Just got my Penny V3 in the mail, few things:
Is it possible to adjust the air flow while assembled (If so, How?)
The center post screw seems to wiggle back up on me, what am I doing wrong, or is there something I can do to stabilize that? Or is there a way to lower the post without loosening the screw?
Wicked with 2mm silica atm, I have 3mm as well, but it didn't seem to want to wick as well, maybe I just built it wrong?
I usually wrap my coils around 1.5-2ohms, which is 4/5 on a single wick or 3/4 on a double wick...I've tried both of them, and with the liquid control open to about 4 full turns, I'm getting dry hits.

Using a ProVari V2.5.
I use NiChrome 32g and Silica wick. Not really interested in changing either, I don't like the flavor of Kanthal and I'm happy with Silica.

Do you have the wick going down the channels? I cut my wick (actually cotton) flush with the housing and it works fine for me. Its my first build and tank though but I don't see problems ahead.
Sometimes people wrap the coils to tight but I think its the channels. These are so narrow on P3 that there is a good chance to block liquid flow with wick inside them.
Maybe a picture of your build would help!

Just got mine.
Great GG product once again.

I'm getting rather strong machine oil taste with mine-how should I optimally clean it?
I don't have ultrasonic cleaner

Soap and/or toothpaste applied with an (old) toothbrush is how I cleaned mine (soap only). I am a bit picky about toothpaste on polished areas but for inner parts and inside the tank its ok for me. I think Bishop applied toothpaste in his cleaning video on the outsides of a brass GG so it should also be fine also for polished areas but better check the video to be sure! :)

You have to make sure it's the right kind of toothpaste, though.. typically the gel kind, not with any type of grit or anything.. Bishop mentions by name what he uses I believe. Also, some people (I believe Captain is one of them) even advise against using toothpaste at all because it has the potential to cause tiny little scratches.

Just a warning!

P.S. I use toothpaste on mine.. I think it's just plain greenish-blue Crest. I have since moved to an ultrasonic cleaner but still use toothpaste for threads afterward (if needed)

Penelope V3: She came, I cleaned, build, vaped and fell in love! Kudos to the creator! :toast:

That's exactly what happened here in Amsterdam today too! :)

Mine was very clean right out of the plastic. Quick rinse, slapped a silica wick & coil on, dang... Better taste than I've got from my Penny 2 till now right off the bat. Amazing... This really is a great piece of engineering beautifully build. I love it already.

Well thought I'd pick it from Fedex (depot 2 minute walk from work) but they moved last month and are now 3 miles away lol. Undeterred I went to get my prize :) Imeo what a fantastic creation, vapes a dream (especially with el toro vp), stunning work! And thank you Vassillis for getting these despacted so quickly. Her she is ;)

V3 received, cleaned and built. Super easy build. Not having to attach NR wire makes this a ton faster. The flavor is warmer and more full than even the V2. Also the threads seem to be absolutely silky smooth, again more so than the V2.
I'm a huge fan. This renders all other pennies obsolete imo.
The only thing it needs....SHORT MODE!

I've tried both ways, the last two builds I've done has had the wick going down the channels. I can vape for about 3-4 draws and then she's dry. Normally I'm so frustrated at that point that I just set it down and walk away for a while.

I've got a 2 year old here, and I can only distract him for so long so that I can sneak away to work on this...which is probably not helping my frustration level. He's decided that he's against naps, and refuses to take them lately...

I've been using Penelope V1 since Imeo released them, and I had a bit of stumbling at first, but I haven't had a bad coil since my first few...and that was what, Last year? 2 years ago?

Yaya this is the video Imeo made to show how to assemble the new rebuildable part of the Ithaka upgrade. It is EXACTLY the same even in size to the new Penelope V3. So just follow this video and you'll put it together again

Thanks for coming to the rescue Cap'n. I don't have the Ithaka so I would not have looked in this direction.;):blush:My hero:wub:

None that I know of. With a Just GG, the airflow control is on the device itself, not the atomizer. I think you can adjust the airflow a little bit with the addition and/or removal of the bottom o-ring. Otherwise, I would advise getting a Hippo. http://www.atmistique.gr/en/new-pro...page_images.tpl&product_id=391&category_id=98 http://shop.vaperev.com/hippo-v2-ss.html

Okay, I just found a video of Imeo making a coil on the new piece...not sure why I didn't think to search for the Ithaka upgrade core.
Anyhow, there's one spot that's a bit confusing. He takes 2 strands out of the wick, and he says 2mm wick. I'm a bit fuzzy on this part. Is it 2mm wick and he's thinning it, or is it 2.5-3mm that he's turning into 2mm wick?

Thank you Steliosss.

I've got a (mostly) working Penelope V3 now. I wrapped it while I was watching the video, still getting a dry hit now and again. So, couple more quick questions, if you don't mind.

Does the wick go down the channel all the way?
I've discovered that part of the problem is that I don't draw on it very hard, so I'm not really forcing the wick to wick, more hoping it'll wick by itself. It works on my Penelope V1, but the air flow is quite a bit smaller on the V1. On the V3 I get a lot of air. V3 feels almost like using a straw.

edit: Wrote coil instead of wick...oops.

Xaiver, this is where I am now. I'm on my first silica build in the V3. I used 0.25 Kanthal around 3mm wick, double on top. The wicks are about 3/4 down the channels, the juice control 5 or 6 full turns open. This setup works and tastes excellent - and that is really excellent - up to 10 Watts.
Above that it starts to dry out as the wicking can't keep up with 2 or 3 longer consecutive draws.

I'm sure there are silica builds too that can handle more than 10 Watts but I haven't found out how yet. BTW I have exactly the same on my V2. From 10 Watts on it's dry hits galore. It's a journey! :)
