Random post, but been meaning to take pics of the Cobras for some time. The pic isn't the best, just a quick shot in front of my laptop with the phone, but it will do for now.

Finally rebuilt one today with #500 ss mesh and installed one of my Phiniac blasted tanks. Given that it takes me some time to still rebuild the sucker, will probably do the other one this weekend.

On a happy note, the rebuild was one of the smoothest so far. Made wick, installed coil, forgot to check for hotspots when dry {eek}... but even once filled only took a few twists of the wick to set it up and vaping like a champ. Got a 1.5 ohm 3/4 wrap of 32 AWG kantal. Used the Petar k method to setup the coil and find that the #500 ss wick is worth its weight in gold. Solid core wick roll using 43mm x 45mm of mesh.

I meant to have the 43 be the height and the 45 the width, but got turned around and rolled it the other way. :p

Oh, and I did a double boil of the mesh prior to using it this time around. Once with a bit of detergent and once more to rinse. This time around no funny taste. On the stock 400 mesh, I only boiled once with fresh water and it still had a bit of an after taste for a while.

Oh and I confirm that verticle chain vaping with 500 mesh is so much better than having to tilt with 400.

Ok, end of ramble... just one happy camper atm and vaping while I dump thoughts all over this post.

Oh, and damn I thought I polished up the chrome one a bit better than that, but guess not.

Haha ;)

Was I just lucky finding one? I learned about these just this morning, found a UK based shop (Alba Vapours) with 8 of them . When I checked back later there was 6, then I went through this thread a bit and figured this was top notch and bought one.
Just checked now, and they are out of stock.... :)

They can go fast. I'm not sure, but think Alba may be the main source for them. I have seen 60 go in 3 days on Alba's site, and about that # go in less time on Phiniac. Alba's inventory ebs and flows every few days.

If you haven't already checked the info on Phiniac's site, they offer customized tanks for the Cobra as well as additional accessories that Alba doesn't offer (custom tanks) or doesn't always have in stock.

Cobra Rebuildable Atomizer - Phiniac Rugged Pyrex Glass Tanks

Moorea and her husband are great and the group here is very supportive. The Cobra is definately top notch and I'm sure you'll be a happy with it, but fair warning if you have never used an RBA before, it may take a few build attempts and tweaking to get it to where you like it. And pardon any assumptions I made not knowing what you have or have not already read, done, know, tried, etc...

There are some great threads besides this one that can assist if you are really into doing a lot of your own research. I'll link a few here. I should have done this a while ago for the thread so thankee for the unintentional kick in the rear.

Some of these threads are huge and took me a while to read it all, but the info I learned was worth it. In some cases I've added a highlight from the thread to save ya time.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo.../320042-resistance-wire-kanthal-nichrome.html
Has a great chart on wires and resistance. Also from this thread was the best source I've found so far to buy wire from. Resistance Wire

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/330407-500-ss-mesh.html and http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/348672-635-mesh.html
Info on using mesh that's not the standard 325 or 400 that you see used everwhere else and some physics behind it all. Personally I found the 500 to be worth the cost and the best souce I found for buying mesh was The Mesh Company (Warrington) Ltd #400 & #500 Super Fine E-Cig Wicking Mesh - 25 Micron & Atomizer Wire

Well this started out to be a quick reply and ended up being somethign else altogether. Hope you and everyone else finds it useful.

Thanks a lot, your reply was extremely helpful. :)
I got an AGA-T2 a couple days ago, and managing to make my first reasonably successful coils convinced my RBA was the way to go. :)
I've bookmarked the links and will spend some good time reading them when time allows.
Thanks!

So finally rebuilt my 2nd cobra with #500 mesh and installed my other Phiniac tank. With that came picture time of course and why bother taking a pic if you don't plan on sharing it. :p

How is it that you have 3 different size Provari's? I thought they only made 2 sizes. Nice choice of tank designs BTW. :D

I rememberd your reaction when you saw the kokopelli design was comming out and I just picked my favorite two designs from the tanks I got in the past. :D

When I ordered the 1st one I got it with the two 18650's and the extension cap. On my second order I was going for the chrome to match my bike and be a backup, but that's when the mini was also being released. So I waited a bit longer than I wanted and ordered the chome and mini with extension caps at the same time. To mix it up I got two 18490s and two 18350s. So normally I run each with one size battery and charge the other while it's in use.

If I fail to remember to charge a battery, I still have the ability to use a different size in another unit so always covered.

Sorry for the long story.

TLDR - One v2 is running an extension, one is not, and the mini is in normal mode as well. :nun:

Yeah, I love the Kokopelli and the feather. I have both also. I want to get the lizard next and a textured but I keep running out of money. And now the Skinny Phinney's are coming soon. Oh man am I in trouble. :(

Extensions caps. Didn't even think about that. Clever idea you got going there. :)

Hmmm.... it looks to me like that mini is need of a Cobra :)

It probably does along with some of those nifty stands you just got. :p

I know the feeling. I'm hoping to score a Sweet Medicine next, but my budget tells me to not even think about it. Seems there's always something on the to get list, but that's part of the fun eh?

Just an update. The Cobras were lost for a bit there but I think they have been found (fingers crossed).

On the 15th DHL tracking said it was handed off to USPS in Colorado for delivery to us. On the 16th DHL tracking said it was delivered to and signed for by my local PO. However visits to the local PO on the 16th, 17th and 18th yielded the same result, they had no package for us. This morning I got a notice in my PO Box, that they had a package to big to fit in my box. As I am not expecting anything at this time I can only assume and hope that it is the Cobras. Of course the PO was closed when I got this notice and a sign on the door says they will be closed on Monday. So we will get the package on Tuesday. Have I mentioned I hate DHL.

Anyway, assuming those are the Cobras, we still need to cut the mesh and wire when we get the package, so they should be on the site by the end of this coming week.
