyways when I changed the coil it has never happened again. I do wonder what is the cause of the poping that does seem to occur in various atomizers sometimes.

Mine pops constantly and very loud if I may say so:) It is like bombs going off in my mouth:evil:

Bishopheals made a good point about this to me a while back: either too much juice on the coil (close the juice control and vape it through) or you just have that new coil popping sound which is a good thing! Half a tank later, you should have a lot less popping going on. Some people love that sound (especially if you came from cartos where that sounds just means its working).

As for the airiness of the draw, shorten the length of the center post. What I do (I'm using a Provari) is, after building your coil and getting everything together on the atomizer portion, screw the threaded metal ceramic housing into the base until the positive post peaks out about a millimeter or so from the bottom opening of the base. Screw it onto your mod and see how much of a gap you habe between the base and the top of your mod. There should be just enough (like a millimeter) to allow air through. If do, you're good. To test, screw on the mouthpiece and, without firing take a pull and see if it's as airy as you like it. If not, either screw the metal ceramic housing further into the base (center post peeks out more; airier draw), or unscrew it a bit (center post retracts into the base; tighter draw) and test with the mouthpiece until the draw is just right. Screw the metal locking ring tightly above the base so that it holds the position, screw on the tank piece, fill, cover and vape! :) careful not to make the draw too tight, otherwise you'll get little vapor and not enough air circulation which could make the atty get real hot. The Penny does generally have an airier draw then most, by the way - you just have to play with your draw a bit the way you would with any atomizer until it just "feels" right.

Well, I have experienced some popping that is very different than the crackling of a cartomizer. It will be one or two very noticeable pops, to the extent that you can actually feel the pressure from it. But again, I have experienced this more from other things than from Penelope. On Penelope it was only ever one coil that I made where it happened continuously through several refills, and in this case it wasn't the juice control because that was messed with back and forth to no real noticeable effect. Funny thing is, I kind of liked it myself, and wouldn't be opposed to recreating a similar coil, but I have no idea what I did that caused it. lol

You know what, I think that may be the answer. When I first started making coils I tended to overestimate how much wire I should use and ended up with too many coils that were all real close, they may even have ended up touching. I'm using a Young June Lavatube that uses PWM and it runs too hot, so I need a relatively high resistance (but I don't run things nearly as high as lots of people, usually 8 or so watts). Anyways, I started using a 34 gauge instead of 32 so I can get a higher resistance with less coils and as I said it has stopped.

So if you're still reading nomo, I think that may be the answer to the popping, a combination of too many coils, too close, or even touching.

Thanks for helping to solve that mystery, Dominicanto.

Well, I have one on the way, I couldn't resist after all the great things I've heard about them. I've been trying to read, and absorb all the info in this thread (lots of good stuff in there BTW, thanks!), and it's a lot. I've been doing genesis stuff for a couple weeks now, and have done well with that. Is there any one particular thing a Penelope noob should know before mine shows up next week?

Maybe this has been discussed before but I have two issues with my Penelope. One it is too airy, I like a tighter draw and secondly I don't know why mine pops so loudly and violently:) Any help or suggestion appreciated.
It seems to b a little airy to me too. I've done up 2 wicks now and the flavor seems to b muted. I did up the coil and wick just like Scott( igetch69) from his video on the Penelope. I even tried a double wick and I still get better flavor on my vivi nova. I don't get it.
