It's interesting looking at MSDS's. I had them for all the chemicals at work and access to many more. There's nothing safe. The FDA will find something it does to 3 persons out of 100,000 and list it. Check out aspirin and ibuprofen for a serious scare.

"Ask your doctor about propylene glycol. Do not use if you have any of the following reactions .... other side effects may be encountered ... If you are still alive after a year of use, ask your doctor why that is ... you may be encountering unknown side effects that you are unable to sense."

That's a joke, BTW. I don't want to start any rumors on ECF ...

Check out the MSDS for any PG next.

Then grab a vanilla MSDS.

Those two are fun.

Then drink a Coke and check out the MSDS for the phosphoric acid listed in its ingredients.

You'll love those much better, then tell us what you found?

(For those that understand MSDS's, I look at this as a teaching opportunity as to what they are and are not for those that may be confused.)

I'm already trying to cut PG out...of everything. Don't drink much soda anymore either. It's kind of funny that Vanilla may be irritating to your eyes (I mean, really?) but it seems relatively tame in comparison.

Yep, it's labeled for animal use, so it says that. If it was labeled for soap making, the label would say it's for making soap. Even if the PG was made in the exact same place. The USP standard is a pharmaceutical standard. We have some weird labeling laws and company that don't want to run afoul of them put all kinds of things on them to keep their rumps covered. (for extra weirdness there are metals that are listed as "not for use in aerospace craft" that are used in most jet engines and all rocket engines, but go through a secondary market basically untouched except markups over what they'd pay going straight to Haynes for the metal.

I've gone through a few gallons of the TS PG and I like it. TS PG is used by dairy farmers, and they tend to be folks that are pickier about what goes into those cows than what goes into themselves.

I just purchased the NOW brand of VG from my local natural foods store and it seems to be pretty decent. I had some liquid from a supplier that had too much flavoring in it (my fault...I had asked for an extra flavor shot), and I'm trying to dilute it with the VG. It's pretty thick stuff, but so far I'm pretty happy with it. I dripped a few drops on an atty and it has a nice, subtle sweetness. The texture of the vapor it produces is nice. Fluffy smoothness.

I did order some ECOmix from Intellicig just because I don't want to have to thin out my VG quite yet. I'm just starting to DIY so I'd like to slowly figure it out.

Tomorrow I plan on ordering some FlavourArt flavorings.

Thanks for your post. I've been vaping exclusively unflavored almost from the start, and using whatever my ecig supplier sends me. Since you've postd this I think I'm going to order some NOW from Amazon, I quite like this vanilly taste.

Doing some research here, some are saying that it is far superior to Humco from Wally World.

---Just went to the Ecopure site, it looks like the MIX is just plain vg??

I haven't tried Humco's stuff...from the sound of it, it's chemical-tasting. Not my thing. I've been using NOW's supplements and essential oils for several years and I'm very, very happy with them. In fact, one of my close friends became a NOW distributor because she has had such good experiences with their products and the company.

As for ECOpure, the Mix is VG that has been thinned. I'm assuming that they thin it with some sort of alcohol. This is something we can do ourselves with good vodka or Everclear, but I'd rather not. I do use vodka to clean my attys and cartos, but I haven't attempted to thin any juice with it. It's not that there's any real danger to it, I just don't want to ruin any batches of liquid.

I can't taste the difference between NOW and Humco - and I'm not sure there *is* a difference :)

I dont know if I and another friend vapor got bad pg or what. We bought at different times and we are 1000 miles apart. His juice is bad as mine is. The vendor replaced and still bad. Our mixes are perfume tasting and smelling and taste like dirty socks. I switched to tractor supply usp pg juice and everything is fine now. He switched to rts and his mixes are fine now. This vendor says they have tested their pg and it is fine. They just replaced this week and that pg is no good either.

So all pg is not the same ?

And I am that friend.. It's true..PG has different tastes..The bad PG was a very acidic taste at the beginning, with hardly any sweetness to it. Then you get a foul taste like you would smell dirty laundry. The taste lasts for a long time... I thought it was my carto polyfill, until i tasted my juice. Sure enough it was the juice, then Rick told me his juice was terrible. I asked, where did you get the PG? He had bought at the same place.. That's how we found the problem.. My suggestion is to buy a small bottle first. Then taste it.. It should be sweet with a slight chemical taste..PG will never taste great, But should be tolerable...
