The flavours need about 12 hrs or so to completely become suspended in the base. When you are mixing (developing recipes) you are not getting the full flavour of the juice as there is hot spots in the mix. Maybe it's 4 hrs, who cares, to me it's a moot point. I go back to it the next day for various reasons:Oh, BTW, since GoodDog mentioned letting a juice sit. Does that mean actually sit still the whole time or do you move the bottle around vs shake, to keep the stuff mixed?
Thanks

- while testing your taste buds are saturated IMO, with whatever (the whatever is insignificant) IMHO;
- the flavours haven't fully blended;
- your brain isn't clogged or biased; and
- not only have you got a fresher perspective, the juice had time to blend thoroughly.
There is nothing wrong with shking the bottle occasionally whatever. I always shake before using a bottle anyway.
When I am at the final stages of "tuning a recipe" I will often go days without touching it, before making the final adjustments. I've been playing around for 3 weeks with a Cuban Cigar blend.
