Ok. U wick complete. First impressions? Not sure it's worth the extra hassle. Flavor, vapor and TH are great. Im trying to gauge if its better and how much.

Of course being longer, it's more of a pain to roll. This one took me about a half hour to complete....maybe longer. Much longer than a standard wick.

Yes, that's 28g wire and its 0.9 ohms. Simply oxidized, not quenched. I don't normally quench.

Looks good yankee. No kicks and nice and smooth. Have you tried it yet?

Nice smooth bend, yankee. Impressive Indeed. :smokie:

Thank you. Torched the mesh, rolled it, bent it, torched the bend to help stabilize it. Then torched the whole thing. I'm running dangerously low on 30g. Maybe 2 setups left so yesterday I ordered more 30. The 28 is nice. Slightly more of a pain to wrap of course. More like wrap, thread the wick, repeat, etc.

I thought about trying the dual wicks for my own curiosity. But I'll wait and see if I can get my hands on a second cobra first. I imagine vapor won't improve, maybe even diminish some, and TH will turn much harsher. And that's not something I want with a peppermint chocolate.

Hmm for some reason I don't get good vapor production on my cobra kinda frustrated.. Using 400mesh w/ 30g kanthal wrapped 5/6... Produces massive vapor when cap is off then when I vape it I get minimal vapor and epic throat hit.. The type that kicks in the back of the head... Kinda frustrated as I've tried different wraps to no avail.. Ugh

Looks good Yankee...my only suggestion is to have the bend closer to the top coil. With the arch so far above the coil, you probably aren't getting the full advantage if dual wicking. :)

Yeah I kept trimming and trimming. I will pull it either later tonight or tomorrow and trim some more. And it was a slight challenge getting through what to expect. But I was thinking there's a lot of distance there. I'll certainly need to try more.

Are you able to spin the wick inside of the coil, and raise it up or down?

How tight is the wick in the hole?

If the coils are too tight, or the wick is scraping the sides of the hole, it could be grounding out, and giving a harsh hit & taste.

Yes and yes. Thanks for getting back to me btw.. This is frustrating and confusing!

Great prizes...what is the contest?

I think the first contest will be simply "Tell us a joke" They say laughter is wonderful for healing so I am hoping it will speed up my recovery which seems to be moving slower then a snails space. I mean heck it has been over two months and my incisions aren't even completely healed yet. At least my incisions are coming along faster then my tissue though. The contests will winners will be chosen by random draw. I am thinking 2 to 5 entries per day. If we see a joke (or riddle) that is particularly funny and stands out above the rest it will be rewarded with a coupon! And anything goes as the submissions will be submitted through the website dirty jokes or words not allowed here are fine!

As for the second contest, not 100% sure yet, I have some ideas, but if anyone wants to throw out other ideas feel free!

I hope you will be making a bunch of coils for me before you tear down your tent and go home!

I have heard else where that the dual coil setup is very harsh. But I found the single coil setup to be harsh on both the cobra and the DID.

I still don't understand that one. What you are describing to me indicates a micro hot spot. You have a provari.....how is it when you turn it down? And depending on the wick, you may have to tip more. But that can be discussed when you have your cobra setup.
