Good input all... :toast:

I've done a silica build in the V2 without wick in the channels but it didn't work that well. I guess I'll have to give it another shot.

My current setup in the V3 with 3mm wick down in both channels and a 1.1 Ohm Kanthal coil works very nice. I'm vaping away on it as I type this with 10W dailed in on a Semovar.

So, is it better to put the cotton in the channels or to cut it flush with housing?

Like aalwani says. But don't be tempted to put in too much. It takes only a surprisingly small amount of cotton to work really well. Remember - it will swell up quite a lot as it sucks up the juice.
Good luck...

... Cotton cut just outside the deck and tucked back against the top of the channels (not in them)....
I got mine today and just thought I'd try this setup first, although I cut the wick maybe 1.5mm outside the deck. Didn't finish the first tank yet but with the MP turned once I didn't have any issues. The draw is new to me also and I'm getting used to it as for me it's between mouth to lung and lung inhale, using it on a provari, nice vape

As for the atty, I don't know how Imeo did it but it looks better than v2, so cheers to the modder :)

Has anyone tried a micro coil with the chamber lightly packed with cotton? The cotton would still run through the coil but instead of blocking the wick holes directly they just collect incoming juice.
It seems I'm having some wicking issues. With a micro coil and short cotton wick I can't seem to find the sweet spot. Too wide open and it floods, choke it to much and dry hits. Whadya think?

I posted pictures of my setup that didn't cause any dry hits or any floods. And I just open 3/4 of a turn.

Also Captain Steve posted his setup which I believe is working fine with him too.

I don't see the need to stuff cotton to collect liquid.

Okay, I cut the wick off ~ even with the edge of the housing, and it seems to be working better. I've managed to flood it instead of deal with dry hits. I can deal with flooding, I know how to fix that.

I still need to have the liquid control open quite a bit, but that's probably not a big deal. It doesn't flood while it's laying down or sitting on my desk.

Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.

thank you beco, I am glad you like it:)
use white gasoline from a supermarket, its the best cleaner. Then wash it with soal and water
    Just got mine.
    Great GG product once again.

I'm getting rather strong machine oil taste with mine-how should I optimally clean it?
    I don't have ultrasonic cleaner

microcoils are nice but dont burn the wire Fog, it makes it dangerous for your health. Just make coils very close each other and you will have exactly the result you want
I recall reading in one of the threads here that Imeo is not in favor of micro coils?

If anything I bought my Penelope's for silica builds. I have mc-cotton setups in my Kayfuns too. Works great but for a lot of liquids I still prefer silica.

I use it with 2mm silica and works exactly as it has to work Beco but I dont put wick on channels. Maybe only 1mm of wick goes on channels
With the shallow channels I also think v3 is made for cotton only.

Also I would like a little stiffer draw.
Is there a way to make it stiffer?
