Thanks Yankee!! That was my thought when I saw the bubling, so I'gonna pinch the top and see what happens. As for harsh taste, not really, burning, not really, but my 901 does taste better!!

Pinch it. Don't CLOSE it. If it still floods, pinch some more. But take a few vapes in between because as you know, one vape post adjustment won't vape off what's there instantly. :)

Awhh, the joy's!! Closed it of just a tad, and now it developed a hotspot I just can't get rid of:laugh:

Well...you know..... :D
Fire, and slightly adjust the coils while firing. You'll get that easy. Another option.....slightly twist/rotate the wick in the coils. It may just need that. But you'll get that. :)

An adjustment of +/-.1 maybe, as it breaks in. But if your shifting too bad, no. It shouldn't. I'd check the wrap for space, check for even coils. Rewrap it if needed. Your should ever so slightly disturb the coils when removing the wick. If it comes out and coils don't budge at all, it's definitely too loose. Your should more feel a slight resistance to removal or have to gently twist slight to remove.

My coils actually pretty tight as the wick wont budge at all. I think I will be wrapping a new coil. I chain vape so the ohms before first puff would be 1.7, then I would take a puff and check ohms and I will see 1.6, then another puff and check 1.5, etc. Then when it cools down it will be right back at 1.7.

You just have to pull very hard with a twisting motion. That`s wht i did and it came out, it is very snug so you need some hard pull

Hmmmmm, hard pull it is, but with gentle love haha. Kinda figured it would be snug. The cap fits like a glove so not surprised about the tank. Will have to take a look and figure out which o rings to use that came with the cobra.

There should be some thinner o-rings for use with the cobalt tank. Make sure you use them. I didn't, because I thought they felt loose...big mistake. I had a heck of a time getting the cobalt tank off later on. The clear tank will come off with some firm but gentle maneuvering. :)

Thanks. I know they sent other orings with the cobra to, looked like more then just two will have to look again.

Also wanted to say great video on the cobra, have the link saved for future reference/review again for down the road. Still loving the light torched wick to.

Question...
AG, I watched the Cobra vid and the DID vid and noticed you don't torch/heat the kanthal prior to wrapping.
Is there a reason you don't. I've read that torching prior to wrapping takes the "springy" effect from the wire.
Do you not torch as to allow the mesh to slide within the coil?

Nice videos BTW!!

Just recoiled it and she's purrin steady @ 2.3, no more drop in ohms after each hit.

30 gauge 8/9 wrap. Loving all the vapor I get from this compared to my 6 wraps.

Ill let AG confirm all of his reasons for this, but ill interject my interpretations.
The "springy" coil almost self adjusts to not be too tight allowing the coils to "float" on the wicks surface. So you wrap it normal, set it in, and as you go to connect the two ends, that springy recoil setlles it in the ideal spot. Almost hover just above. Now it vaporizes juice. I modified my coiling of the cobra to follow AG's approach and it vapes even better this way. It's almost as if you torched the wire, and wrapped in on cigarette paper on the wick and removed the paper before even firing it. It creates that "space" between the wick and coil. And ease for adjusting hotspots? Wow. You get a hotspot, and tweak it easier than ever.

Anybody round here see the whats going on with Pyrex and SS wicks? Good stuff!!

I subscribed to that thread as I saw a link elsewhere. Off the cuff, I'm not sold. Course, I haven't read so my opinion is just from the knowledge of airflow. The whole point is to pass the air over the coils that's why adjusting the location of said air hole becomes more important. Miss threaded caps hinder this. Cobra allows easy adjustment as cap is not threaded.

Add to that the heat up time. Heating Pyrex to even get to the wick?

With that said, I may have a different opinion after this weekend. I won't be a le to do a lot of reading of a full thread until this weekend.
