She just sent me a sample of her new DK Ry4 (NOT THE ONE avail now). she has nailed the nutty tobacco flavor we have all been dying to diy ourselves. :toast:

*she should have it on her site today* I can't wait for recipes from vapers for tweaking some killer stuff

for many it would be the perfect Ry4 as it stands. Others... 555 or DK-Tab. The only way i can describe it is it has ALL the undertones of that DK tobacco base. spot on!

sick of the tobacco accord green stuff? don't need it anymore. This is the perfect base to build on, or stand alone. omg it's great and you guys know me - if something is crap, i'm not afraid to say it
wink.gif

now we can use her other flavors and dress it up/down how ever we want. It smells great. vapes stronger than it smells from the sample bottle i got. I told her to offer a 2nd one with double or extra flavor, by cutting the PG down 25%, for ppl that want to cut, mix, match with other juices, like it stronger.

You're going to love it. we could diy ourselves to death and never come up with it.

linda great job!

no it doesn't taste like DK-TAB, but it does have the undertones. You know how 555 is tobacco nutty, DK-TAB is like tobacco on steroids? it's more like 555 but has that main flavor of all 3. it's hard to describe. If i could think of what DK's tobacco base tastes like.... that they build all their flavors on, then this is it.

i would want to sweeten it up a tad without killing it for a rich Taboo'ish Ry4 and I plan to experiment. That's why i said i can't wait for recipes from all of us using it.

as it stands, it's pretty spot on for 555. It's potent on the atomizer so you'd have to use it like a DIY mixer. You don't have to be afraid of going heavier than some of her other flavors when mixing. When she offers an extra strength, you'll be in mixing heaven where a drop or two will do it.

no perfumey, stinky, not quite right stuff. this is perfect! I told her she'll be selling it by large bottles it's so good.

can't wait till you guys try it and dress it up. some like sweet, some like mild. i can think of every dk flavor i like and create it now by mix/matching her other flavors.

zelda i can't find a link for it either. i'm waiting to hear back from her. i'll post the link when i'm sure it's the right one.

i may have an empty bottle of DK-Tab here from Rob at GP that i ordered last Dec. I have a pretty good sniffer, and can maybe figure out what the additional flavors are.

i'm with you orion, that first ry4 was kind of perfumey and definitely nothing i'd want to vape. the DK-Ry4 is in a whole nother league. she may not even need to cut it. like i said it vapes stronger than it smells so cutting it would be no problem.

ok linda changed the name to DK Tobacco Base, so there is no mistaking this one from her other tobacco ones.

give it a try and report back. the only way linda can make us flavorings is feed back from us. lol she doesn't vape or smoke.

here's the new DK-tobacco base:

Perfumers Apprentice - DK Tobacco Base

somebody whip up a good sweet ry4 with it and i'll be in heaven. Ry4's have been slipping in the sweet dept that we all LOVE, so we need some good stuff ;)

Like many people, I'm trying to make RY4 (preferably similar to the taste of FSUSA's RY4, caramel, and nut mix mixed together), so I mixed some PA flavors the other day and the result was very good the first night, but the next night, it tasted sort of maplish and left a lingering smell of something like toasted or burnt something, possibly the smoky type of smell at a campfire or from a wood stove. The smell lingers for quite a while, too.

The flavors I mixed were roughly equal amounts of: Caramel, Caramel Candy, Caramel (Original), Bavarian Cream, English Toffee, RY4, Toasted Almond, and about half as much of French Vanilla and Pecan.

I've since placed an order at PA for 4 oz each of Bavarian Cream, English Toffee, RY4, and Toasted Almond and 16 oz of Caramel (Original). Does anyone know which of the flavor(s) listed in my 2nd paragaph would result in the burnt taste/smell and taste sort of like maple?

I do NOT like maple and need to eliminate whatever's causing the maple taste and the burning smell.

Thanks in advance!

I would also love to hear those great RY4 recipes come from the new DK Tobacco Base Flavor. I love the sweet RY4 flavors. I will have to get some of this soon and start mixing and see if there are any awesome recipes out there that y'all come up with. This is why I love this forum, we can all help eachother and tweek stuff :)

I received my PA order today (Bavarian Cream, English Toffee, RY4, Toasted Almond, and Caramel Original), and now that I have the larger 4 oz bottles (and 16 oz of Caramel Original), I can tell that the smoky flavor is in the Bavarian Cream. I'm really surprised and thought it would be the Toasted Almond. Don't really like any of the smells from any of the bottles, except for possibly the Caramel Original. I'm about ready to mix up some small samples for testing, but I doubt that I'll use any of these flavors, except for maybe the RY4 and Caramel Original.

Yesterday, I flushed out six new cartos that contained my first DIY mix of about equal parts of the five flavors (plus the other two Caramel flavors), plus about half as much of Pecan and French Vanilla Deluxe. This mixture had a maple taste and smelled way too smoky for me (and the smell lingers in the house). The good part is my best friend likes this mixture better than what we've been vaping from FSUSA (RY4, Caramel, Apple, and Nut Mix mixed together, which I love), so she can use the 120mL that I mixed up.

So I'm gonna start with mixing up a little of the RY4 flavor from PA without adding any of the other flavors. One step at a time...

I have a feeling I'll have to experiment with tobacco flavors to find the taste that I get from FSUSA's RY4, Caramel, and Nut Mix.

I just received my order from tpa and the flavors that I tried were all pretty bad =/ I ordered ry4 type, dk tab, caramel and some fruit flavors. My main goal was to make that ry4 we all love. Not even close with these. I started with 3ml batches and made ry4 type, ry4 type with caramel and dk tab, then I even added some to an ry4 24mg(myvaporstore) that I cut to 20mg and that actually made it worse! I prolly shouldnt even have done that but I didnt lose much flavor the first time and I was trying to save juice. But Im not feeling them at all. The fruit flavors all have a perfume overtones and all have slight variations with there intended flavors.

Dk Tobacco: Taste like rose flowers (as stated on site I should have listened)
Caramel: IDK has a buttery chemical taste
Ry4: Its a floral sweet vanilla finish
Mango: Floral floral floral (reminds me of perfume)
Blueberry: I did not try this
Honeysuckle: Perfume taste (was going for honeysuckle tobacco)
Honey: Floral again

I didnt want to follow what anyone was saying and try it out. Glad I didnt spend a whole lot but I dont understand why they manufacture perfumey flavors. I know they make perfume kits but how does that crossover to flavoring. Im so sad this didnt work for me... Hope you guys figure it out too bc its frustating and I actually have a bad taste in my mouth from these and am soaking attys in cola and then boiling my cartos I used with tpa flavors I mixed.

What percentage are you using of the Honeysuckle? It's very strong. That could be causing the chemical/perfumy taste. Same with the DK Tobacco. Very strong. I used a E Liquid calculator at 10% for my first batch of liquids.. and all were way too strong. I had to do all the TPA flavorings at 5% or lower. Personally, I like the Honeysuckle a lot. French Vanilla is ok, but again you have to watch how much you use. I found when I used too much F.V. it tasted buttery for some reason. The DK is ok. Not something I'd buy again. The Kona coffee was absolutely HORRIBLE. Tasted like a skunk's bottom.
