What an amazing display of nonsense. Even more mind-boggling, it comes from a medical professional. Dr. Fuller actually said that "it involves a combustion and a release of vapor". I would certainly not want that doctor treating my friends and family, or anyone for that matter.

Apparently, vapor comes from burning now. That's like saying that circles aren't round.

In that case, using any product containing PG in a cooking situation would be dangerous. It's hard to cook and not inhale vapors. It's in the good doctors kitchen as we speak. He'd better not turn on the burner without respiratory apparatus. The patent below is from 1978. The joke's on you doc!

The fact that people still believe everything they hear or read in the news is so disappointing. What's worse is that media is allowed to print or televise such false claims without repercussions. What's even worse is that the FDA is still sitting on it's heels and refusing to perform and release any in depth studies to clear up myths surrounding e-cigs. E-cigs are growing in popularity so quickly that the FDA, BT, and BP can't figure out a way to to keep their pockets fat if the truth is released. They will continue to sit on their heels until they can conspire a way to regulate the e-cig industry to be most profitable. We all know how well regulation has worked out for a country which prides itself in so-called freedom(ie..war on drugs, prohibition, etc.)
Also, I'm really tired of hearing about the poor schmuck in Florida being tagged on to every reference to e-cigs without his whole story being told.

If it looks like a cigarette it must be bad for you. My Mother and just about everyone I know says, "Well, its good that you quit, but you are still addicted to nicotine." Yes, that's true, but the carcinogens are missing in vapor. "Well, nicotine causes cancer, too!" The answer to that is no. It's about as bad for you as caffeine.

Yes, I vape it all day, but I get just enough to keep me off cigarettes. The absorption rate is miniscule compared to tobacco. It's something from 10% to 30% depending on who is explaining it and vaping liquids can be tapered off to zero nic if you wish to do that.

I read that article earlier this morning, posted elsewhere. The only comment on it was from our very special electric friend. I'll see if I can find that ,so that people can post a comment there if they want to correct him.

Eta: here it is http://www.wsbt.com/health/ktla-electronic-cigarettes-debate,0,5999907.story

Same article I think, but needs only one comment.

Added comment and reported a comment that met the definition of Libel:
libel

n. to publish in print (including pictures), writing or broadcast through radio, television or film, an untruth about another which will do harm to that person or his/her reputation, by tending to bring the target into ridicule, hatred, scorn or contempt of others. Libel is the written or broadcast form of defamation, distinguished from slander, which is oral defamation. It is a tort (civil wrong) making the person or entity (like a newspaper, magazine or political organization) open to a lawsuit for damages by the person who can prove the statement about him/her was a lie.
