I'm no kid, I don't threaten ppl on the internet because it would be a false threat and pointless, that's what kids do. If I threaten someone I back it up.

I didn't want to insult anybody ......ed I wanted to insult you. You are right, calling you a ...... and stupid is an insult to ......ed people.

Threatening ppl on the internet is a keyboard warrior but you are too dumb to know that.

You posts are fairly childish for a grown-up, much as the persons post's whom you stooped to such levels to insult. You can keep throwing the internet meme tough kid stuff around all you want. It does nothing but show your ignorance.
Some of your points were valid and yet lost somehow in the ranting.

Things cost what they cost, this much is true. Some of these mods are works of art with a lot of thought and creativity poured in to them. They are worth 2, 3 and 4 hundred dollars, to me. Some of these 200$ things are tubes with threads.

LOL

Buy what you can afford. It's like people buying a fake Rolex, if that's what you can swing then by all means do it. But there are others like myself who just aren't into that. I would never use/own a clone because I can afford the real deal and appreciate having the real deal and the exclusivity. Also by the way it looks, if you buy the real deal you can most likely sell it for the same price you got it for or a little less so why not!

I have ventured in both. The real deal, and clones. Out of all of them, my Cronus original is my favorite. The quality of the metal, and workmanship is supierior. I also have a original SS Nzonic that's a total failure because of the continuity. My copper Caravela, Private V2 clones hit just as good as my Cronus. But of course they were mass produced, and you can feel and see the difference. In the end it's all about the vape. I get plenty of clouds on all of them, because of how it's built. It's all about choice. It's none of my business if a grown man wants to own a 200 or 50 dollar mech. Just enjoy them gentlemen :)

I just bought a real M16. Now, after reading so much about how the brass clones are better, i'm a lil. worried.

So guys with the real Sentinel M16, hows your experience been so far? I ask this because most of the discussion on the forums and net is around the M16 clones.

I own a few clones and some originals. Here is where I draw the line on these things.

There are mods that are threaded tubes and a switch. In almost every case on these the bulk of clones are just as good and in some cases better. The Sentinel M16 is a prime example of this. My 23$ M16 Clone hits just as hard as my friends 190$ original. In fact all the parts from mine and his interchange only mine has no markings other than "Sentinel M16". At the end of the day it is all about how you want to spend your money. I bought my 23$ M16 clone for one reason. I do not feel bad at all about knocking it around in an industrial environment at work. When comparing the cost of something like an M16 to some of the higher end mods you can see the differences in intent.
When I bought my M16 I had no idea I could get a genuine simple mechanical device for under 100$ that works just as well. I have that for when the M16 dies. :)
You can get a genuine highend with readily available parts for servicing shipped to your door for less than the asking price for a simple "cash-crop" item like the M16.

Some of these mods are works of art that embody craftsmanship, innovation and engineering. They are well worth the price paid for them. A lot of these will be in affordable price ranges considering the quality in manufacturing.

Some of these mods are threaded tubes built to cash in on a market trend. They are typically not in my opinion worth the cost.

My few pennies on it, again :)

Money spent in support of innovation furthers innovation. Money spent on profiteering...

For me now the best thing about clones is that it causes the innovators to abandon a product line for something newer, shinier and better on a faster cycle. There is always something to shiny to buy :)

I got a hold of an xxix copper mod. My search for a high end mod has come to a close. Its made in the USA. I love it. If something goes wrong ill just get a hold of bay city vapor and they'll fix it right up. If something goes wrong with my Omega loki labs has amazing customer service and they will get me fixed up. They are a USA company too. Im not saying that only USA companies have good customer service but sometimes with the Philippines mods you have a language barrier and also would cost the company a lot of money to ship you replacement parts. In "my" experience I haven't had luck with mods from the Philippines. I like the straight 1 piece tube mods anyways.

and my search1 1/2 years later led me to the same conclusion...read the reviews and buy an american made quality mod if you are planning on vaping for more than 6 months...although i do love the look and performance of my vanilla mod i am very much looking forward to the delivery of my BFM by bay city. once again...the straight tube U.S. mods are heads above the rest as usable pieces..

JMO ...but i think you will find the same after you have been through 20 mods....

I own a Sentinel M16 clone that I paid $25 for. I have a friend who has an authentic one. As far as looks, the only difference is that his has the Grand Vapor logo on the center tube, which my clone does not. Also the Sentinel M16 logo on the bottom tube, the M16 lettering is slightly different on the clone. Those are just physical apperances. Now performance wise - they both performed the same. Voltage drop was the same, and they both hit hard. He almost regretted spending the money on a genuine one when he discovered that my $25 clone performs just as well.

Well I have to say this is the dumbest thread I have seen on this forum. Everyone trying to justify their own purchases while bashing the decisions of others. Let it go guys and gals. We all purchase what we think will give us the most enjoyment given our respective budgets. Absolutely nothing wrong with buying originals or with buying clones. I know people who save up to buy high price items, cars, appliances and mods and others who can afford to buy high end equipment who buy lower priced stuff. Nothing wrong with either decision.

hey im pandering whether i should buy the clone sentinel or the genuine sentinel. Whats the difference?

You asked if Philippines mods where worth it. I have one Philippine made Tahiti by GP. Its a wonderful mod, good quality , looks excellent and liking it more and more the more I use it. BTW I have a authentic Chi You along with 2 GUS mods so I know what a quality is. I have one Chi You clone and its a mess , total mess I have no idea who built it but the firing button have always be wonky and I don't use it except when trying to make it work ;-). Still regret buying it , bought it from Ebay. Will be very carefull buying clones after this experience. But I guess there are good clones and bad clones.

Not all mods are made equally.
Clones or originals.

There are more than a few original mechs that just work piss poor. Lousy battery mechanism, high voltage drop etc etc.

There are plenty of clones that work just as well it not better than the originals.

I have seen ChiYou clones that only look like ChiYous from 10 feet away and hit as hard as disposable cigalike. I have seen some that are nearly indistinguishable from the original and have zero discernible difference in function.

So what do you get with an original?

Well if its a good design to begin with you get quality of function, but again that is not hard to get in a clone (hCigar tends to make very nice clones)

You get bragging rights, which only works on fellow vape nerds and random people on this forum (and if you cant tell, half of us wont care)

The biggest one for me (esp for a Pinoy mod) is you get a collectible. If you can simply appreciate the mod for what it is, then that should be good enough.

But a 200 dollar status symbol? .....
Who are you going to impress? Teenagers?

Look for The Chimera, which should be hitting US retail in the next month or so.

THAT is a real Pinoy mod

I lived in the Philippines for 5 years (2006 - 2011) ... The average Filipino factory worker in the Manila area makes about 250 Pesos ($5.70) per day.

These Filipino companies are making a KILLING on these mods from the Philippines you folks are buying!

not all Pinoy mods are mass produced

That doesn't mean the labor is more expensive.

1 or 2 or 4 guys machining mods by hand takes time. C110 is not cheap. Stirling Silver isn't free. The machines you need to lathe and fabricate parts are certainly not cheap. Time spent designing is not inconsequential. Generally engraving and any non-metal ascpect is done by a third party. And even disregarding initial capital outlays for hardware, and just taking into account the cost of materuals fo the mods, a nice mod selling for $180 is netting the modder maybe $35/hr. Maybe.... if he can get the system down to where each mod is taking a little over/under 3hrs to produce.

Some mods are made by independent artisans.

Yes, if you are serious about your vaping and pushing clouds. Some of the best mods come out of the Philippines, MCV, J2P, Grand Vapor and Smok-E Mountain to name a few. Quality of craftsmanship is second to none, except say Cartel, Surefire or Olympus Creations. I am US partial, although Philippines would be second. I have a number of very good pieces in my collection from there. Overdose by MCV, Pieces T by J2P and SS Private V2 by GV. One and all are excellent mods in quality department, Overdose is a copper cloud machine period, a beast! Although, I love my US mods. I would suggest getting one of the few, most likely pre-order for the likes of Cartel or Olympus Creations. There is nothing like a quality US mod like V1 Brass, Dusted King or the all mighty Pegasus. The vape just tastes a little sweeter in American metal, IMO.
