I was having an issue with getting my top screw to grab when running 28AWG Kanthal wire it just wouldn't grab because of the thickness of the 28awg wire. I found that if you wrap your wire around the screw twice the nut then grabs and you can snug the top nut. This 28awg Kanthal/500 SS Mesh combo turns these Cobra's into some serious Monster Genesis units, I'm running 8-9 coils on my set up, you can go less to 5 but I find better flavor with the 8-9 coils and a smoother vape. I would like to see that top nut modified just a bit making it so you didnt have to double your wire around the screw when using 28awg wire though, or just an optional regular SS or TI top nut, this would be a good Opt for these, gonna try to find one at the hardware store, come to think of it the SS screws from another Genesis unit I have extras of should fit, gonna have to try those. If you haven't tried the 28awg kanthal/500 SS Mesh yet on these Cobra's I highly recommend give it a go.

Personally I would love to see a change to the whole top screw system. Change the top nut to 2 separate nuts, and add 3-4mm of length to the screw. Then you could wrap higher and take advantage of the wick better.
I had an idea to remove the top nut and use a couple nuts. But then I realized quickly that the top nut is really like a cap. The nut is where the height really is. There isn't a lot of room on the screw

Just got my Cobra :) Man, that is a really tight draw. Anyone drill their air hole out yet?

It's really tight compared to other gennies. But, if you haven't vaped another gennie, it doesn't seem so tight. I thought about busting out a way to drill, but actually got used to it with the right juice. It's actually pretty pleasing for that nice dessert juice. For me, I've got some DIY peppermint chocolate that that sort of tastes like a chocolate covered altoid.
But, being titanium, if you venture down this path, be careful

Please do explain

Titanium is what they make drill bits out of (among many other things) because it's so hard. I have been using tools for 20 yrs, and I wouldn't go anywhere near my Cobra cap with a drill. Maybe a jeweler, or someplace like that.

Funny I had a laundry list full of issues with my Cobra, but being tight was not on the list. It tastes burnt, it was extremely harsh, so much so it was unusable but the draw was very nice! I am sure my issues were the inability to make a proper wick and not the cobras fault and the lack of time to play with it. I will play with it when I have some time and get it right, but that will likely be after radiation. I also have no clue if the draw has anything to do with how you make your wick. If it does I guess we got that part right.

The draw will be the same no matter how you make you wick but the draw could be different on a different mod. I only have 1 cheapo genesis so I could be wrong but I've noticed this with carto tanks. I've made a gazillion wicks for my cheapo and the draw remained the same. BTW, I'm having better luck with wicking with the 500 mesh. Only problem now is that it starts losing flavor after about an hour. :(

Have had my Cobra for a week and finally got my frosted purple dragon tank today. I ordered the atty first to make sure I would get it before they sold out then ordered the tank after. Sandy delayed my tank. I have to say I like this think even more now. The custom tank looks very very cool on there.

My only issue with the Cobra is the top cap is an incredibly tight fit (5ml version). I really struggle to get it back on. I'm afraid I'm damaging one of the o-rings every time I put it on, it's that tight. It takes a hell of a lot of force to get on there. Anyone else having the same issue?
