That's what I'm afraid of, not that 555 is bad and not that I won't like the PA stuff. I'm gonna be finding out in 2-3 days one way or the other. :)

Perfumer's Apprentice
DK tobacco Base
This is a very handy base that many people compare to 555.

This DK is very much like 555, a little strong @ 10%, and needs a little fine tuning. Not bad, not bad.
RY-4 @ 10% not the RY I'm used to, but it does have potential.

If you like tobacco flavors I would suggest trying FlavourArt,
1 drop to 10ml = strong flavor & lots of pontential

Yeah, I now have some FA Shade and Desert Ship and PA RY4 and DK base. I'm still waiting on some unflavored nic juice to come in, though, so I don't know. I put a couple of drops of RY4 and a drop of toasted marshmallow in some juice that was already Dekang RY4. It's not bad at all, but I want to try some things when my unflavored comes in. I had also doctored up some juice with some FA Shade and with some Desert Ship, but I may have gone a tad heavy on the FA. It seemed bitter. Just as an oddity, I also ordered some PA spearmint since I absolutely love spearmint. Although I use tobacco nic liquids 99% of the time, I still wanted to try some spearmint. I don't know if I'll like vaping it or not.

Adding mint worked for me too, there was some Desert Ship liquid that had a musty aroma and a touch of peppermint cleaned it up enough to be enjoyable.

I would like to find a recipe for Wrigley's Spearmint gum flavor. The spearmint part is obvious, but how to get the "gum" taste?

I had some Ecopure juice once that tasted a lot like Juicy Fruit gum that had most of the fruit flavor used up, and I kinda liked it. Couldn't get the same flavor when I reordered later so I think that batch had something different about it.

I'm so bummed out. I ordered 3 small bottles of flavors last week, cappuccino, green apple and mountain dew. All 3 were fantastic and I mixed up a big batch of cappuccino and am loving it. I made a small bottle of Mountain dew flavor and vaped that all day Saturday. It was wonderful.

So I placed a large order on Friday and got it last night. I ordered the DK tobacco base for my husband and gagged when I opened it. Mixed it very low and nope, can't do it. No problem, just one flavor, I could live with that.

Well, no. I've been playing with them but they're all way too perfumey-flowery Is this normal or did I get a bad bunch? I played with mixing flavors at a very low <5% in a plain PG base and it's just not working for me. None really smell or taste right at all. I mixed some double-chocolate, about 2 very, very small drops, into a 3ml bottle with my base nic mixture and let it sit overnight with the cap on, hoping for the best. Nope, it is just like vaping roses and gardenias with a very slight aftertaste of chocolate. Am I just overly sensitive or what? Every flavor I ordered this time smells and tastes this way. I tried each one this morning in a very small concentration with PG and VG and all of them are giving me this flowery taste. I gave up. I cleaned my atomizer, filled a new cart with my capuccino and I can STILL taste the flowery-ness.

I so wanted to play with the waffle flavor that everyone seems to like and it's the worst one, aside from the two chocolates I got and the vanilla ice cream. :( Very flower-perfumey. The raspberry smells and tastes like an old lady drenched in Avon perfume.

I was getting very excited about mixing a bunch of flavors up to see if they age better but now, I am just so bummed out. Nicotine mix is very expensive and I wasted quite a bit yesterday with the DK tobacco flavor trying to get it to taste better with no luck at all. Today, it's even stronger. I only put about 4 drops of the little dropper that comes with it into 15ml of unflavored mix.

Should I maybe leave the covers off the flavor bottles for a while? They are very fragrant and would make nice candles LOL

I'm curious to see the response to this because some of the flavors that I have are the same way. They taste/smell nothing like the flavor they are supposed to be. I just get a very flowery/perfumey taste.

Don't really know what's going on. Never had an issue like that with my orders from TPA.

Did have an issue with FA flavors through 2 US vendors, 2 different flavors-1 from each, that didn't look right or smell right. I mixed them no-nic to test and glad I did. Much less troublesome to toss no-nic batches. Those vendors did make things right.

So, if everything your last order smells and tastes the same, be sure to let your vendor know. Most of the time they are willing to help out.

(There is only 1 ECF registered vendor that I will no longer buy from, but they don't handle the flavorings you're having trouble with. At least they didn't when they took my money.)

I mixed about 7 different flavors up and will let them steep. I spilled the raspberry (whoo!) earlier and I can still faintly smell it on my hands and it is very heavenly smelling, so I think my concentrations just need to be very small. I made up 3ml bottles and only used 1-2 small drops in each. They smell much better and I tasted each one with a very small drop on my tongue and they do show promise to be very good juices. I might just be very, very sensitive to the concentrated odors, so much that it's overwhelming my tastebuds. :) I think they'll end up being okay.

ETA: btw, be VERY careful when working with these liquids. The raspberry I spilled--there was some on the bottle that dripped down the side and ate a round spot through the finish in my brand-new kitchen table. Through the paper towel I sat it on. It sat there less than 5 minutes. I imagine it was the alcohol base? I hope.

ETA a few hours later: Okay...well, I'm using my blueberry cheesecake that I mixed and let sit and I was right, it is fantastic! I guess that was the key, just using a very small percent and then let them sit and mix for a little bit. I also added just a drop of sweetener and that made a big difference. No flowery or intense perfume scent anymore and a very sweet, creamy taste. I'm now a very happy camper! Onto my white chocolate cherry...mmmmm!

I just wanted to drop in and say that Linda's (NEW) eggnog is AMAZING! It actually reminds me of the holidays :)...I never tried the original but as good as the new one is I am sure I'm not missing anything :). She also sent me samples of pumpkin spice, pistachio and cherry blossom. They are all great and all are flavorful and yummy except the cherry blossom it is very yummy but it's on the weak side. I got those along with my order of Dulce De leche (haven't tried yet), Hickory smoke which is AWESOME with a tobacco flavoring, Toasted Almond this one gives my tobacco mix a wonderful flavor when I added it to it. I also got the rebel sample pack which I have not tried yet. MAYBE tomorrow when I can stop vaping my tobacco mix with the hickory and toasted almond I can mix some of them up but that is a BIG IF though because I just can't put this stuff down!!!

Thank you and now I can't wait to try Graham Cracker:) I just ordered 15 flavors and can't wait to get them all:)

I think you'll love it. I bought myself a huge bottle of the Graham Cracker and another not quite as huge bottle of the Waffle, and I mix them for my every day vaping. Now I have to hurry up and order the Black Sesame Seed and the Hickory because they both sound phenomenal. :w00t:

Great thread!! I ordered some tobacco flavors and have been very pleased. Linda is helpful and my order was delivered sooo quickly. I think she has a new customer. especially after bad dealings with others who accuse me of trying to copy their flavors...haha,,,, newbie here. Can barely find the paper sack much less a way out!!

Very nice thread here. An interesting look at the history and growth of PA flavorings. I even read all 60 pages. Great info here.

Best line in the thread goes to Nikhil.

Most people can't tell the difference, you just don't see black sesame seeds in America either because white ones look better on burger buns or McDonald's is racist.

That is some funny stuff.

Bumping this one back to the top.
