I have small manual milling machine nothing fancy to make mostly simple bike parts and it costs me about 200 bucks in cutting tools a year. SS cutting tools cost big bucks and I have friend who has a real CNC machining shop and the fuses for those machines cost 50-100 bucks a piece. He was complaining one day about a faulty machine that was blowing fuses all the time until they could find out what was wrong with it.
I used to do maintenance for a company that produced pipe flow gauges. The machine shop in the R&D department had at easily $200,000 in machines with no CNC (1990ish). All they worked with was steel, aluminum and brass.
I had a lot of clones from fasttech. I sold them all for a couple high end mods. The only clone i kept from fasttech was the BRASS m16. It works great, and preforms great.
I have no problem buying a high end mod for 150 - 200 dollars. Just got my copper pegasus in the mail today. Its flawless in quality of machining. Well worth the 180 dollar price tag. Its limited edition and I could easily sell for double the price to a mod collector in a year of so. So what is wrong with buying high end mods?
The aluminum Sentinel is actually a pretty good mod. It hits like a freight train. The threads are soft though, so you have to marry an atomizer to it and not take it off... Ever. It's still a hard hitting mod for $11. Hard to beat.
I didn't feel bad dropping my turtleship on it's switch getting out of truck last night...I also didn't pay $180 for it.lol
Serious question... not facetious... which mods from a year or two ago are currently selling for double the original price? Have original Caravelas doubled?
