I was going back over the earlier posts in this thread, and now that I've been doing this for a bit over a month, I can soooooo relate to this one, and not just for video reviews, either -- the point of a review is to tell OTHERS what it tastes like, NOT how much you like or hate it. That bugs the very living spit out of me, "this is nasty". Period. No reason why it's nasty, or what it's like. Or the reverse, "oooh I love this!!!" But, WHY do you love it??? I read or watch reviews to learn about the subject of the review, NOT the subjective tastes of the reviewers!

Along the same lines are the reviews, either video or written, in which the reviewed e-liquid is compared to other liquids which the reader/viewer may or may not have tasted. Granted, it's difficult to describe tastes and smells with mere words, but TRY. Comparing something to something else is ONLY useful if the viewer/reader is familiar with those other flavors, and assuming the viewer/reader has tried every one that the reviewer has is just plain arrogant, and not helpful in the least.

I love facts and numbers; I'm a geek that way. I agree with what you're saying, wholeheartedly. I understand that what someone tastes can be different than the next person, but I still want to know WHAT you're tasting that makes it good/bad.

There are really just one or two Youtube talking heads that I listen to when they're doing juice reviews. I may not agree with their opinions, but at least I'm getting the information I want to make my own decision.

Another Pet Peeve: When a new member is just breaking away from the new member forum and dares to make an opinion on a topic and someone jumps on him/her! That just ticks me off! Especially if the opinion was asked for by the OP and it's a legitimate, sincere opinion. GGRRRR!View attachment 314307

Lol. Yeah, I've seen that. Some people take opinions way too personally.

Its not really a pet peeve nor even vaping related but I'm going to vent here anyways. I HATE the coffee machine in this house, i don't drink coffee but everybody else does and every time somebody wants a cup, which is a lot, it makes this godawful LOUD grinding noise. I've been contemplating on how to destroy it without taking the blame for a while and I'm really warming up to setting the house on fire.

Not that I've ever done this, but:

1. Unplug the coffee maker
2. Take off any screw-on cover
3. Pick one (or more) wire(s).
4. Cut the above wires, and insulate both cut ends with electrical tape.
5. Play dumb when questioned.

Exactly; if you say, it's too sweet, I don't like it, or, it's smokey, or whatever... or even compare it to a *common* taste -- NOT some other ejuice, but something that many if not most people would have tasted -- then I have some basis to make up my own mind. But these idjits that just post that "this is nasty" or "this is awesome" nonsense -- HOW is that helpful to others?!?!?!

I found my favorite e-juice, the one I was complaining about up there, because so many of the reviews compared it to the taste of Virginia Slims -- THAT is exactly what I was looking for! I don't make the mistake of taking one reviewer's word for it, but if quite a few people say roughly the same thing, then I figure it's a viable opinion. I think this is a mistake that a lot of people make, when they say, oh you can't go by reviews -- no, you can't go by one or two reviews -- there are always going to be malcontents who bash everything, and the opposite, those with a vested interest posting positive reviews -- but if you analyze ALL the reviews statistically, you can arrive at some kind of informed idea. It's hard to fool ALL the people, ALL the time. :)

ROFLMAO!!!

I'd go with the "get a new coffeemaker" idea I think, but this time, get one that DOESN'T grind the beans. It's not that difficult to find ground coffee. :D Those who insist on grinding their own... that's just silly. Do they buy a papermill so they can construct their own envelopes?

Coffee snobs, go figger! :D

Another pet peeve. You've bought a 15 ml bottle of juice at your local B&M that you've really come to love. You return and buy a 30 ml bottle of the same only to find that it's drastically changed from what was you bought before.

Worse yet, no one can tell you what's different and somehow it become YOUR fault.

Hah! Double Hah! I had a liquid I really liked. When it ran low, I asked for more. Sure, but they can't make it in 70% pg and 3.6 nicotine. Can't be done. Oh really? That's exactly what I had the last time. Now, I can understand how a combination would be impossible if the flavor were carried in pure vg, but they lied that day, or they lied with the original order.

This was not my local vape shop, by the way.

Speaking of scissors... If you are rebuilding, especially on YouTube...get a GOOD pair!!! You paid $100 for that ONE Rba, drop $20 on good scissors so you don't spend 20 seconds trying to saw through a cotton ball!

Lol.

And this isn't really a pet peeve, and I'm probably going to alienate apparently 70% of the vaping community, but every time I see someone clip a wire with a pair of nail clippers, I just want to get their address so I can send them some flush wire cutters...

I applaud you and others that make use of perfectly good tool that performs well beyond what it was intended and it's cheap as chips!

Now If I can find other items such as mech mods in the price range? Can I dream?

Cheers

I have a new vaping pet peeve, and I bet you can all relate to this, too. I am just *SICK* of "well now that you've quit smoking, when are you going to quit vaping?"

AAAUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHH!

Try 15 minutes after NEVER, you nosey busybody! It's like swapping hard drugs for bubble gum! And I like it! And if you really hate to see someone doing something they enjoy... CLOSE YOUR DAMN EYES!!!!

Hi. You have hit on something that has been bothering me and I have not been able to find an answer for it. You mention juices that are designed to be vaped on a sub ohm coil. How do you know that. I have not seen any vendors specify that on the websites I have been on. I know you are right about different juices being designed for different vaping devices. How do you know which juice is for that purpose? Thanks for your answer.

My biggest pet peeve is when a reviewer looks at a product negatively because it's performing poorly when they are using it incorrectly.

Example

Reviewer: "This atty leaks a lot"
No, your wicks suck and you're over dripping.

Reviewer: "This juice has a weak flavor"
Yeah, it's mean't to be vaped in a sub-ohm setup, not a 2 ohm coil at 9 watts.... (I'm not bashing vaping above 1 Ohm, just pointing out that some juices are designed to be vaped with the higher wattage you get with sub-ohm coils)

Back in the Day (Yeah... I know I'm gonna Sound Old Gum-Nab-It) the Wasn't any Sub Ohms or RBA's. There was Only Atomizers/Carts that Came in LR (Low Resistance), Normal or HR (High Resistance).

This same thing would come up. Which e-Liquid Does and Doesn't Taste go with a LR Atty?

I came up with a Coil Graphical Rating for e-Liquids.

1 Coil for LR.

2 Coils for Normal Resistance.

And 3 Coils for HR.

(We didn't have a Lot to do back then because not much had been Invented yet.)

Maybe e-Liquid Retails could do a Modern Version of 1 Loop for .5 ~. 7 ohm, 2 Loops for .7~1.0 ohm, etc.

I don't Really Care how the Scale is Put Together. Or What e-Liquid get What Rating. Just as Long as I get some of the Proceeds for the Idea.

Because a Major Pet Peeve of mine is Coming Up with Great Ideas, but Never getting any Money from Them.

when I was shopping at a local vape shop the worker there was talking down all the simple starter kit and kept trying to sell the expensive mech mods and dripper atty. what a way to scare people off from starting.. everyone moves at their own pace and they should choose to upgrade when they want.

:thumb: I completely agree with you. I started with an eRoll because I WANTED a cigalike, for the familiarity. I seldom use it anymore, but it got me to quit smoking, so IT HAS VALUE!!! It was just what I needed, to start.
