Think the wants and needs thread needs to be separated and clearly marked as such.

There is not a thing wrong with wants. No matter how well stocked someone is .

There is nothing wrong with needs either, that is the heart of PIF.

However confusion can come about when it is all in one thread. Most of the time the members
here themselves sort it out in the end.

Thats not a bad thing most of the time as long as no one is actually cussin or throwing things LOL.

Still think it would be better as seperate threads though.

I think you are right on with the first statement.

The second statement is not a bad idea or people need to get a little better at highlighting their post as a want or need. I think the first line of each request should be "***This is a want***" or "***This is a need***" . First line, easy to spot, eliminates any confusion.

I have no problems with anyone asking for a want of something or a taste of something even if they have every flavor available (they may not be able to find their flavor or it may be bad LOL).
A Need is totally different, however, and even people who have every PV available and lots and lots of juice can have needs. Once a need is fullfilled it should be closed off the thread, if possible, that's why I think the needs thread should be seperate from the wants thread when you take care of need, you can pm jules or toni and they can close the thread, that way 14 people aren't helping the same person and leaving others w/o care.
When someone continually puts a want on the thread, if people want to help so be it, if not don't. I don't think that we have a right to judge what may be going on in someone else life. It's like a bunch a of little kids telling on each other and it really makes me ill, reading all this BS on this particular social group. But that is just me.
NO, I don't think anyone is a bad person for not wanting to fork out a ton of cash on anything, without trying it first. I have no problem with sending people samples of juice especially, because who wants to fork out a huge amount of cash to find out you don't like it. That reallys sucks IMO.

People are actually supposed to do that ru4u, but many times a newbie comes in and doesnt read or remember the rules.
So it makes for confusion,
If they were posted in the thread line header it might make it clearer for them I think

As long as it is in the Wants/Needs section listed as a want, I see no problem with listing the want. Being truthful in your listing is what it is all about.

as long as u weren't snatching up any hardware u could find b4 ne1 else could even see it w/ that much hardware already

as long as u mentioned when and how the want was met, if say 3 ppl PMd u at 1ce, fine, let it b known. however, don't leave it up for days and bump it after it's been met in order to get more.

these are probably repeats of everyone else's but i think that pretty much sums it up.

I have no prob with ppl wanting to try a flavor.. that is me all the time.. i have a bunch of diff kinds of juice, but a bunch i dont have.. and w/ new suppliers popping up all the time ...u think hey I wonder how their BNB is... cuz thats my favorite juice..lol... so I used to ask if any one has that specific juice for a sample can be 1ml or less.. just a sample..
Just today in chit chat we were talkin bout vapor renu... their prices are so cheap.. I asked if anyone had a sample of diff types so i could try them.. sometimes as veteran of this group i feel bad or weird asking for anything.. I have given till it hurt.. and so has boB... but we have to realize we cant help everyone.. but do what we can, all the time! we have had so many items just given to us here.. that u have to give back..and it feels so good to give back!
Now.. when i do ask for something i say it is merely a want..... and as soon as it is answered i say so.. when i wanted to get a kit together for that single mom.. alot of ppl stepped up..but as soon as i knew what i was getting I told ppl we had it taken care of..If I wanted to I could have had enough kits for 3 or 4 ppl.. but thats taking advantage of PIF.. and just plain wrong!
same goes for a need.....if it is met.... u should close it and let anyone PMing u that is has been met.. there will always be the few that will sneak in here.. take what they can.. and keep taking for as long as they can.. but they are few and far in between.. and I think PIF as a group can find those types rather quickly, and weed them out..
so to answer...new to PIF , or here since it began.. ask away... and once it is met.. let it be known! need or want!

I agree with stating wants vs needs. It might be a courtesy for the person placing the original post to go back and edit it stating that it is "fulfilled. Thanks". That way someone coming along and reading it won't think it's still wanted or needed.

Like some people have stated, there's nothing wrong with people asking for samples, but they need to be issued as a "want". When it is filled, it needs to be noted as such. Same goes for any needs posted.

Unfortunately, there are some who seem to take advantage of this group, and that is where the problem lies. I think there needs to be a 12 hour limit between taking PIF's....that would solve a lot IMO. When I see the same people stalking the threads and taking multiple offers each day, that makes me wonder.

I don't know if 12 hours is enough. One or two a week should be the limit, otherwise you're taking advantage of people's genorosity..... just my opinion.

but yes as stated, a want is a want and a need is a need.... not that complicated. Doesn't matter who you are, what you already have, if you WANT to try something, ask. PIFers are great at helping you out.

now if you have all that equipment and are taking equipment all the time from the PIF thread before others get a chance to look at it.... then I think that's going too far.

I think im confused...a time limit on Pif ? You do have to offer up things in return for the next person. I agree to not allowing people to grab up huge offers everytime, but not sure i understand the rest. Im blondish yanno

member 1 takes various, generous PIFs, and offers little in return every time. Member 1 should probably have 100's of ml's by now. Member 1 is taking advantage IMO

I think I am just adding to what everyone else has stated as far as "want" vs "need". I guess for some people the definition of "want" and "need" is more subjective. (I lean more towards the idea that nothing on ECF is truly "needed" and that 99% of things fall into the "want" category). With that being said, there are times when I want to try a new flavor without having to spend $10+ dollars on the juice, then $6+ dollars on shipping only to find that I don't like it. I am a big fan of the swap page as it is the best resource for people that have a decent stash to trade without feeling like they are taking advantage of someone. I have posted on the want forum and people have sent me samples. I try to offer something in return, but get denied. That is just how good hearted most of the people are here. My biggest complaint is when I see the same person taking things on pif day after day...regardless of what they are offering back.
